Having just traveled from JFK to London and back in this class, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was superb, cubicle was very clean. Food was good but not superb. Plentiful. Comfortable seating and sleeping positions. No complaints with anything.

When I fly BA business I was actually surprised at home good the lounge was at T5. The lunch set up was excellent and the afternoon tea set up lovely. The finger sandwich’s so soft I had to hold myself back from gobbling a lot more and the scones perfect. Of course the down side was being so big it was busy and crowded.

Premium Economy service. Three hours into a night flight to serve the meal is unacceptable. Neglecting to pick up your drinks glass (wh. in the event of turbulence will become a dangerous projectile), and the vile looking food... the Club Suite is an improvement. It shows BA has been dragged kicking and sceaming into the 1990s. As always, a brilliant trip report.
You obviously have no idea about service or airline protocol or other issues that could be taking place . BA are now far better than a lot of airlines including middle eastern airlines . I now only fly BA in first or club and won’t use other airlines

I definitely prefer Emirates to Maldives. Unfortunately they currently use the old 777 and don’t have an A350 for that route. I prefer the A350’s 1-2-1 layout with seats parallel to the aircraft’s flight rather than the herring bone style.
My favourite mini game in your videos is when you pan around the cabin in flight, I try and guess what movies people are watching from the glimpse of their screens 😊
The lounge was rather a disappointment ... except for the horse. I am a fan of horse statues 😊!! The breakfast looked the best out of all the food. The cabin appears comfortable! I would expect more out of the map selection as it seemed pretty basic! But! A very smoothe landing! Great shot of the plane's shadow gliding like a bird over the beaches and then taking on the form of a shark in the water!! Splendid catch, dear LTE!! I hope that you get some dive time! It is always amazing how long people need to stow their stuff. I have my little bag with Air Pods + charging cable on top of my bag, a hoody jacket already on, and I throw my bag into the overhead locker. Here you see people getting up, blocking aisle, getting their bag out again, taking something out, give way so other passengers can walk by, then all reversed, just to be repeated a minute later. People, try to organise yourself a little. Pack your carry on with Tupper ware containers with a selection of clothes you need in case your checked bag is most. Roll your clothes up, it is amazing how much you can stow in four containers. Flip Flops and light trainers are sufficient for a Maldives resort. The before mentioned hoody is essential, for sleep, for an unpleasant draft. Pack your medication, and some sun protection and after sun product (organic Jojoba oil). You don’t need anything else in your carry on bag! I flew for many many many years as cabin crew. My Tupper ware containers travelled around the world with me, I had to use them several times over the years. Best part: you just leave them in your cabin bag. Even after several months the clothes smell like freshly washed in case you need to open them and use the clothes!
I started flying BA premium cabins in 1991, for business, and continued a couple of times a month until 2012...now, it's a couple of times a year. In the early 90's, the seat was the old 'cradle' style. The advertising at the time would have you believe you could get a wonderful nights sleep in them - not quite true. However, in 2000, the new (now old) 'yin-yang' flat-bed seats were introduced and they really made a difference to long-haul flying. The New-New Club seating is a great advance but I think, that's where the service stops. The Club lounges are now packed, the menu on board is really not up to scratch - the Maldives choice shown in this excellent video would never be acceptable even 5 years ago - two mains a vegetarian and a couple of desserts is about the same standard as an old Club Europe lunch . IAG give with one hand but take away with the other...much like all large service companies these days I suppose.
I have flown on this aircraft several times for transatlantic flights. If you’re flying with your spouse make sure you sit one behind the other in aisle seats. We’re seniors. If you sit side by side in the center it’s very difficult to get from one isle to the other during boarding to assist with overhead carryons. Also on my last BA flight the young woman in front of me told the FA she was allergic to nuts as they began to pass them out. So they announced no nuts would be served on the aircraft.
Love BA swapped back to them as they offer far better service than many airlines including Middle East carriers. Always great crew and service spot on and improving month on month

Hey Traveler. From Snow Skiing to the Maldives !! Who is accompanying you on this leg?? I was watching a video yesterday about the new Ritz Carlton Yachts Series. Very interesting. You end this set with a spread of Million Dollar Sunset film. Very Nice. (I still think Aman Zoe - was my favorite sunset). I would like to do a "God's of Olympus" Photo Shoot at that location.
I have never been a fan of BA having flown with them several times over the years. I must say however, their new business class looks like a huge improvement over the previous one where you had to step over people to get to the aisle if you were seated at the window. The service, food and seat itself look to be much improved. Not sure about the breakfast tomato however. Looking forward to your resort review. 👍
Have been waiting for you to review BA new club suite. We travel from uk to HKG and onwards 1-2 per year business class, but past years BA have dropped the ball with their business model, and we have used Cathay or Emirates instead. Would love to get back flying with BA again, pride, Britishness maybe.🤔
I booked a ba business class on 777 for this week thinking it would be like this but the seat map is showing a 2-4-2 plan which means it's the old version....to say I am furious is an understatement haha

Care to elaborate? I’ve flown QR and EK in both F and J. I have found EK J to be fairly underwhelming, particularly on its 777s, with 2-3-2 seating. Qatar’s QSuites are fine, but the hard product is overhyped honestly (I really dislike the rear facing seats where your shoulder is against the wall like economy class). Food on QR is pretty good. This BA J class absolutely looks comparable to both EK and QR. The food presentation could use some work, but I would definitely take BA over either of the other 2 for a non-stop, rather than a stopover in Doha or Dubai. The last time I checked, Singapore doesn’t do non-stop from London to the Maldives either. So what exactly is your point, other than to parrot something you’ve read on the internet? I presume you aren’t referring to Egyptair as one of the Middle Eastern carriers, of course!😂
Last time I flew BA out-of Heathrow it was horrendous. The plane was late for several hours, no reason given. They didn't get all the meals loaded son on a 12 hour flight that I requested a specific meal for eaxh meal service, I didn't get any. They offeres me another meal but I couldn't eat it because of allergies. No apologies. No snacks offered. The flight staff were rude. My seat wouldn't go into bed mode. So they moved my seat to an empty one, that one was empty for a reason. It was stained and smelled horrendous. Went back to my other seat and tried getting some sleep but the attendant came around every hour to check my safety belt was on since it was a turbulent flight. Miserable experience. BA of course gave me $200 off my next flight for compensation. Wow!
Come on now - from your description, one would believe you flew in a hearse. Imagine a flight attendant coming around every hour on a turbulent flight to confirm that passengers had seat belts fastened. The horror! A bit precious, aren’t we?

Great video! However that lounge is lousy looking compared to many other lounges. I’ve flown BA twice and both have been sub par and I won’t care to ever fly them again.
This flight report only means one thing; several hours of Soneva and ??? are coming soon. 😄 In the meantime, the sheer volume of people in the lounge is absurd. I would have sat on the horse to be honest.
Food doesn't look appealing. The roasted cauliflower soup could use a swirl of cilantro (green) or red pepper on top of it. Chicken supreme could be arranged in other way: gnocchi first, chicken on top of it and the veggies on top of the chicken in cascade. I hope it taste way better than it looks
That dinner service doesn't look very premium at all. The breakfast wasn't much better, especially the eggs. I know that British Airways club suites tend to be highly expensive, so for this route I'd sacrifice having a layover to fly Qatar Airways Qsuite instead. Interestingly, the Qatar fare may actually be lower because of the layover.
Interesting. I’ve always found BA to be less expensive than QR. I’d definitely fly this cabin versus QSuite (particularly the rearward facing seats in that overhyped cabin) - one is non-stop and the other requires a layover in DOH. The whole point is to get from Point A to Point B, after all.
@@pacmanc8103 If you prefer Club Suite over QSuite, I'd question if you've ever flown QSuite. It's currently the gold standard for business class travel. Also, nonstop almost always cost more than layover flights, because, as you said, most people just want to get from A to B. An av geek like me doesn't mind a layover, because it's more time in the air.
@@sainnt Ah, I flew QSuite on a 777 6 weeks ago from Seattle to Doha and an A350 non-QSuite from Doha to Jeddah, where I spend winter months. QSuite the entire return to Seattle at the end of the month. QSuite WAS the standard for business class when it was introduced 7-8 years ago, but certainly no longer. If you’re an av geek who actually flies rather than watch You Tube videos, you’d know QSuite is mostly marketing hype now. BA’s new Club Suite is every bit as nice for single travelers - my main concerns are footwells in lie down flat position and not being scrunched up against windows and walls like the rear-facing QSuite requires. Claustrophobic and the side table blocks easy access to the aisle, especially when attempting to get out from lie-down position. The best thing QSuite had going for it over BA from SEA-JED is price. Next year, it’ll be Saudia.
@@pacmanc8103 You think I just watch UA-cam videos! 🤣🤣🤣 One thing I can tell you is that QSuite, whatever hype it may be, is miles better than BA Club. If you'd traveled in Club Suite and actually think it's better, I respect your preference, but respectfully disagree. At this point, I've traveled to more than 55 countries, so in all likelihood I spend more time on airplanes than the average person, though not always in upper class. It would behoove you not to make assumptions about people you don't know. QSuite on an A350 is a better experience than the 777 because it's a quieter, more comfortable aircraft, and with Qatar Airways now being under new leadership, it's possible that the service may have been downgraded in recent months, but the hard product is still better than most even if the soft product is no longer. Qatar Airways will soon be unveiling a new business class product, and I'm eager to see what they come up with next.
An extremely high quality compilation, but with no spoken narration & the gentle muzak, I found myself nodding off long before the end of the very long 43 minutes. Flight reviews are such a competitive world nowadays, & IMHO short, appropriate clips best capture everyone’s attention, with all packaged up in probably half the running time. Just saying…
Ecen the most enthusiastic advertorial can't pretend that BA's IT systems and resulting unreliability, failed comm's and absence of support when things go wrong is not luxurious.... The effective absence of customer services to deal with claims after the fact and active lies and obfuscation to deny legally due outbound payments clinches the deal... BA are a once great, bottom scraping carrier harvesting cash from their inherited position. Fine when nothing goes wrong but worse than the locosts when it does and therefore Best Avoided

that lounge looked extremely busy, I couldn't find a seat for 2 until the very end. Even a single seat were rare.

They offeres me another meal but I couldn't eat it because of allergies. No apologies. No snacks offered. The flight staff were rude. My seat wouldn't go into bed mode. So they moved my seat to an empty one, that one was empty for a reason. It was stained and smelled horrendous. Went back to my other seat and tried getting some sleep but the attendant came around every hour to check my safety belt was on since it was a turbulent flight. Miserable experience. BA of course gave me $200 off my next flight for compensation. Wow!
Come on now - from your description, one would believe you flew in a hearse. Imagine a flight attendant coming around every hour on a turbulent flight to confirm that passengers had seat belts fastened. The horror! A bit precious, aren’t we?

Great video! However that lounge is lousy looking compared to many other lounges. I’ve flown BA twice and both have been sub par and I won’t care to ever fly them again.
I totally disagree ba lounges are good compared with other lounges.
This flight report only means one thing; several hours of Soneva and ??? are coming soon. 😄
In the meantime, the sheer volume of people in the lounge is absurd. I would have sat on the horse to be honest.

Food doesn't look appealing. The roasted cauliflower soup could use a swirl of cilantro (green) or red pepper on top of it. Chicken supreme could be arranged in other way: gnocchi first, chicken on top of it and the veggies on top of the chicken in cascade. I hope it taste way better than it looks
That dinner service doesn't look very premium at all. The breakfast wasn't much better, especially the eggs. I know that British Airways club suites tend to be highly expensive, so for this route I'd sacrifice having a layover to fly Qatar Airways Qsuite instead. Interestingly, the Qatar fare may actually be lower because of the layover.
Interesting. I’ve always found BA to be less expensive than QR. I’d definitely fly this cabin versus QSuite (particularly the rearward facing seats in that overhyped cabin) - one is non-stop and the other requires a layover in DOH. The whole point is to get from Point A to Point B, after all.
@@pacmanc8103 If you prefer Club Suite over QSuite, I'd question if you've ever flown QSuite. It's currently the gold standard for business class travel.
Also, nonstop almost always cost more than layover flights, because, as you said, most people just want to get from A to B. An av geek like me doesn't mind a layover, because it's more time in the air.
@@sainnt Ah, I flew QSuite on a 777 6 weeks ago from Seattle to Doha and an A350 non-QSuite from Doha to Jeddah, where I spend winter months. QSuite the entire return to Seattle at the end of the month. QSuite WAS the standard for business class when it was introduced 7-8 years ago, but certainly no longer. If you’re an av geek who actually flies rather than watch You Tube videos, you’d know QSuite is mostly marketing hype now. BA’s new Club Suite is every bit as nice for single travelers - my main concerns are footwells in lie down flat position and not being scrunched up against windows and walls like the rear-facing QSuite requires. Claustrophobic and the side table blocks easy access to the aisle, especially when attempting to get out from lie-down position. The best thing QSuite had going for it over BA from SEA-JED is price. Next year, it’ll be Saudia.

One thing I can tell you is that QSuite, whatever hype it may be, is miles better than BA Club. If you'd traveled in Club Suite and actually think it's better, I respect your preference, but respectfully disagree.
At this point, I've traveled to more than 55 countries, so in all likelihood I spend more time on airplanes than the average person, though not always in upper class. It would behoove you not to make assumptions about people you don't know.
QSuite on an A350 is a better experience than the 777 because it's a quieter, more comfortable aircraft, and with Qatar Airways now being under new leadership, it's possible that the service may have been downgraded in recent months, but the hard product is still better than most even if the soft product is no longer.
Qatar Airways will soon be unveiling a new business class product, and I'm eager to see what they come up with next.

An extremely high quality compilation, but with no spoken narration & the gentle muzak, I found myself nodding off long before the end of the very long 43 minutes. Flight reviews are such a competitive world nowadays, & IMHO short, appropriate clips best capture everyone’s attention, with all packaged up in probably half the running time. Just saying…

Ecen the most enthusiastic advertorial can't pretend that BA's IT systems and resulting unreliability, failed comm's and absence of support when things go wrong is not luxurious.... The effective absence of customer services to deal with claims after the fact and active lies and obfuscation to deny legally due outbound payments clinches the deal... BA are a once great, bottom scraping carrier harvesting cash from their inherited position.
Fine when nothing goes wrong but worse than the locosts when it does and therefore Best Avoided
Business class is garbage.
