Thank you, for posting this clip, for years I always wondered who the fabulous 3m's were, I was aware of one, but now I know who all three were I always adored and respected Blessed Sacrament golden knights, snare drum line, but I also respected the Cavaliers snare drum line, especially in the 1961 season, undefeated 21 wins for the entire Corps. I always try to emulate Bobby Thompson's left hand grip with a curl Pinky, but I've also tried to emulate the Cavaliers style of playing hi. I played snare drum, in the Floyd Bennett golden eagles from Brooklyn New York in 1960 and 1961. My drum instructor, was Jim Shea, may he rest in peace . and we would try to emulate their height playing high , as the Cavaliers. that was right up my alley. I will keep this clip forever. I am sure I will be watching it frequently. I also play almost every week recordings of the golden knights, and the Cavaliers. The two best drum and bugle Corps has ever. Today is June 11th 2022. I purchase a slingerland snare drum in August of 1958, red sparkle, and I still have that same snare drum today with cat guts and it sounds as though I purchased it yesterday. God bless all former drum and bugle Corp, members that are no longer with us, and God bless all of us that are still on this side of the lawn.

How I loved this corps. Watching on the sidelines, I had no idea I'd be joining the Cavaliers in October 1961. I took that picture of Mitch in uniform after he won his 3rd individual VFW National Championship in Seattle, Washington, 1963. I took it in our Travel Lodge motel room right after he'd won.

I was marching in a "B" Corp in Seattle, first year, in 63. How I wish that I could have seen Mitch, then!
He wasn't too " bad" lol, at age 71!

I’m a young cat who loves both modern and old school rudimental drumming. This video was a real treat, learning more about the wonderful history of the cavaliers and seeing these legends. Thank you for sharing this!

I can still play this snare music because we played the same routine in 1962, except for concert and "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" was replaced with "Carioca." It makes me sad to think that both Ben Mical and Ron Marcquenski passed away last year (2018).
