- This video is both a travel report and a documentary film about Yunnan, China where I was in August 2012.
The first 20 minutes are about LIJIANG (Old Town, Naxi Music, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Old Town of Shuhe).
The next 20 minutes are about DAL (Ancient City, Lake Erhai, Three Pagodas, New University).
The last 20 Minutes are about KUNMING (Flowers&Birds Market, Green Lake, City Center, Park of Yunnan Minorities).

I have been to Beijing, Xian, Quilin and Shanghai 5 years ago. It was a remarkable experience. This video convince me that my next visit to China will include Yunnan and nearby places like Chengdu and Chongqing. I am sure it will be an unforgetable experience.
I have seen 100s of travel videos but this one was the best. Detailed, informative and well edited. Covered all aspects of peoples lives and culture. Thanks for your time and effort.

MG, thank you for the excellent documentary and I'm looking forward for my trip to all the 3 cities (Kunming,Dali & Lijiang) soon. The informations are very helpful to plan out my stay in the 3 cities. Keep up the good work.
I have been there twice and absolutely loved it. SO beautiful and fresh. You could smell the dirt in the mountains. My friend owns an organic coffee plantation there. I want to move from the USA to Xishuangbanna. Food was excellent. I was there 8 months ago and miss it so much. If you have the opportunity to go, please do. It's the best province of China by far. No pollution and people are so nice.
I've been stuck in the USA too long. Every American city looks the same, strip malls, Mcdonalds, Walmarts. This video is good stuff!

Excellent overview. I will visit each of these ares next week with my girlfriend and her friends. I appreciated the time you took to present the "small things" in each area. Your facts also made for a very enjoyable viewing experience. I cannot imagine how much video footage you shot to get over one hour for the final video production. Keep up the good work!

I was at these places many years ago. I kept turning my photo album pages to relive the memories of the short but interesting visit to such beautiful landscape and the friendly peoples of the hills. Excellent place for another visit from an elderly in Singapore
I has been lived in China until my late 20s, but shame to me that I never got chance to visit Yunnan. Lijiang, Dali, Xishuang Banna, and Shangri La, are my most longing places to go. I shall make Yunnan my immediate top destinations to go when I visit China next time.

Abdul...history tell us that some Indonesian ancestor came from Yunnan, China long years ago.
MG - Thanks a lot for your great doc on beautiful landscape and peaceful living in Yunnan which is very enjoyable. You've covered many interesting and inspiring little things which sometimes we forgot to enjoy especially in this rushy time.
The 10 year olds at the end are not only lovely but so smart.

this part of China looks very natural and beautiful mountains, not like most big cities in China full of a lot of people and cars and big boxes of buildings.

Are there any martial arts temples in Yunnan where a person could base themselves for periods of time between excursions? I would very much like to train and develop a strong foundation including discipline.
