It wont work anyways because there is no charge behind the dart to cause an explosion. Therefore there is no pressure to move the dart forward. However, if it were a piston mechanism that instead was like a syringe to move air forward creating pressure, it would probably work.
Nerf darts will fit in any 50 caliber gun since a Nerf dart is 5 inches and 50 caliber bullets are 5 inches. So the answer is kinda, cause you need a 50 caliber gun.
