Point Lookout is definitely the best of 3's DLCs, but the spongy enemies and lack of interiors kinda holds it back. I like The Pitt's atmosphere a little better, but it's so short that it suffers as a whole. Anchorage and Mothership are just too repetitive and too reliant on 3's weak combat.
Yeah I came to say something similar. I love the atmosphere and look, but those enemies are ridiculous. I enjoy a challenge, but not when it means enemies just being a bullet sponge.

The pitt was by far my favorite dlc before the lonesome road. The pitt just recaptured the first time coming out of the vault. Seeing the city n building destroyed in the background. No matter. Where you go the bombs have affected everyone in a differentway
Fallout 3’s atmosphere/environments was 🔥 so believable and hauntingly beautiful.. and the little side stories like andale, republic of dave, oasis.. make exploring a Joy
Yea, zeta is definitely good for being a dlc that departs from the only thing fallout 3 excelled at to become a linear shooter with no story and the worse combat I have ever played for an fps. Sometimes I wonder why Bethesda fans think fallout 4 is a good game, then I remember they never had standards to begin with.
Been saying it since 2009 this was the best DLC a truly open world map with side content and the “wonder of discovery” 😂 anchorage was a railed test, the Pitt was amazing but not very open and linear, broken steel was compelling but just not enough , and zeta doesn’t count.
I love the Pitt, it allows you to actually become a raider boss and see how they live. It was an interesting story too, I think this is why I enjoyed Nuka World so much in Fallout 4. Because you can join the raiders there too and there's even 3 different factions of raiders 😆 Operators 4life btw 😂
I remember the first time I played this dlc, i sort of "went native". Hopped on the boat with just my tickets, my standard assault rifle with less than 300 rounds, my semi ruined combat armor, and however many stimpacks I could scrounge together from rivet city. After the mansion thoroughly ate all my ammo and ruined what little of my armor was left, I used whatever weapons and armor I could get my hands on. Drugs and punga were some of the only healing I could reliably find. Shit that was such a fun way to play this! By the time I got back to the CapWastes, I stepped off the fairie with my Confederate cap and a double barrel shotty, eager to teach some Talon merc some southern hospitality.
My personal theory is that Desmond continued on to find John-Caleb Bradberton, but couldn't sus out where he was hiding since JC had no presence outside his trapped room and thus there was no trail to follow.
Before playing Fallout 3 myself, I thought it was a horror game. Would love to see those elements come back in future titles. Point Lookout brought a new type of horror to the wasteland and I loved it
Same here, I was 12 back then and it was scary as hell from time to time. Never played Point Lookout tho. I wonder when someone does a game like that again, maybe Chernobylite will turn out ok, or maybe STALKER 2 will be good.

Nah, only Point Lookout and The Pitt are good. Broken Steel should’ve been in the base game. Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta are just long and boring dungeons with new boring guns.
Operation Anchorage, for the rewards: Chinese Stealth Suit, Winterized T-51, Jingwei's Sword, Gauss Rifle, a bunch of other stuff. I think we need a DLC revamp mod to enhance everything.
I completely agree with Point lookout! The spooky swamp aesthetic and setting just really appeals to me. It’s also the DLC that gives of the best feeling of a new open world area to explore, and I’m surprised why people don’t generally like it more for that reason - it is Fallout after all.
All the dlcs for fallout 3 are equally enjoyable but I think you’re right that point lookout is the best. Compared to fallout 4 and it’s dlc, fallout 3 is the superior game. Really wish though that Bethesda would fix the game on pc by remastering it
Point Lookout has my favorite mission in all of Fallout 3, and I think possibly in all of the entire Fallout series ( I haven't played more than an hour of tactics, 2, or BoS though, so...yeah probably in all of the games 😜 ). The one where you have to finish the Chinese spy's mission, and it takes you to that submarine and the secret room under the greenhouse and all that jazz. Though I do really like Op. Anchorage, despite it's length and lack of depth. I just loved seeing a new location and some of the old world, plus all the loot you get is so awesome. But taking everything into consideration I think Point Lookout is my favorite of the Fallout 3 DLCs.
I do have the platinum for F03, but the most difficult part was getting thru Mothership Zeta picking up with very old saves, almost had to start the game over because I missed some tapes that I could not get too. But agree, Pointe Lookout was the best.
Point lookout is defnetly the best dlc. The exploration the setting the idea of it all is amazing. I remember being 8 and playing it for the first time and I literally was in love .
Old World Blues for me love both but nothing can top the characters, dialogue, and setting of BIG MT but did love the setting change in Point Lookout would love a southern Fallout Crossing between Texas and Louisiana kind of like RDR2 and its fictional states.
Can relate to being shitscared of this game when I was around 13, encountering my first ghoul and turning the PS3 off. Some trials and tribulations later I got my ghoul mask via the Tenpenny questline, low and behold I was desensitised. Good times.
The Pitt. The troggs and whole story was great. I was blown away by it. Point lookout was second best. But theme from point lookout? It was blues masterpiece.
there’s this one dlc where you go to a city and get capture as a slave and then you fight these weird monsters and then collect iron and decide if you want to eat a baby or not, i think that beats point lookout
I agree with you on point lookout because my favorite is still new vegas but none of the dlc are like point lookout or far harbor from fallout 4 and I like how the 2 dlc are like extra maps
I remember liking mothership zeta just because it was a space related thing and it explored the whole alien thing a lot more. But I do remember liking point lookout and the pitt. It has been a very long time since I actually played the game proper tho.
What's wrong with Mothership Zeta? it's full of cool stuff with armor, weapons, characters, set pieces and you get to shoot a death ray at Earth and another ship, like I don't understand.
Alright Matty you forced my hand. Mothership Zeta is my favorite fallout 3 DLC, followed by the Pitt, Point Lookout, Broken Steel, and Anchorage only for the loot.
God I had so much fun with all these Fallout 3 DLC's. Another very memorable one was Shivering Isles for Oblivion, high quality! Cannot wait for Bethesda to make their big comeback this year.
Point Lookout was definitely my favorite. Gave more of a backwater feel to Fallout 3. Which was somewhat missing from Fallout 3. Also included actual tribals. Loved it. Not only that but the spooky lovecraftian vibe was blended with the post apocalyptic setting so flawlessly. I dare say it's better than the base game itself.
This still looks reasonable on the 360 on a recent 4k tv despite the lack of aliasing. 2009 was a really lonely time so I decided to live in this instead.
Point Lookout and the Pitt are so close in my opinion. Both have great stories, take you out of your element, and present some interesting choices. The environments are amazing and they both do a lot to expand on the Fallout lore / worldbuilding. I have to end up going with the Pitt in the end though, as the final choice in that story feels so much heavier / impactful than the final choice in Point Lookout.
I personally just like Point Lookout for the Lever Action Rifle, and the squabble between the two main characters. I think that's enough to call it the best though honestly...
I'll never forget the start of "Those" and how that kid came from literally no where and made me dirty my underwear. Seriously that twerp can give Fnaf a run for it's money.
In your Fallout 3 videos I see that your gameplay is very smooth (I assume you are playing on PC). I play on PC, and while I was able to make fallout 3 function on windows 10, movement and everything is very choppy and jerky despite me running it between 60-90fps. What mods do you use or what alterations have you made to the game in order to make it function smoothly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I think for me what makes NV DLC the best overall is that they are all linked and tie into the main game. That being said Fallout 3 and 4 have some solid DLC, especially Far Harbor and The Pitt.
I hear you matty, i really miss that feeling i had playing fallout 3 and point lookout, im still waiting for a game that can give me that same level of experience.
Agreed. I like the pit more but you could finish the pit in under 3 hours if you steal the baby when you see it. Which I think everyone did on there first gameplay
I agree with you Matty , point lookout had a great creepy dark vibe and a great story behind it spent alot of time there getting lost within the grasp of the atmosphere of fallout 3
Is it just me or Fallout 3 :Point lookout & Fallout 4:Far Harbor have a lot of mission similar missions? 1)Each DLC send players to a location to find a girl, 2)Similar hallucination mission like,Fallout 3 (Sacred Bog Hallucination) & fallout 4(Visions in the Fog) 3)Weird mysterious old people,in fallout 3 (Obadiah Blackhall on Blackhall manor ),Fallout 4 (Cassie Dalton) Still I love both DLC's :)
The best DLC for Fallout 3 is Anchorage Alaska. for 3 reasons. 1 you experience part of the lore 2. you get a working Chinese Stealth suit. and 3 Winterized T-51b! two of the best armors in the game at level 7! that and the Winterized T-51b does not brake!
Makes me sad that the Bethesda news gives the impression it could be a decade or more before a F5, but if there was new vegas 2 by obsidian well that would be beautiful maybe with some bigger dlc away from the desert I've always liked the east coast atmosphere for fallout much more
Mothership zeta was the best, saly was a really endearing character when you go into the trash shoot with her it has last of us vibes. Just exploring dangerous places with a kid. Graphics were good environment is unique, you get to meet prewar characters outside a simulation. Aliens I mean I could go on.
honestly don't understand the hate behind mothership zeta... make a video explaining why because for me I really liked it. it was freaky and weird but I totally agree as to why point lookout is the best. One of my fave fallout dlcs all time
PL was definitely the best DLC and for many of the reasons you highlighted. I initially liked Zeta and it's humour but it very quickly became a repetitive on rails corridor shooter and got pretty boring. But I just love FO3 overall and it still remains my fave video game of all time and I think I pretty much explored every single nook and cranny of that game. Now you've given me the bug and it might be time to revisit it and apply some modernisation mods to it and see how it goes with some nice HD textures and other essential mods. Though FONV and FO4 had their redeeming qualities (and issues) none of those captured the magic and atmosphere and free forming exploration/mystery feeling that FO3 delivered. I still recall going to the Super Duper Mart near Greyditch to gather info for a travel guide someone was putting together in Megaton and how random/chance it felt encountering Bryan Wilks and his story about giant mutated ants and his trapped/missing father. Felt so real and suddenly I was off on that quest trying to help the boy. I know it was just a game... But it was done so well it feels like it was one of my real memories and something I actually did in my life! Now that is the essence of video gaming immersion and despite the typical Bethesda quirks and bugs FO3 excelled at this across the board (I could recount many such adventures and encounters like the above that I recall so vividly and fondly).
I'll never forget coming out of the vault in fallout 3 for the first time in 2008

there’s this one dlc where you go to a city and get capture as a slave and then you fight these weird monsters and then collect iron and decide if you want to eat a baby or not, i think that beats point lookout
I agree with you on point lookout because my favorite is still new vegas but none of the dlc are like point lookout or far harbor from fallout 4 and I like how the 2 dlc are like extra maps
This game and dlc when it dropped is the reason i got into RPG'S...couldn't agree more with ya.
Cannot wait for Bethesda to make their big comeback this year.
started following you right before the fallout 4 content, saw this title and man, I really love your content and personality. Keep it up :)
Point Lookout was the only part of Fallout 3 that I actually enjoyed, yet it remains as one of my favorite pieces of DLC ever released.
See i wanna say the pitt is my favorite but i haven't played 3 in years
Point Lookout was definitely my favorite.
Point Lookout is amazing!
I personally just like Point Lookout for the Lever Action Rifle, and the squabble between the two main characters. I think that's enough to call it the best though honestly...
mothership zeta was actually my favorite...
Same
I never played the DLC for Fallout 3, but will say I liked Fallout 3 over New Vegas.
Good timing, I just redownloaded Fallout 3 and all the DLC 😁
Can’t wait to download fallout 3 for the first time on steam 😁
(RIP)
I agree. I had the best time with point lookout from all fallout dlcs! especially the detectiv quest!
I hear you matty, i really miss that feeling i had playing fallout 3 and point lookout, im still waiting for a game that can give me that same level of experience.
Point Lookout
The Pitt
Broken Steel
Operation Anchorage
Mothership Zeta
Agreed. I like the pit more but you could finish the pit in under 3 hours if you steal the baby when you see it. Which I think everyone did on there first gameplay
@@erotomainasequnce I actually never stole the baby lol
@@erotomainasequnce I actually didn't even know that
@@SETRAverse oh lol 😂 guess only me
I agree with you Matty , point lookout had a great creepy dark vibe and a great story behind it spent alot of time there getting lost within the grasp of the atmosphere of fallout 3
My favourite was the Pitt dlc tbh but was a bit short
Can't wait to get to this DLC again, only just started another Fallout 3 playthrough the other day, haven't played it in years.
Fallout 3 is the best Fallout game, LOVE IT ❤️
Is it just me or Fallout 3 :Point lookout & Fallout 4:Far Harbor have a lot of mission similar missions?
1)Each DLC send players to a location to find a girl,
2)Similar hallucination mission like,Fallout 3 (Sacred Bog Hallucination) & fallout 4(Visions in the Fog)
3)Weird mysterious old people,in fallout 3 (Obadiah Blackhall on Blackhall manor ),Fallout 4 (Cassie Dalton)
Still I love both DLC's :)
The best DLC for Fallout 3 is Anchorage Alaska. for 3 reasons. 1 you experience part of the lore 2. you get a working Chinese Stealth suit. and 3
Winterized T-51b! two of the best armors in the game at level 7! that and the
Winterized T-51b does not brake!
A lot of personality in your recent vids keep it up
I personally loved Mothership Zeta
Makes me sad that the Bethesda news gives the impression it could be a decade or more before a F5, but if there was new vegas 2 by obsidian well that would be beautiful maybe with some bigger dlc away from the desert I've always liked the east coast atmosphere for fallout much more
Mothership zeta was the best, saly was a really endearing character when you go into the trash shoot with her it has last of us vibes. Just exploring dangerous places with a kid. Graphics were good environment is unique, you get to meet prewar characters outside a simulation. Aliens I mean I could go on.
Ah, I miss the good ol' Fallout days on this channel. Let's hope for more in the future.
honestly don't understand the hate behind mothership zeta... make a video explaining why because for me I really liked it. it was freaky and weird but I totally agree as to why point lookout is the best. One of my fave fallout dlcs all time
Bro I want a F3 remake/remaster soooo bad.
Aww I haven't thought of kotor in forever I need to buy those again
We can debate Fallout DLC, but nothing compares to Shivering Isles :D
Point Lookout is by far my favorite.
My favorite DLC is the lonesome road on N.V
