I don't mind skipping a van video for a good day hike. I learn a lot from your videos, here's something I can share back: At 5:00, that 'knot' is actually called a burl. Woodworkers love them for their wavy grain.
The solace of open spaces, & the wonder of the wilds in mountain (& desert) settings. The trees, shrubs, plants, flowers & bounteous berries (there must be hungry bears in the woods) all make for most splendid walk & romp in the grass & downed logs. Thanks for sharing the views of your home in wilds of Oregon.
Oregon is a photographer's paradise! I always enjoy packing up some snacks, extra water, and dinner for my dogs and drive up into the mountains where we would hike up and down old forrest service roads. We would find old mines, water holes, occassionaly spook a deer, and always have a great time. Have a great day, Jason!
Making your own trail is some of the best time spent in nature! And Nature’s trail snacks are indeed the best!! While hiking the FL Trail years ago I happened upon a couple of orange trees growing trailside. What a boost to the body and spirit! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Jason. I've been watching your videos for years. I'm a plumber working in a city and during a lunch break I might click on one of your works. It's a vicarious treat. I've noticed a change lately in the style, for a period there you had some do it yourself type tutorials. Nice contrast. Stay strong and best adventures to you bro. -Andy South Dakota.
Watching this video made my legs itch lol. I’m from Alabama and the red bugs are terrible here this time of year. A hike like that in shorts would be devastating lol. I spent some time in Mount Cheaha this weekend but it’s nothing like the scenery in Oregon.
Bush walking is great way to get away from the crowds. Old lodge pole pine stands can become harder due to the large amount of down wood on the ground.
That's what I loved about trail riding horse and mules. You can really explore. You still need to keep track of your way in so you can get out though. But usually your mount will know the way back themselves. We always trusted their judgement. 🐴
There is something so special about a walk through the forest as ech step or brush by the new little pine seedlings gives way to a sweet pine aroma. So peaceful and yet full treasures
Seeing Wheeler and Daisy is always enjoyable. Hiked with our Boxer dogs all the time too, the last died Summer 2020. Waiting on the 5-month-old Australian Cattledog to get old enough to hit the trails. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t comment on UA-cam often but your channel is amazing and deserves many many more subscribers than you have. Keep up the excellent work. From Michigan.
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for sharing your Oregon country stroll. I know that you miss the adventures with Wheeler and Daisy. Thank you for sharing this fine video. All the best to you, Megan and Daisy. Stay safe out there. 🤗
Hi Prim! Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful videos. You give all the magic back to us. I really feel like I am in the woods to when I watch them. Greetings from Indonesia!
Nothing like breaking your own trail! I remember those videos when you and the dogs would do those adventures together. Good to see you get back out there and absorb that good feeling that comes with a day spent in the bush! Thanks for taking us along!
Really enjoyed this one. I used to do a lot of hiking/exploring like this. I believe that walking in nature is a basic human need. It is very emotionally therapeutic, and intellectually stimulating. Happy Trails
Enjoyed the video, nice to mix it up. Overlanding, e-bike, fishing, and hiking. Sad when our 4 leg companions age out for these type of adventure. Like always great video work!
It is good to see you hiking again! Sorry you are missing your four legged companions, it was great see them both exploring with you. It was a treasure that’s for sure.
Just came back from camping in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It happened to be prime blueberry season and we probably picked about 3 gallons worth! Had a wonderful time! Oregon looks beautiful too! I’ve been there once skiing at Mt Hood, but that was like 20 years ago. Maybe time to return?! Keep up the great content!
Great to see Wheeler again, even if only a memory. We all miss him and your adventures together. ❤️

Nice little hike. Sucks the pups aren't around to go anymore. Hate losing good pups

I think the knot is called a burl. When cut open They have beautiful designs in the wood grain

That tree knot is a burrough and they are sometimes worth hundreds or thousands. Wood workers make knife handles and such.
