Thankfully the sequels were cancelled due to the box office disaster. Akira Toriyama wouldn’t want his legacy to be butchered by Hollywood.
Hey if Dragonball Evolution wasn't made we wouldn"t have Dragonball super. Since Akira Toriyama hated the movie so much it inspired him to make Dragonball super.

Bio booster armor Guyver is one of my favorite anime from the 80s. It’s a shame that it’s been forgotten. Out of control was never even released on DVD.
While the first American live-action adaption of Bio-Booster Armor Guyver did suck, it's sequel Guyver 2: Dark Hero which had actor/martial artist/stuntman David Hayter who later been known as the long-running VA of Solid Snake in MGS1, 2, 4, and Big Boss/Naked Snake in MGS 3 and a writer for some of the best Sci-Fi/Action films as the lead role of Sean Boswell/Guyver Unit-01 was actually good yes the sequel actually felt like what a properly made American live-action adaption of Bio-Booster Armor Guyver should be, and it did so well that as David revealed in a interview that New Line Cinema actually came to him and offered him the chance to reprise the role of Sean/Guyver Unit-01 for a third film and he accepted however Guyver 3 was hit with so many problems during pre-production that by the time the film was ready to begin with production New Line Cinema's time with the rights with sci-fi/horror/action Manga/Anime ran out.

The worst live action adaptation definitely was Dragon Ball Evolution. I saw a little bit of it on TV once and I just turned it off because it was abysmal. Though funny thing is...a former friend of mine actually kinda liked it for some reason. The best live action adaptation for me? Yeah I'm gonna be biased and say it was Bungo Stray Dogs: Beast. The graphics may have been cheesy but the fact that the script was co-written by Asagiri himself and the cast was done by the stage actors, it more than made up for it. Though it didn't follow the novel exactly, I still loved the new direction that it took especially when it put more focus on Oda and gave us some insight of how Chuuya handled...what happened at the end. Even an inclusion of a certain anemic rat villain was really awesome too. It wasn't perfect by any means but it was still a movie that I waited months for.
Hey, I don't know what you're going through or what's happened to you but I do know that your situation is temporary. I care about you and I genuinely hope you're doing okay. My life isn't perfect either you're not alone you've never been alone. There is so much light that's going to come to your life. You got this. WE got this. 💗
There were no race problems in Ghost in the Shell. Scarlett Johansen was a great pick, and the only people who had a problem with it were activists, not fans. She's a machine and being hidden from her past--obviously there's no reason for her race as a flesh human and as a machine should match.
Hey, WatchMojo. Can you please do a list of the 30 Cutest Girls in Anime? Here's a couple of examples of these adorable cinnamon rolls you guys should mention. Examples: Sumi Sakurasawa (Rent-A-Girlfriend) Eri (My Hero Academia) Anya Forger (Spy x Family) The Platelets (Cells At Work!) Filo (The Rising of the Shield Hero) Chibiusa (Sailor Moon series) Yoshino Himekawa (Date A Live) Kanna Kamui (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) Chiyo Mihama (Azumanga Daioh) Wendy Marvell (Fairy Tail)
Netflix's Cowboy Bebop was a huge disappointment. John Cho and Mustafa Shakir were amazing as Spike and Jet, and they kept Yoko Kanno as a composer, but that was it. They did an amazing job with One Piece though.
And the reason One Piece succeeded is because they captured the tone of the series, practically everybody was perfectly cast, & it respected the source material. I’m still mad at how Vicious was done dirty in that live action.
@@Phanthief95 Yes, thank you! They made Vicious into a spoiled, whiny child. Even worse made Julia to be a typical damsel in distress instead of a femme fatale like she was in the anime. And to add further disrespect, they made Faye sex crazy.
DB Evolution should've been 1. 2 would be on Cowboy Bebop with how bad it was. Alita: Battle Angel was fun to watch even without knowing anything about it's origins. Hoped for a sequel after it's ending. Speed Racer was fine for me
It got lucky was an understatement. The actors did a GREAT job and the tone was done right by people who actually love the source material. That’s saying a lot. Aside from how involved Oda has been
Once again, you gloss over the fact that people in Japan actually LOVED Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell. All the "controversy" was here in the West. Japanese fans only objected to the changes in the story. They supported her in that role because she actually LOOKS like the character.
Main stream media is always looking for a controversy and if they can't find one they make one up. Major in Ghost in a Shell isn't even Japanese in the manga or anime.
Knights of the Zodiac probably went bad only cause of like The Last Airbender (film to Avatar). Trying to squish a whole season into a single movie is a bad idea. Turning a movie into a series instead is sometimes ok, as it allow to expand to the story, so long it doesn't get off track or drags out. So that's why for KotZ. I'm not saying it's the worst, I'm saying on why its listed here.
That movie got bad because of the poor direction (Masami Kurumada choose a director who didn't even allowed Mackenyu to study the role of Seiya and wanted to make another story which ended up worst than the CGI reboot) and writing, the cast was fine and the CGI wasn't bad. The guy who directed clash of the titans (Louis Letterier) is a huge fan of saint seiya and he inspired in it to create the armor for the movie, he should've been the one directing it
What about Devilman? I hoped for this Movie to be in this List. That was.... a special Movie lol. Even if the CIG was 2004, it had some sick world ending scenario at the end what blew my mind back then. But after that scene, the Movie was fairly bad. It was so bad in fact, everyone forgot about it.
I 100% LOVED Alita, and can't wait for the second one!!! Now people may not have asked for the Guyver, but you loved that second one though, didn't you?!
Which ones did we ask for though, I'm drawing a blank... I like the live action Alita: Battle Angel, Speed Racer, and Cowboy Bebop though. The worst I've seen was probably the Blood: The Last Vampire and Kite live action movies.
We already have one for Gantz; it was done by Japan as 2 films and a CGI film and written by the author of the series. Highly recommend you check them out. As far as Claymore, we need a better/complete adaptation as anime first. Guyver on the other hand is a guilty pleasure for me, especially the sequel Dark Hero with David Hayter (Solid Snake of Metal Gear).
I remember watching the live action version of The Guyver and being appalled at the cluster fuck they had created. They shifted the story to America, made Sho Fukamachi American and basically nothing like the original protagonist, and the effects were bad enough that it made the Power Rangers look like Star Wars. You know it is a total failure when the movie's highlights are J.J. Walker turning into a Zoanoid and Mark Hamill's CIA agent turned into what appeared to be a giant cockroach.
How would anyone like a live action TV show of Fullmetal Alchemist? I’m currently working on one. I’ve written a script for the pilot episode, but I need to get it professionally polished and I need help getting someone to produce it. I really want to get the author involved but I don’t know how to get in touch with her since she lives in Japan.
Jojo, Alita, Ghost in Shell, Assassination Classroom and One Piece Live action were greatest i ever saw as the creater of Ghost in Shell doesn't gave a damn about MC race and how much the creater was involved in One Piece
How was what happened with Ghost in the Shell idiotic? How is it idiotic that the CREATOR of the OG manga and therefore Major signed off on Scarlett Johanson in the role? In fact he said was perfect in the role because Major ISN'T Japanese. Major isn't even her real name. Major has no race because she isn't human. No the media just had to override him because Japanese people are problematic and they needed fake outrage.
It just a thriller cause theres something creep up inside the dark Micheal Jackson is dead tho so it's just the thriller thriller night ain't no ones gonna save u from the get up get up tonight
I need a live action Flame of Recca! But only if its the same producers as One Piece. And I hope Yuyu Hakusho got the Hollywood treatment too like One Piece. Not a fan of the casting.

Sorry, but I EXTREMELY disagree with you number one ! "Alita" is very good !! I am looking forward to the possible part 2 !!! ( what abou a list like that with the GOOD adaptations ?? My number one goes to "Yamato"... and "Guntz" must be on the list .
Dragon Ball Evo should have been no. 1, hands-down.
Hey, I don't know what you're going through or what's happened to you but I do know that your situation is temporary. I care about you and I genuinely hope you're doing okay. You got this no matter what it is you're facing. Know that there is still hope and that there is still love. You're going to make it. My life isn't perfect either you're not alone you've never been alone. There is so much light that's going to come to your life. You got this. WE got this. 💗
I see you'd imagine the wide action initial game movie.
There were no race problems in Ghost in the Shell. Scarlett Johansen was a great pick, and the only people who had a problem with it were activists, not fans. She's a machine and being hidden from her past--obviously there's no reason for her race as a flesh human and as a machine should match.
what about Akira (TBA) from 1988?
My opinion on live action Cowboy Bebop is that was a bad idea from the start.
Bruh, I'm surprised that "Dragon Ball Evolution" isn't Number 1 on the list! Even Akira Toriyama himself hates it!
Hey, WatchMojo. Can you please do a list of the 30 Cutest Girls in Anime? Here's a couple of examples of these adorable cinnamon rolls you guys should mention.
Examples:
Sumi Sakurasawa (Rent-A-Girlfriend)
Eri (My Hero Academia)
Anya Forger (Spy x Family)
The Platelets (Cells At Work!)
Filo (The Rising of the Shield Hero)
Chibiusa (Sailor Moon series)
Yoshino Himekawa (Date A Live)
Kanna Kamui (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid)
Chiyo Mihama (Azumanga Daioh)
Wendy Marvell (Fairy Tail)
I thought you'd talk about the live action versions of Gintama, One Piece, or Osomatsu-San.
At least with One Piece it actually succeeded.
The gyver was good I liked alita too😅
Technically it wasn't an anime, but it was done in the style of an anime. For that reason I choose Avatar the Last Airbender.
Wait until naurto shows now that's a live action adaptation that nobody wanted.
3:07 i didnt know this was on Netflix
Speed Racer was fine for me
A colleague recommended Riki Oh to me. It was glorious.
Nobody wanted a live action One Piece but just like Alita it got lucky
It got lucky was an understatement. The actors did a GREAT job and the tone was done right by people who actually love the source material. That’s saying a lot. Aside from how involved Oda has been
NOBODY asked for ANY live adaptation of any anime. Anime is meant to stay 2d.
I got a live action movie called devil man. And a live action movie if monkey magic where monkey is blonde & it’s in Japanese lol 😂
The guy who directed clash of the titans (Louis Letterier) is a huge fan of saint seiya and he inspired in it to create the armor for the movie, he should've been the one directing it
If redo of healer get a live action it would be the best live action of all time.
What about Devilman? I hoped for this Movie to be in this List. That was.... a special Movie lol. Even if the CIG was 2004, it had some sick world ending scenario at the end what blew my mind back then. But after that scene, the Movie was fairly bad. It was so bad in fact, everyone forgot about it.
agreed
Imagine a Devilman movie with Guillermo del Toro and James Wan involved
I 100% LOVED Alita, and can't wait for the second one!!! Now people may not have asked for the Guyver, but you loved that second one though, didn't you?!
Which ones did we ask for though, I'm drawing a blank...
I like the live action Alita: Battle Angel, Speed Racer, and Cowboy Bebop though. The worst I've seen was probably the Blood: The Last Vampire and Kite live action movies.
Man, what do you guys have against speed racer anyways?
Anime live action films are either hit or miss. When they hit, they hit it out of the park, when they miss, they miss badly.
Lets start the GGC initiative. We need definitive animes for Guyver Gantz and Claymore
14:08 again really this was good
I'm just here to read the comments and eat popcorn for the giggles.
Dragonball Evolution and the Death Note will always be the worst for me. I don't care how many years past. They should have never been made.
Top Ten Times Anime Broke the 4th Wall
The Devilman live action is the worst offender of them all
I know it's not an anime, but the King of Fighters live movie adaption should get a nod. It's up there with Death Note and Dragonball: Evolution.
I was okay with Death Note, helps that I didn't know jack about the anime.
If demon slayer gets a live action adaption muzan will be Michael Jackson.
It's a close one bt DragonBall Evolution & both AOT movies. They were horrendous
Ricky O was 🔥! Very over the top! 😂
I saw the Japanese live-action adaption of FMA, along with the two-part live-action adaption of AOT and I deeply regret.
Alita was a masterpiece.
