Except it will always be unfinished. Problem with an epic plot is that it needs to maintain that momentum. The last 3rd of it loses steam and we will never know if the creator was as good at concluding a story as he was building one.

It's also confirmed that he used the berserk armor, so what if it broke him, aged him, killed his nerves and eyes, couldn't see taste or even feel. What if he became an apostle. When he was on the edge of death, sacrificed his kingdom to become a demon. Once he gained sight again the first thing he saw was his wife. Otherwise, how would he be here, unless he survived a sacrifice, if so why would anyone other than him sacrifice his entire kingdom?
it dosent say that you have to be a human leader, only "leader like" qualities, Void could have been a "comrade" to gaiseric with "leader like" qualities like guts. only to be mortaly wounded, in battle or otherwise. and then chose to betray gaiseric instead of dying like a chump, ofcourse he needed a special behelit for that. or maybe void had a dream like griffith, but was jealus of gaiseric/sk kingdom and decided to betray him and sacrifice gaiserics kingdom and his wife/fam. Knowing the detrimental impact the Berserker armor is doing to Guts' body and mind, I ponder whether or not the armor will have Guts succumb to his dark emotions and be consumed. Can Skull Knight or Guts' friends save him from this armor is what I await to see in the future chapters.
I've heard of people who can't feel pain a couple times. There's a character on "Haven" (an old Stephen King show) with that problem, and once an hour or so he has to stop and check himself for injuries. You can bleed out without realizing anything's happening, or have serious medical issues (like cancer or other unseen diseases) go untreated because you have no way to know they're there

Even worse. You can't sweat or regulate body temperature. People with CIPA have to avoid getting too hot or else it can literally fry your brain, rendering you retarded. Yes, really.

But without spiritual intervention it’s a very dangerous armor to user and all near it. The armor slowly dampens the users senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch) and will allow the user to continue fighting through injury until the user bleeds to death
I still say that the GUYVER is the strongest suit of armor in fiction. However the Berserk armor is unique. In the sense that instead of adding to the host. It takes away from the host. That being the ability to feel pain.

As crazy as it sounds, I think it’s not meant to be just a dog or just a wolf. As in it’s more so literally just a beast that the reader get’s to label. I believed it was a mad dog, but over time I’ve found for myself that that it can resemble a wolf just as much, because Guts killed all those wolves as a child. That makes it make sense (to me) why the beast would be in that form, from an emotional standpoint. It was one of the most traumatic moments of his life and defining. However, when you view it as a mad dog, that’s very applicable to Guts as well. Does he view himself as some mad dog because of his life? Or is there a deep resonation with the wolves he killed strictly for himself to survive? I love either way tbh. But a mad dog, or a wolf. Or a beast. It’s really reader’s choice and I’m down for all of them. Because the importance in it’s appearance (in regards to Guts as a character) isn’t the appearance itself, it’s what it resembles and symbolizes.
Fun fact: That strength capacity threshold our nervous system develops caps you off at approximately 60% of your maximum strength/exertion. As the video mentioned this is to keep our muscles, ligaments, and bones from tearing themselves apart and it can only be surpassed using extreme levels of adrenaline or in this manga, the armor. But yeah not having pain or that subconscious cap means it boosted his strength/exertion Max by 1.67 times it's original amount
You have it wrong though it says he doesn’t care about the pain anymore not that he can’t feel it. This is an important distinction to make as it shows the true way it works is by amplifying his rage not by just stopping the pain.

I have theory about the berserker armor I found it weird that the berserker is not really protecting guts from dangerous blows but making guts stronger and faster pushing his body to the limit and eating away at his body. Back in the Middle Ages armor was mostly made to protect the user from harm. I think there’s probably two modes of the berserker armor offensive and defensive. guts is stuck on offensive mode and the berserker armor is requiring more of his flesh and blood in order for guts to use offensive mode. If guts masters the berserker armor and uses defensive mode the flesh and blood it consumed from him will most likely be used to heal his injured body it might actually regenerate his arm and eye back.And if their is defensive mode of the berserker armor it will most likely be gray instead of black like when guts envisioned skull knight as king gaiseric when charlotte was talking about king gaiseric in the prison where Griffith was captured.
I think the armor won’t bring his eye or arm back. As the cannon arm is a plus and bringing his vision back would be erasing the scars the eclipse left on him

Watching him die was the last straw and I couldn't repress any more memories. I threw myself into the gym until the strain started taking its toll. I also practiced swordsmanship with a mania so singular that I would put too much stress on my body as I lost myself in the swordplay. My injuries required me to change my fighting style. And I started training until I mastered every last form my style had. But that was six years ago. I don't feel like I was in the headspace to call myself a master until last year. My family coached me through the process of rehabilitating my mind and in turn it refined my skill until my swordsmanship became as natural as breathing. I walk with a cane now, but I'm still determined to master myself. I have to before I'm ready to have children with my wife. I can't raise children if I'm too busy laying down my demons.

I’m as big a berserk fan as anyone, but I doubt the berserk armor is the “strongest”. It ignores human perception of pain, allowing them to surpass their limits. But at that point it’s still only superhuman. There are still limits to what the human body can do, and yes, while guts is pretty much the pinnacle of strength and removing his human limitations would make him insanely powerful, there are stronger pieces of gear.

I mean he retained his consciousness because he killed his inner darkness but he was still left as a cursed husk of an existence no? Skull Knight died by pretty much bleeding out. The armour will keep you fighting for as long as it can, but if the body can't fight anymore, you die. And considering he was fighting the God Hand, he likely fought his hardest until all his bones were ground into powder and all his blood left his body.
I want to see guts potentially master the berserk armor especially when they go to the fairy island to cure casca maybe they could do something to prevent guts from dying to use the armor i also want to see that the "beast of darkness" the dog like demon that influences guts or the dragonslayer to make it possible to damage the god hand
I dug the video. However, calling the Berserker armor the greatest weapon in "anime" history, is a bit of a misnomer. It only appears very briefly in the 2016 Berserk anime. The same anime that is universally hated by the Berserk fandom and for good reason. The "manga" is the one true representation of what the Berserker armor can do. Therefore, it can only be called the greatest weapon in "manga" history.
I'd say imagine Goku or Vegeta in this but thankfully they'd be too proud for the help. Edit: Also I was always under the impression that Gyseric had the Berserker armor forged after his kingdom fell and he was hell bent on his revenge path with Void.

Classic sword and sorcery genre conventions, really. Magic/sorcery (read: the powers that the Godhand have) is seen as a shortcut that the cowardly and evil take to power that corrupts them in the end, and swordsmanship (read: the trials that Guts goes through) is the other side of the coin that takes discipline, will and fortitude. On the literary end, it’s about sheer human will taking on power, which is a theme very present in Berserk.

@@Esotericwisdom1848 i understand guts lost his arm and eye during the eclipse my take on the berserker armor is it’s not going to give guts original arm and eye I think it’s gonna generate a new arm and eye and it might not look human his new arm and eye. Guts when he dived to save casca from drowning realized his basically fucked in water without an actual arm and considering where back at the boat arc and guts might go berserk and the only way for everyone to be safe from guts is if they push him to the ocean. guts might master the berserker armor when he’s literally sinking to the bottom of the ocean because no one will save him because he might go berserk again if the crew save him from drowning so I think that’s when guts will master the berserker armor guts always preserved in life and death situations and for guts to get back on the boat he will at least need a new arm.

Normally, no sense of pain is one of the dumbest powers, but Berserk was able to write it as an important story element.

@@arvintyree1109, more like trying to bury my rage and pain in weightlifting to cope with the memories after they finally started coming back after one trauma too many after having to put down my dog ten years ago. Watching him die was the last straw and I couldn't repress any more memories. I threw myself into the gym until the strain started taking its toll. I also practiced swordsmanship with a mania so singular that I would put too much stress on my body as I lost myself in the swordplay. My injuries required me to change my fighting style. And I started training until I mastered every last form my style had. But that was six years ago. I don't feel like I was in the headspace to call myself a master until last year. My family coached me through the process of rehabilitating my mind and in turn it refined my skill until my swordsmanship became as natural as breathing. I walk with a cane now, but I'm still determined to master myself. I have to before I'm ready to have children with my wife. I can't raise children if I'm too busy laying down my demons.

I love how it's really not an armor. He might as well run nude with sword in hand, that 'armor' doesn't do anything to protect the wearer, only pushing on the endless blodlust. Miura was so many years ahead of his time it's insane.

I’m as big a berserk fan as anyone, but I doubt the berserk armor is the “strongest”. It ignores human perception of pain, allowing them to surpass their limits. But at that point it’s still only superhuman. There are still limits to what the human body can do, and yes, while guts is pretty much the pinnacle of strength and removing his human limitations would make him insanely powerful, there are stronger pieces of gear.

I’m still a noob in the berserk world.. but would it be possible that SK hates (Void)the god hand because it was void (who he was maybe close friends with) that maybe tricked Sk into originally getting into the armour to help conquer the world until it took over and he single handedly destroyed his own empire and all the carnage and blood shed was voids accession to the god hand?

When did it change to Band of the Falchion? It's been awhile since I read the manga, but I keep hearing people in videos refer to the past team as Falchion instead of Hawk. I feel the name did after Griffith's return, but just wondering why no one refers to the original group as Hawk...🤔

So question, isn't the berserk armor the same thing that cursed the skull knight? I mean he retained his consciousness because he killed his inner darkness but he was still left as a cursed husk of an existence no? I mean the skull knight makes it utterly clear he died wearing the berserker armor and it was the elder witch who brought him back and bound him up in his current gear in preparation for the God hand so im just curious what is the end result of it actually causing death to the wearer? Guts seems to attempt to balance and keep his evil in check whereas skull knight likely fought to his last drop of blood
Skull Knight died by pretty much bleeding out. The armour will keep you fighting for as long as it can, but if the body can't fight anymore, you die. And considering he was fighting the God Hand, he likely fought his hardest until all his bones were ground into powder and all his blood left his body.
I want to see guts potentially master the berserk armor especially when they go to the fairy island to cure casca maybe they could do something to prevent guts from dying to use the armor i also want to see that the "beast of darkness" the dog like demon that influences guts or the dragonslayer to make it possible to damage the god hand

I dug the video. However, calling the Berserker armor the greatest weapon in "anime" history, is a bit of a misnomer. It only appears very briefly in the 2016 Berserk anime. The same anime that is universally hated by the Berserk fandom and for good reason. The "manga" is the one true representation of what the Berserker armor can do. Therefore, it can only be called the greatest weapon in "manga" history.
I'd say imagine Goku or Vegeta in this but thankfully they'd be too proud for the help. Edit: Also I was always under the impression that Gyseric had the Berserker armor forged after his kingdom fell and he was hell bent on his revenge path with Void.

It forces you to have all the strength in the world with no limitations and even if you dont want to right anymore you dont get a choice,you are put into a situation where you either fight or die like a bitch on your knees and even after death you might not get to rest
If things go too far you arent human anymore,in fact you become a monster far worse than any demon because the slaughter you bring in your wake is by instinct and blood lusting hatred rather than any kind of intelligence

Classic sword and sorcery genre conventions, really. Magic/sorcery (read: the powers that the Godhand have) is seen as a shortcut that the cowardly and evil take to power that corrupts them in the end, and swordsmanship (read: the trials that Guts goes through) is the other side of the coin that takes discipline, will and fortitude. On the literary end, it’s about sheer human will taking on power, which is a theme very present in Berserk.

If Beserk was honest with itself Guts would watch his party die around him and be forced to sacrifice everyone with the behelit just to either die by Femto (Devilman style) or live as an Apostle that kills Apostles until he’s killed by some plucky adventurer years later. If you’re expecting a happy ending, you’re reading the wrong manga.
