David Becker, amazing guitarist, great sense of humor and lovely parallelism with the Italian language. Greetings from Italy 😀
Grazie!
Brilliant playing!
The L-5 is gorgeous and sounds so warm, and yet clear!
Great teacher.....great player...... Norm needs to bring him back once a week .....
Thank you!
Talking music and guitars is a cool thing
This is the best rendition of Autumn Leaves that has ever graced my ears. Wow!
"Imitate, Assimilate, then Innovate." - That is just plain old truth in anything you want to learn in life. Good stuff.
Norm, thanks so much for having David Becker on your channel. He is a true monster player and I always learn something when he teaches. Love your channel!
That tone is just fantastic! Wonderful player, David Becker.
Thank you!
Autumn Leaves is the perfect song for this Demo …Great tone too BTW
David is a brilliant player, and a genius when it comes to voicings, comping, and chord melodies, in addition to be a fantastic teacher, and an all around great person!
Just found Mr. Becker today, and I've spent a few hours in the rabbit-hole checking him out. Such a great player, but able to explain simply what he does...and what he does, is neither simple nor easy. The sign of a pro in any field is that they can explain what they do to people who are not in their field. I've picked up quite a few bits and pieces today, thanks! Going to check out his courses.
Thank you!
Cheers from Poland:) true fan:)
Great musician and educator. Beautiful instrument and lovely sound. Thank you!
Thank you!
Awesome guitar, and great lesson! Keep the quality content coming.
Thank you!
Thanks that makes a lot of sense
Very clear and inspiring lesson on a classic Jazz tune.
I had to grab MY Wes Monntgomery L5 and add some reverb to play along with the Burnin' Becker .
Wonderful tone, illustrations and points!
beautiful lesson. Great playing. Thank you!
Thank you!
Very well explained!
Outstanding ‼️🔥
Thank you!
Awesome performance yall !! Very talented player ,, Hello everyone there ,, , and as usual shout out to entertainer Frank Stallone !!

Multiply my like times 1000. Amazing musician and an even better educator.

@@nigeljones1681 oh man, thank you!
What a great player and guitar !! ... wondering when Norman's Vancouver is going to open...lol
I've heard some great, very advanced playing by him together with the late Joe Diorio. Gifted guy,
This is very interesting. Please do more.=)
Thank you!
Gibson probably didn't know they made that guitar either...
🤣😅
He makes an easy sense. Gets a great sound too
Thank you!
Great lesson, David!
(Too bad Norm/Norm's can't afford to block the ads)
cheers all
Thank you!
Came for the guitar, stayed for the life lesson.
Mr Becker that’s beautiful just beautiful 👍🏻🌹❤️🎸
Thank you!
Norm I have a good tar something like that I was wondering if you could tell me what I got it is a univox I would like to see what it is that's why I'm trying to reach out to you
Where can I buy this guitar, it’s not on your website?
I use Becker's approach to improvising.
I like to be able to hear the tune in a solo.
If you play scales, you are just trying to not hit wrong notes .
If you play out of chords or "changes" you will target the "Right" notes.
If you listen to Louis Armstrong , every note is so right , that's how I wanna pay.
Show 🎸🎼
Never seen so many empty racks at Norm's before. Where did they all go? Is there a guitar shortage too? Great lesson BTW.
Love it when someone can actually play jazz on a real jazz guitar.
finally a guitar teacher that make sense , no difficult music theory , endless boring scales ect. Rick Beato could learn a lot from this man .
Thank you!
I agree!!
Rick Beato is humble enough to do that. I've noticed Rick is a good player to emulate-so passionate about his guitar playing and lessons -he just shines; I think Rick is a good soul.
Hes a bad dude!!!
needs more reverb
So this is a WM -L5 CT ? I can’t see the engraving on the tailpiece 🤔. They built the CT R.I. with 2 different scales 25 1/2 and 24 3/4 AND x-bracing and parallel bracing. My guess: it’s a ‘normal’ CT with 1 HB and logically paralel bracing. Still a gorgeous guitar! Kind regards WM
Autumn Leaves is part of the American songbook” ?
David Becker a great musician.
Thank you!
@@davidbeckertribune607 what’s the name of the song ?
@@edgarwieringa9338 Autumn Leaves!
@@davidbeckertribune607 ahh thanks! So nice this sound. Beautiful playing! (Sound of the guitar is also amazing btw)
@@edgarwieringa9338 Thank you!
I ceee 😻👍🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥
Get real dude and throw some fuzz pedal on that thing!!! LOL J/K....Great guitar.
For improvisation, it's the harmony/chord shapes. To me, scales are almost irrelevant.
Hang tag says: IF YOU HAVE TO ASK.
I shake with mirth [and fear] when I hear the word "voicings" !
All these players are great…BUT the amp EQ and settings sound too reverby and boxy…. Too much reverb in general…not necessarily this one, but when the usual guy demos, the eq (IMO) does not do the guitar justice…. The playing does!
Love the channel!
Autumn leaves
Blimey he looks old these days, is he still married to posh spice?? Haha
All wrong notes to Norm's ears.
(:
Decay of the reverb is too looooong....
She's blood, flesh and bones
No tucks or silicone
She's touch smell sight taste and sound
But somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know we're right where I belong and nothing's gonna happen, yeah
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
First class, fancy free, she's high society
She's got the best of everything
Why could a guy like me ever really offer?
She's perfect as she can be, why should I even bother, ah ha
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
She comes to speak to me
I freeze immediately
Cause what she says sounds so unreal
Cause somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know we're right below and nothing's gonna happen
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
She's so high
High above me
Also more than one way to skin a cat. He (and the Gibson) sound terrific but he also sounds like another jazzer playing formular "jazz". Every guitarist needs to realise that soon as you've mastered the basics, the sound you're creating is your sound, so work hard and be proud of it. Can't think of a better example than a MrJ Beck who's never stopped honing his own sound.
THIS IS GOOD KNOWLEDGE HERE
I TAUGHT AT A CONSERVATORY UP IN SAN FRANCISCO BACK IN THE EARLY 1970s
HIS APPROACH IS SURELY APPLICABLE
I CAN UNDERSTAND HIS APPROACH
I JUST KNOW THAT HE PLAYS WELL
