The thing I’ve always liked about “Honey” is that he never once described what she looked like.
It was irrelevant. He described WHO she was and WHAT she was on the inside.
The first few times I heard it I felt that I knew her to, and in a sense missed her to.
    Wonderful song.

A beautiful composition by the creation of God, God created also the music, see there are already melody, rhythm and the harmony we only composed it. That's why composition is the right term not creation where God who created it all.

Dad used to whistle this around the house, annoyed us kids lol. Now that he is gone some 20 years, and my brother gone 2 years, [I am the last one left of the original family. INow wish I could hear dad whistle this again...yes this song went over the top when the choir comes in, oh boy! If we all just cry over the tree, while listening to this, it will grow even more!😂

Harri, I lost my wife to cancer 2 years ago today. I've been totally in control all day, but now I'm crying, but that's okay. It has reminded me how much we loved each other. It's so special to remember what we had. Thank you for reacting to this song. I remember when it was released.

Deeply sorry for your irretrievably loss, Gary. I managed to restrain my tears somehow while the song was playing, but your *in memoriam* very nearly opened the floodgates.
We all suffer deep losses and grief in the course of our lives. Knowing that never makes it easier for our own or in recognizing like impacts on the lives of others. All the best of what remains to you and yours.

As to the ending of this song, it ends the same way the song begins. The impression I get is the song goes on forever in this loop, at least for the person who lost Honey. A loss they will never get over.

I am crying watching this video and remarkably think of the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
We are all dumb and smart aren’t we. Some get offended at this line in the song. They are not realistic!!!!
    Jerks.
Every part of this song reminds me of ME
    Of Him
    Of Dad
    Of Her
    Of being in love
    Of mom
    Of a friend and yes,
    Of the human being.
Yes Harri the song is indeed haunting and so appropriate it seems for today.
    Now I need tissues

When I was a wee boy about 9 or 10 my father bought a player organ. Like the player piano you could buy scrolls of popular songs and the organ would play itself. One of the songs purchased was Honey. As the scroll passed over the air inlets the words would scroll by in the margins so this is one of the first songs I knew by heart. It wasn't until years later I actually heard Bobby sing it and was amazed because we have almost identical voices.

Oh, this song. The first album my grandmother ever bought my grandfather was this song. We lost her in 2016, and then him in 2018. She was his Honey. This song is incredibly special to my family. I'm actually getting the lyric "And Honey, I miss you" tattooed early next year in memory of them.

Your reactions are always great Harri 👍🏻🥰‼️ Funny 🤔 thing about this song. Some reacters haven’t gotten that she died. One guy was even more interested in the music and background vocals. It’s great that you got it before it even tells about the Angels coming to get Honey. Makes me tear up every time 😢. It reminds me of when my mom died in 1980. My sister and I stood by her hospital bed with a Priest and sadly watched as her breath slowly dissipated until it stopped. I could well imagine Angels coming down and lifting her Spirit up to Heaven 🙏🏻😇. I saw him in Arizona in the mid 1970s. He was great 👏🏻🥰‼️ Another great song by him is “With Pen in Hand”. And I hope you’ll react to it. I think you’ll like it.

This song was the largest selling record in 1968. It was number 1 for 5 weeks.
Such an emotional song, with such great orchestral backing and the backup vocals sounding like an angelic choir.
As the world mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth, this song lends to our emotional state tonight. Deep sympathy to Great Britain and the Royal Family on the world's great loss. 😥💔🌹🇨🇦

Bobby Goldsboro is an American pop & country singer-songwriter from the 60's-70's. "Honey" was his biggest hit but he had a lot of great songs including "See The Funny Little Clown", "Summer (The First Time)", "It's Too Late", "Little Things", "Too Many People", "With Pen In Hand", "Hello Summertime", "Watching Scotty Grow" etc. Some of his songs were performed by other artists such as Brenda Lee, Dolly Parton, John Denver.

This song has always been beautiful and thought provoking.
Why do people feel entitled to pass judgement on the effects of grief in others lives? Calling someone overly sentimental when they are grief stricken over losing a person who was a huge part of their life, is just cruel. Grief is a long process with a lot of stages to get through, can't we at least try to acknowledge that each of us has to deal with things in our own way and that always takes as long as it takes. If we don't deal with big issues or even small ones in a healthy way, it can have a big impact on our whole lives, also physical and mental well being. We can be sad over the unnecessary death of a random animal and cry for a while over the loss of a special pet, how much more so over our human loved ones, all this is completely normal and needed. Adults have the god-given right to make choices for ourselves, to make sure our choices do not make things too horrendous for others, and then live with the consequences of our choices, words and actions. If we expect our choices to be respected, we need to start reciprocating. Life is already hard enough, do we really want to make ourselves responsible, for making a mess of someone else's life?

Harri, I’m so happy that you reacted to this beautiful song. My mama passed away in March 2018. I moved in to take care of my daddy, who colon cancer that metastasized to his liver and lungs. I found out on tye ride to chemo one day that this was my daddy’s song for my mama. I had no idea!! He always called her HONEY! Five months after my mama died, my daddy passed away. We played this song at his funeral.
    Thank you!

Harri I still recall this song from when I was young. I think it was in top ten radio charts. The part where the ""Angels came"" I always thought should be more towards the end..If you watch a more recent live version of Bobby Goldsboro, singing this song its like he hasnt aged a year! Where did I see him Oh on Ray Stevenson show live...Very much like ""Taco"" singing Puttin on the Ritz, Taco still sounds the same but age is apparent. Nice reaction btw

The backing angelic voice gives even more intensity to the lyrics and to the melancholic atmosphere. And of course the huge impressive Bobby's ton of voice suits at best the theme evoked.

Most present-day music critics despise the song, in part because if you "read between the lines," you may get the feeling the narrator emotionally abused Honey (pretending to be mad after the car wreck, laughing when she falls, not being with her when she suddenly dies, etc.), possibly to the point of her committing suicide, & is thus on a guilt trip. That said, Bobby Russell, the componser, claimed he was inspired by the sight of a young tree growing in a yard-the image that opens & closes the song-& not by a specific relationship that ended tragically.

People who stay at home very often un tye States often tries to play the guitar for this song Honey and the 5th Dimension song Aquariusl one looks to the back and the other looks to the future in The Age Of Aquarius. This is like what you said in a video where people in the bars (in the States?) Do not want to go back home because they do not see a past and future in that home (like my brother who I suspect does not see a past in our home).
Generally baby boomers and so are Cancer Ascendant people are sentimental people so it hurts deeply whe their loved ones pass away. Their love also never wavers and certain yogas like Venus conjunct Rahu in the 1st house, all throughout their lives whether their loved ones are still living or not, their love for them never wavers one bit.
Cancsr represents the group of crabs in the basket, where if anyone tries to reach for the heights, the other crabs would pull him down Meryl Streep is an exception, bu then imagine what a huge sacrifice she made juggling between family and work. She was very protective of her family. I was like a white tiger (1962 is a white tiger which has the water element) trying to bring my father to eat at the safest and enjoyable (for him) hawker centre. Like a mother carrying a cub. The white tiger lives in the mountains where food is xcarce (my father eats only certain kinds of food because he is a Straits born Chinese).
I am God has in a way worked out the karma for me by making me understand Vedic culture, and especially Vedic Astrology in depth. I also want to thank Shubham Alock for his incessant guide of Vedic Astrology in UA-cam.

It's unlikely you'll react to the same song by another artist, but if U listen to ORION singing it privately I'm not even slightly exaggerating when I say u won't believe what U are hearing.
