Zeroing in on Katsura as the husbando is kinda wild. The runtime of just the openings is enough to gleam quite a lot about the show. It's fun to see what blind watchers get from them.
The black suit people are the Shinsengumi, a lot of characters are references to real life people for example Gintoki is based on Kintaro (according to the legend, he changed his name to Sakata no Kintoki), Katsura Kotaro on Katsura Kogoro etc.. The Shinsengumi is based on the real Shinsengumi and of course the 3 (Commander, Demonic Vice Commander, and the 1st division Captain) are also based on real people.
Gintama is one of the funniest show in general, not just in animes. It works because it's shamelessly make fun of literally everything with really likable characters at the top of Gintoki. After those fun times the show loves to throw you into the serious parts. From tense action and memorable fights to emotional and sad or deep scenes. Then back to the fun. This loop keeps better and smarter to the point where you enjoy Gintama like nothing else. It takes time to invest yourself into the show, but in the end, you'll be happy to make this choice.
@ the guy with silver hair(or blueish hair?) - Gintoki Sakata - King of all trolls and a total badass. @ the guy with long black hair - Katsura Kotaro - his past comrades called him 'Zura'(Wig), a total moron, sort of quirky and also a total badass @ the guy with dark violet hair with one eye - Takasugi Shinsuke - Totally not sane person, the man who wanted to destroy the world, and also a total badass @ The guy with braided orange hair - Kamui (no last name ig) - a glutton, also Kagura's older bro(the girl with orange hair and buns, and also a gluton), and to are total badass @ The guy with a bit darker skin with few facial hairs and also had a black suit from the black squad - Kondo Isao - A stalker, a gorilla and an M. He too was the leader of the black squad. could also be a badass @ The guy with black hair and keeps smoking cancer stick, also had a black suit from the black squad - Hijikata Toshiro - A mayo freak, and also badass. He's the vice leader of the squad. He could be a moron sometimes. @ The guy with dirty blonde hair(short ofc, im reffering also had a black suit from the black squad) - Sougo Okita - An S, tries to kill Hijikata Toshiro in many ways lol. He wanted to kill him so he could claim Hijikata's position as vice leader lol.
And yes Gintoki is basically a traumatized guy who is finding therapy in his new life style which is a very great story by the way Also in Gintama: pre 300 ep it was 80% comedy 20% serious After 300 episode it was 80% serious 20% comedy And let me say the comedy is diverse and just hilarious and I’m the type who doesn’t find most things in life or anime funny but with gintama I laugh out so loud, HOWEVER when it gets serious it gets so intense that you could cry I know I did in every serious arc Also the comedy isn’t always parodies Edit\\2 You did not just call “sh*** “ Gin’s mom😂

Gintama is so good, every time you watch an single episode you want more and the VAs are top tier that if you watch an another anime and recognize the voices you can'take the characters so serious because Gintama possesses a lot of VA popular. Like Katsura Kotaro (guy with long hair) share the same voice as Gaara in Naruto. Or also Sakata Gintoki share the same voice as Escanor in 7 Deadly Sins. Trust me it's worth watching!

Gintoki has a very tragic backstory and he’s one of the best main characters ever, super relatable and unique. You should watch 1 second of every Gintama episode vid or top 10 best Gintama fights
I think its good that you start with Naruto :) Gintama is full of references, its parodied/mocked a lot of shonen/anime tropes, hence its best that you become familiar with that tropes first. Gintama is special, one of a kind, its full of lmao comedy to total badass fights to a lot of heartwarming pulling your heartstring moments, and life lessons. hoo boy there a lot of life lessons contained in this full of toilet jokes anime. Still my favorite anime to this day. Hope you will enjoy your Gintama experience too :) ps: good choice, the guy with long hair definitely best husbando. Pls check Gintama ED 7, it's full of shirtless Gintama boys lol. I have to agree, Gintama cast are gorgeouuus, and the author developed each of them good, I mean not only the main characters but also all the side characters, there's no one left behind. Thats why you see all the same people from OP1 to OP21

Gintama is very interesting 😊 highly recommended for u to check this out!! The comedy is GOAT-TIER. It hits you with the emotional strings with it’s beliefs and thoughtful words when it needs to. Awesome comedy, Slice of life, actions/fights, bloody, crazy backstories, monsters, aliens. It got everything...... laid back, chill, and enjoy! Before you realize it, you already go it’s flow :) Gintama is like anti-despression/stress pills.
Im now on Episode 82 and i must say the Show now hooked me the Comedy is exactly my type there was just one episode about toilettpaper and it was great
Gintama is weird but its actually pretty funny, and some of the episode has sad one and serious one, which make you feel hyped and teary eyed. It was one of the unique anime out there!
Personal opinion, I suggest you to watch the big 3 first and then save Gintama for the last (I'm the type to save the best for the last). Hope you don't be like me. After watching Gintama, a complete masterpiece, other anime no matter how awesome they are, seems normal to me :'( But at least I'm so glad I decided to watch Gintama just a month ago instead of way back in the years, because if I do, I don't know how I can stay watching anime seeing they all while Gintama is stucked in my head in every single thing that I watch 19:16 actually I like it better if reactors less talk when reacting to OP or ED. It shows they are focusing. The quieter they are the better. But recently someone said reactors talk to lessen the copyright claim/strike so if that's the reason they're talking so much, so oh well..
