Never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. At one point I would have lost faith and put it in the pile to use the other side. You always amaze me.
Thanks Teri, it was an up-and-down ride with good results.
This time :)
Beautifully impressionistic and harmonious. Hard to understand how you don’t seem to get confused with all the pencil lines, tree trunks and branches. Thank you for such an enjoyable and inspiring video.
Thx Barbara - i was winging it for the most part
Thank you! I've been watching you on and off for about 8 years and trying my hand at your method. Today, finally while painting along, it clicked in my brain to actually see the subject and come up with a half decent painting. Slow learner, I guess!!!!!!
Thanks Paula, it’s an exciting moment when you see your subject in a new way!
Interesting and inspiring indeed … you have such a knack for finding beauty in the mundane .. which is what separates the artist from the illustrator… thx for posting
Many thx - I do find beautiful things in the shadows and quiet places
You put the zen into watercolour - a Sargeant for today even - you have a lot of his paintings in Boston I believe - I can see the influence. Masterful work.
Thanks Paul, yes, we have over 500 of his watercolors at the MFA, they don’t come out very often but when they do, it’s exciting
Love your brush strokes Gary. So free and intuitive.
Thank you Austin
You are the best. Watched all your demos . Thank you 😂
Many thanks
This is a really beautiful image Gary! The abstract quality of your design and the calligraphy of your brushwork are just brilliant!
Thank you David, I’ve been more focused on the brush these days, even my class is focusing on brushwork!
Great work of intentional strokes
Thanks so much, the brush is a fantastic tool
Fantastic demo
Many thanks!
Thank you, Gary, for inspiring us all to reflect the beauty of God’s creation on paper.
Thank you, Peter, I always find the best inspiration in nature
Your palette and paper configuration is the most didactic I have seen.
Thanks a lot
Thank you so much 😀
I hope I get a chance to see you in action in Marietta Plein Air.
Top ten valuable looking over artist shoulder video! YT junkie -pro-tip: turn off the sound and view it a second time, then I saw learned much more when I could respond with a personal inner dialoge.
thx Liti - good commentary - watching without the sound!
