Because of his influence I even studied psychology in order to understand the human mind and maximize my potential. I cried for the 1st time in 2 years last night this shook me to my core. Kobe wad the reason i started watching basketball. Sports fan or not this was the loss of a family member. • @Rando1624

Lakers fan, but the way kobe played and personality drew me in. i started watching nba during the 2000-01 season. The first game i watched was a regular season game against indiana. It was a comeback victory but i fell in love with the game and the team but being a shorter kid i wanted to be a point guard. So kobe immediately became my favorite player i watched game whenever i could the rest of the season then they won the championship. Ive been a diehard laker fan since even after shaq left the 07 and 09 championships. The achilles tear, and the slump of losing seasons. I cried the night after his final game too because for the final 16 years of his career i got to watch a career the show anything was possible and personified class and excellence a person who became more than the game became and inspiration to work hard for dreams and lived life to the fullest . To me laker basketball was more than games played wins or losses championships its more of a culture and the players once the don purple and gold are family forever. Kobe strove for excellence and demanded it. Off the court he was humble grateful and basketball was never a job it was fun and people could see it. That kind of mentality has molded the next generation and will inspire future generations.
