- Testing out the 2-step on the MR2. Builds 10psi at 4500rpm. Climbs to about 15psi if you hold it for a few more seconds.
Finally got it running on a chipped P06 honda ecu.
Tunning with Crome.
Genius! I wish I was smart enough to adapt a Honda ECU to my gen3. What all did you have to do to make it work? It seems like a good viable solution to the pricey options we have.
Nice... Im not completely done tuning i just got it running on the new ecu, but before the standalone ecu It was making around 300-320whp at about 12psi It had its good days and bad days on the factory ecu lol sometimes it would pull really hard and other times not nearly as much haha... Going to be running about 21psi on 91octane. Until I get bigger injectors for e-85 then the boost will go up more
Yeah It works just like a Aem or Haltech would if not better and its much cheaper.... I spent about $400 total on this setup.
Its not all that hard just takes a good amount of time to figure out which wires go where and such. A honda distributor has to be mounted to the 3s head in order for the ignition system to work correctly... That is the only mechanical change to be made everything else is just wiring
Can you show us how you did this, the wiring and repinning?
P06... You can use any OBD-1 ecu though. P06 is more common/cheaper to buy
Good afternoon how can I adapted a Honda ECU on my 91 MR2 gen2 3sgte
@josemiranda7970 hey, you have to build a custom wire harness and also have to make an adapter for a Honda distributor to mount to the 3s head and or mount a crank position trigger setup on the crank pulley. Takes some custom work for sure
Is it possible for you to that for me and what it cost me
@josemiranda7970 I definitely can, I'd recommend just running a newer standalone ecu though, like a ecumaster or haltech etc., the Honda ecus are good but much better out there now. Where are you located? You can also shoot me an email at alake2244@gmail.com
@@LakeBuilt what you recommend what all the parts needed
Aalake224, I really want to do this set up, do you have a diagram on how you did this? And where did you get the distributor's from, also what mods did you do to it and wireing. Thanks
if you don't mind i would like a write up of this ecu setup please. I'm going all motor 5sge in my 1990 Celica gt. thank you.
Honda dizzy and ign control module (built in distri for honda). Honda wires toyota leads. Redo whole harness for honda pinout. Calibrate TPS honda does higher V signals. Tune w. Crome gold w. Moates. Inj deadtimes on stock inj 430cc i dunno approx. .54 to .57 microseconds mybe. Use either honda or 3sgt resistore ballast since low impedance.
I'm trying to find out which car the ecu is for
what the best honda ecu i can get for a turboed mr2 turbo ?
like the guy below me i'd like to know how u did this because i was thinking of doing the same to my 96 camry. i have a 3sfe motor in mine as the s blew up a few yrs ago
Which Honda ecu did u use
Did you get this ecu off a k20 or b18
Any info on how to swap the honda ecu on the mr2 3sgte
I have been looking for a jumper harness to convert this.. I have extra mr2 ecu's/ harness and im a Honda guy.... PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERRE TO GET THIS HARNESS OR PIN DIAGRAM THANK YOU!!!
Did use the same tps?
Alexis Gomez no it was a Honda Tps
LakeBuilt i use the same setup obd2b in to 4age .. but a i have few problems with tps (toyota) i see in.other foros .. says calibration the tps .5v ralenti
