I think that you aren’t going overboard with all the engine mods Browney . I reckon you’ve built a tough reliable machine that has a fun factor about it with a bit of get up and go but also reliability for long trips away. Great job mate .
Thanks mate. That was the idea, make something that can still be reliable without stressing, within a reasonable budget, but that can then be built off if people want more. And of course we always want more! Dyno video will be out next week 👍
i just fitted 2x haltech can gauges last week in a falcon using one of those gauge pods wouldn't recommend was a bit disappointed for a 600 dollar gauge. Had used perfect tuning can gauge's in the past they are very nice feature packed gauge.
Hey Browny, good job with the build. I guess it's going to be 264rwKW however I do hope it's a bit more for your sake. A good solid safe streetable tune. Best of luck on the dyno!
9 psi 252 rwkw . A/f gauge and boost gauge really necessary! Hopefully after getting it base tuned you will get a pcmtec lic and tune it yourself. Main tables to look for in pcmtec is borderline knock and the lambda base table as well as AD pedal count from open loop to close loop so it doesn’t stay 14.5 to one at 10 psi boost partial throttle. Look up pcmtec , engine tuning , “ lean out under partial boost “ to see solution? Looking forward to the dyno run !
Thanks Plumbs. Not sure if I'll tune this one but is definitely something I see myself playing with in future. Hard to overcome that learning curve and keep a video interesting if I'm to go that way too though unfortunately so it becomes an extra time suck! Interesting reading your thread on that topic though, something I'll hav eto keep an eye out for in this.
Loving the gauges Browny👍 I installed Volts and oil pressure.. as I have an XR8…. I have the same problem with the way that plate sits and only other thing I found was the gauges came out when I accelerated quickly 😂 Just put tape on the inside… easy fix👍
Exactly what I did! I have Tesa tape here, sort of a fabric tape for wrapping electric looms and seems to work great for helping keep the gauges in there. Thanks mate 👍
I think it’ll be somewhere between 200-215rwkw considering the stock setup. I know it’s not an exact number but it’s readings can change depending on tuner and whether it’s hub or roller
Fair, dyno figures are always a bit hit and miss, with that level of accuracy anyway. Good for a bit of fun though! Ok with anything in that range anyway, let’s see.
Loving the series so far, she's come a long way from the old 16+ second stock BA, let's hope she's around high 13, low to mid 14's for the next drag run, it's a far guess but worth a shot in advance. My guess for the dyno run will be 253kw to the rear wheels, but the more the better Would be sick once you get the manual conversion underway at a later date giving you even more powerrr, it's a pity that the 4spd auto box's rob so much power Take care mate!
Thanks very much mate, it's been a lot of fun to progress with it and it may not be done just yet! Fingers crossed we can dip into the 13's with this, not sure we'll be manual converting it any time soon though. The BTR's are just so cheap, can hold a reasonable amount of power for not a great deal of work and we will have another manual car back in the fleet coming up. Never say never though! Thanks again for watching along mate 👍
Hmmm.. stock ba xr6t runs 6psi for ~210 to 220 rwkw. Higher compression and more boost, you seem to value driveability and reliability over outright power.. I will say 232.4rwkw. 😎
Sure that’s at stock boost or turned up a little? I know Maxx list around that power for there BA stage 1 not sure on boost level though. Correct, and fingers crossed.
270 kW if the tuners are prepared to push it. Just up to the trans if it flears or not to see it at the rear wheels. Because your car has shift kits Australia kit it should make 270 at the rear wheel anything more and the no turbo trans won't be happy. Good luck mate and thanks for the wonderful video's.
Ba bf f6s have 270kw and they run 7 pound boost and XR6 turbos run at 245kw at 5 pound so if your getting it tuned on non turbo should be 260/270 at the rear wheel. By the way love your channel mate keep up the good content.

Stock XR6T at the wheel on the dyno we’re going to typically are anywhere from 170-190rwkw I believe, not sure on F6. And thanks very much for the support mate, appreciate it and hope you enjoy what we have coming up.
I have seen a stock na plus turbo make 270 at the rear wheels but the btr was not happy and was flearing all gears and had to be turned down to 260 was still flearing all the gears but driving it you couldn't feel it flearing.

I'm thinking you're right in the money there somewhere Glen, have a crack mate 👍. Hopefully towards the higher end but it's a guess for me too still. Will be same tuners, Maxx over in Dandenong.

262rwkw, but i guess its all up to your tuner and how far he wants to push it vs how long you want it to stay reliable. anything above 220rwkw with chu chu sounds is a bonus
Just wanted to peoples opinion on running my car. I currently have a mk2 fg f6 and it's completely stock atm. I'm looking to mod it up to make more power. Just wondering, will 350-380rwkw be okay for a stock zf and motor? I don't want to lose too much reliability so don't want crazy power. I'm thinking 350 will be safeish but 380 might be pushing it. Thoughts guys?
Not putting valve springs in it? I would be. Cause we all know once you tune it you will want more power haha. And the valve springs will be holding it way back, Even on a N/A designed engine. These things a tough as even at 15psi on a std N/A engine is easy done :) and reliable. Keep up the good work
Edit: 245.7rwkw I'll be replacing my clock with gauges even tho mines 5.4 na. Oil pressure and oil temp gauges. Where I live it regularly hits 48-49 degrees Celsius with roads literally melting so I'd like to keep an eye on oil pressure and temp.
Question for you, have just installed a saas gauge with colour changing functionality, by all accounts the cigarette lighter positive and negative are the wires to use, however they are supposed to supply a ‘constant’ 12V (I think) and therefore help the gauge to remember what colour it has been set to. However, every time I turn the car off and on again, the colour returns to default (green). I have put a test light in the positive wire connector for the cigarette lighter and when the car is off, it does not get power. Any ideas?
Cigarette lighter will be switched power only. I can’t off the top of my head think of a good constant to pinch power from, maybe somewhere in behind the ICC or fuse panel down next to drivers feet would be a good place to look. Good luck mate 👍

Keep up the good work
323rwkw since you haven’t done valve springs and head bolts
😲 We may be a bit short of that due to lack of electronic boost control and basically factory parts too. I like the positivity though 👍
With that beard He's slowly evolving into Clint from Pokeys Mechanical
Had to suss that for myself. Beard is getting close but the hair on top is never again going to match 🤣
240rwkw well that’s what mine made haha
Nice, what boost?
‘Straya’!!! 🇦🇺
I reckon it'll be 220rwkw
16:09 is where you have me completely lost :(
got a code from a BA wagon, VCT Overetarded. Sounds expensive, any ideas mate?
Love the channel , I hope it gets at least 261kw haha!!
Don't think we'll manage that just yet but I can dream, one day!
Hey mate, does your ba have the 4 speed auto box ?
Yep, that’s correct.
Edit: 245.7rwkw
I'll be replacing my clock with gauges even tho mines 5.4 na. Oil pressure and oil temp gauges. Where I live it regularly hits 48-49 degrees Celsius with roads literally melting so I'd like to keep an eye on oil pressure and temp.
Damn, I’d melt too! Can absolutely understand you wanted to go that way, hope the video helps at least a little 👍
Im gonna guess 225rwkw safe tune, Maxed out 249rwkw
320rwkw at 8psi
Random news because I got nothing to say
