The best bit is at the very end when the interviewer who admitted she was a gushing, drooling fan girl for 30 years (displayed her official fan club membership) she was so shy and asked him in a soft voice "can I touch you?" such a sweet manner - Adam Ant so gracious, kind and gentle - when he said "ooooh don't be silly" and he planted a big smoochy kiss on her cheek What a prince among men - he is adorable and charming! Forthcoming, honest and brave to speak openly about bipolar illness
What a lovely guy - appears to have a complete lack of ego, when he would be entitled to one. Todays "celebrities" take note. Been a fan for 35 years, he is top class.
Agreed. I fell in love with him when I was about 12. I'm pushing 50. But, I made sure my kids knew that I would accept their music, and them, because I'm sure my stoned out 1970s irresponsible parents sure did disparage my music. I loved adam ant because he was so different. From anything I had ever seen/heard. I made a point. To listen to my kids music and listen to them yell me why they loved it. I thank him do much.
can i touch you?...ah dont be silly :) that was sweet. adam has gone through so much shit from his illness but hes still smiling and fighting those damn demons so proud of this man
I worked security (I'm a female officer) at the Hard Rock Orlando when Adam Ant came to town. It took alot for me to remain aloof and professional (yeah right!) when he walked towards me in the dressing room area-he smiled and is dashingly handsome, older but wiser-and sexy oh my! Those lips! Those eyes! :)
This man is an exceptional human being. He has put into words so much that I (and many people) have dealt with most my life. I never imagined Adam Ant would become a hero of mind, but he sure is worthy of recognition, more so for not relying solely on his past fame, but using his pop icon status to help bring attention to mental illness, its stigmas and solutions.
My ex partner suffered with OCD and borderline personality disorder, her whole family have mental issues, her mum has schizophrenia, the dad depression, I was abused as a child, I watched my mum die when I was 11. I was given alcohol at 6 so I could be abused.im now an alcoholic, I need help , please
@@johnmarsden9778 lm sorry for what you're going through. I'm not a professional, but your asking for help is a huge step that you've already taken, that can be the most difficult, and l admire you for being able to do it. The more l experience the more l realize how many people have been abused or mistreated by others, and it is a harsh reality; but we have to try really hard to remember there is also a lot of good in the world, and we have to try our best to seek it out. Surround yourself with positive people, stay away from depressing movies, documentaries, do the things you enjoy most. Also, avoid being too reliant on technology and try to move, moving our physical bodies produces our natural chemicals that will fight off depression. Even doing jumping jacks, or just jogging in place can help. Go walking, get outside and try to appreciate nature. This is all advice l have to take myself when my depression creeps back in. Writing here on UA-cam tastes great bravery, so it's okay to her doing that. People like me will hear you and respond and do our best to lend support when we can. Try to remember life is an amazing gift, and no matter how unfairly we've been treated by others or affected by outside circumstances beyond our control, we can learn to dust ourselves off and find ways to appreciate this gift. Try to make the most of our lives while we're here because it doesn't last forever.
use technology to find the many resources out there to help us with depression or drug addiction. Search the internet for free counseling, there is help out there, free clinics, hospitals, there are places you can go or people to talk to if you look. I wish you the best.
Also, alcohol is a horrible drug when abused. I'm a musician who's played in bars the past thirty years, and the best thing l did for my mental and physical health is quit drinking.
As a kid in the eighties, my mom used to listen to Adam Ant while smoking her joints and watering her plants. Looking at Adam, iam convinced hes a Vampire. He looks fucking great
She is an excellent interviewer because she asks meaningful questions. So many other interviewers ask inane, banal questions - but this is an in depth interview. I am dazzled just how YOUNG, dewy and fresh he looks - and especially because his pulchritude looks so natural - not a face pumped full of Botox - he looks phenomenal. I'm thrilled he is back in action, touring, releasing records - I have adored this man for years.
I'm way late on learning about AA, even though the vinyl was laying around when I was a little one. He caught my attention opening up about his mental health issues. Its a courageous thing to do and it turns out I like his tunes too!
Does it really matter that his hair has gone and hos teeth are not sparkling clean, ffs, this is what it is like when you get old and you are also on meds. i dont look like i used to either when i used to bounce around my moms living room. Im not in my late 40's wish i could of met him, have no chance no, due to health conditions im now in a wheel chair. would love to give him a hug tho. I think a lot of his life has been kept out of the lime light which i guess is a good thing. Im glad hes got back up on stage tho and still singing, beat most of the bands these days as music in this day and age has gone down the pan. love what you do and keep doing it. Live life to the full and dont let any one stop you. xx
I saw Adam and the Ants play Birmingham New Street Odean 40 years ago. It was my first gig. My dad took me there, but we only had one ticket, so I went in alone. I was bedazzled. I also met his manager and his parents outside the venue.
Now that I think of it your right; he was doing his thing before Johnny Depp came along. I still like Johnny Depp don't get me wrong, but Adam is the best pirate. Imitation is the best form of flattery..
unfortunately he's been balding for years! always covered it up though. this is from an interview he did with the guardian recently - 'he has to wear hats and bandanas to disguise the fact that he is now bald. He was always very conscious of his own beauty - "I think to be a pop star you need sex, subversion, style and humour" - and the hair loss seems gratuitously cruel. "Yeah," he admits with quiet sadness. "It was pretty awful.' he seems to have altered his new image around it.
The interviewer bears a remarkable resembles to Adam's stalker in the US. I bet he was shocked when he saw her and thought, omg, she's out and in Australia!
I always what wondered what happened to him. I was cyberstalked by my ex-husband for 4 and 1/2 years. People pretending like your fears aren't real , it's horrible.
And back then , they weren't very many laws about stalking. Im glad he is ok and seems to be doing well. I feel awful that he had to drop out of music for so long. He's so talented and he was just about 2.5 years ahead of any and all trends.
She seems nice, but clueless as to how important her role was in interviewing him, not so much the pop star, but human being. In a way, her stupid request shows how ignorant fanatics (fans) can be in treating an artist as a piece of meat for them to devour. She would have done well to just simply shake his hand.
my gosh how 'outrageous' of you, coming here with your strong language and misguided usage of capital letters, no one said he hasn't been bald for 20 years lol

That was beautiful.
He is lovely
Saw Adam Ant live in ‘84. Was a fan for years before, and since. I love his honesty, humanity, and realty. Still a beautiful soul. Love you, sir!

Adam Ant seems like such a kind, intelligent person.

Adam Ant is such a nice man! Good to see him doing well :-)

I really didn't get how progressive his music was back in the day. He is intelligent, Thoughtful, and insightful. Great human being!
Compelling and articulate man, no wonder he made such great music.
As a kid in the eighties, my mom used to listen to Adam Ant while smoking her joints and watering her plants. Looking at Adam, iam convinced hes a Vampire. He looks fucking great
all he's gone thru he still looks amazing
doesnt drink doesnt smoke...is what he does...
This man is beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL ❤️ OMG....I am drooling.....DROOLING !!!!!!
He always was.
But mostly because he isn't just a pretty face. Im sure he has a beautiful brain.
I just love him😍❤️

Level headed, smart and sexy. Wow! So nice.
Wow, such an authentic, wonderfully humble man.. beautiful soul and beautiful outwardly
Such a handsome, creative, balanced musician and soul. His music brought so much joy to me!
Love the way he looks and he really looks after himself all these years ...Love his music Angie
He is surprisingly well preserved...
Good interview, he speaks alot of truth here. He is a good dude.
I love when she asks if she can touch him, and he says, "Don't be silly." and kisses her. Gah! ♥
I'm way late on learning about AA, even though the vinyl was laying around when I was a little one. He caught my attention opening up about his mental health issues. Its a courageous thing to do and it turns out I like his tunes too!
Still in love since 1983...
Does it really matter that his hair has gone and hos teeth are not sparkling clean, ffs, this is what it is like when you get old and you are also on meds. i dont look like i used to either when i used to bounce around my moms living room. ADAM ANT Knows How Much 🤔 About Mental Healthcare In His Life 👋 😳 🙄 🤣 Time ⏲ 😳 🙄 🤣 👏 😑!So SHY&CUTE! WHEN HE SMILES AT Her!
58 YEARS OLD!?!?!? Very, very few men look that GREAT at 30 let alone 58!! Adam Ant is a living testimony to clean living!
Great Interview he has great points of view

I actually cried a little at the end
Bloody hell. He's 58?? Never would have taken him for that age.
Good interview! Thank you for the upload.
Love him loads

Oh, I love Johnny as Jack Sparrow too, but Adam was all over this and still owns it. Love them both! You are correct, about imitation and flattery. ;)
Hes still gorgeous ❤❤❤😘😘😘
He is Brilliant 👏
A really good interview!
Now that I think of it your right; he was doing his thing before Johnny Depp came along. I still like Johnny Depp don't get me wrong, but Adam is the best pirate. Imitation is the best form of flattery..
My god this man is heavenly gorgeous 🥰
such a nice guy, and for 58 he still looks brilliant and much better than other guys half his age! love him, but the interviewer is clueless
"Can I please touch you?" Was the creepiest way to ask for a hug oh
That was so cringeworthy! :-)
I'm so annoyed with myself for missing his Australian tour.
Correction: Johnny Depp looks like Adam Ant... or tries to. ;P
He's looking really well! Seriously, has he even aged one year?
unfortunately he's been balding for years! always covered it up though. this is from an interview he did with the guardian recently -
'he has to wear hats and bandanas to disguise the fact that he is now bald. He was always very conscious of his own beauty - "I think to be a pop star you need sex, subversion, style and humour" - and the hair loss seems gratuitously cruel. he seems to have altered his new image around it.
Adam Ant Rocks ! Pun intended,,,,,,,,
Good to see him doing well. Just curious, has he lost his hair on his head? He's wearing hats in all sorts of these later interviews?
He is as good in the flesh trust me!!
I for one could care less that Adam is bald. A lot of men are-he's still incredibly gorgeous and sexy as hell. I'd be with him in a second!
faeryquene you are sooo lucky ! It must've been hard not to want to kiss him :)
You lucky woman x
Omg he's better looking as an older mature man.
Man he looks just like Johnny Depp.
The interviewer bears a remarkable resembles to Adam's stalker in the US. I bet he was shocked when he saw her and thought, omg, she's out and in Australia!
Paul and Ancila LOL
correction, johnny depp has got the adam ant look! haha lol
oh adman ant is such a babe
Nice guy Cool dude
I always what wondered what happened to him. I was cyberstalked by my ex-husband for 4 and 1/2 years. People pretending like your fears aren't real , it's horrible.

He's still highly into image with his look at me costume
nice guy adam ant is....
agreed! i could quote one of his lyrics but that would be too cliche...
My son is Adam
banshees & ants at their best before releasing their first record (banshees) second (ants)
She seems nice, but clueless as to how important her role was in interviewing him, not so much the pop star, but human being. Got the johnny depp look here lol.
Johnny Depp is still around?
Can I touch you! Lol
i hope that wasnt his stalker she really looks like her
my gosh how 'outrageous' of you, coming here with your strong language and misguided usage of capital letters, no one said he hasn't been bald for 20 years lol
