wow u got really lucky on that bolt. gald that it worked. we are just bought my wife a buell blast that needs some work. its really fun working on bikes! we need more clips like yours to inspire others to work on there own bikes. the more you do the work yourself the more you will know whats wrong if anything does go south. great Clips Thank you.
I had the Same issue. Bought a reverse drill bit so I wouldn't drive the bolt deeper with tapping the bolt with a regular bit. It's always scary when crap like this happens. Glad you guys got it out. Can't wait to see you rip it up with this thing.
If you ever find yourself needing to drill through another bolt or hardened steel, what works really well is a masonry bit with the cutting tips sharpened. Used it to drill through a clutch fork pin where titanium bits failed.
That front fender came looking great! If I had been attempting that i wouldve probably worked down either side trying to make it even till i had a spike for a front fender LOL
I think that front fender looks great for being a hand made job id round out the edges a bit more to make it more flush but all in all looks great man!
Fry Riding has all the mechanical prowess, Motonosity is there to look good ? Seriously, good job. I also like the background music you've chosen for this video.
Having the right tools for the job makes all the difference. FYI, you can keep metal shavings out of the engine case by covering all holes with blue painter's tape. Just hit the area with a vacuum or compressed air before removing the tape.
hey! im most the way through my build, its a wr and the whole build process is actually killing me haha! these videos are helping me through bits and pieces so thank you very much! at 9:09 fry talks about that temp sender, i was just wondering if you could tell me what its called or send a link over i would be very appreciative! sorry if have already posted it a bunch of times.. cheers mate!
Same thing happened to me with a crankcase bolt a few weeks ago, If it happens again its worth trying a sharp chisel or punch and hammering near the outside edge of the remaining bolt in an anti-clockwise direction, if that makes sense. Usually once the bolt snaps its not actually that tight in the hole. Also worth mentioning that I'd normally never use a torque wrench for small stuff like that, the one time I did use it, waiting for the click, waiting for the click, snap..............
Tip for next time you snap off a bolt like you did , take your blue painters tape and tape off the flat surface of your parts as so you don't get any shavings inside , build looks awesome !!
Hey get an inch-pound torque wrench for those 8mm bolts. On my 2015 CRF250R I did the same thing in the same spot. Never use a foot-pound for anything less than a 10mm as it will easily break the bolts. Or you can always tight them down with a socket wrench as much as possible ;). Good luck!
Haven’t seen the rest of the series, and it was a while ago but I was going to suggest, you should have buffed those fender edges heaps to really shine up the cut and sanding, will be less prone to dirt/grime discolouration over time... bike looks amazing bud
Damn thought it would be rolling by now i guess it's ok i know your ready to rode it more than we are to see you ride good luck brother good series wish more people would do this
hey if you have to drill something out in the future and you dont want the metal shavings getting into the internals. stuff the opening with shop towels. i had to do this when replacing the timing chain on my truck. i was able to clean the surfaces for the gasket with out all the old gasket and junk falling into my oil pan. i feel like that could have helped here
Called EZ out's, and you're very fortunate it worked as well as it did for you. I've never had much luck with those things, always end up welding on to the broken end of the bolt and using a set of visegrips to twist it out, but I'm assuming you don't have a tig welder at your disposal! Looks good man!!
Mr Fry must make life interesting for you. Getting closer I'm excited good job on the front fender, bolt extraction and chain fit. I personally never had a bolt come out with an easy out i have given up trying. Was that Mr Evo in the back ground too? well best of luck ride safe love from Australia for you and your wife
Hey Brent good job on the fender cut I do a lot of that stuff and if you really wanted to finish it off take some rim tape red or whatever color u think would look good and place it over your cut that way edging is all the same and it gives it more of a factory look. If you want just an idea you did a good job anyways.👍🏻
even if it doesn't hit the tire while on the stand, it'll definitely rub when you ride it. Like I said, just make sure it doesn't hit the rim when you ride it!! (: Lookin' good!
On the front fender you should of used a belt sander from harbor fright ! It's so much easier and gives it a cleaner look.. I use a belt sander to shave down plastic and metal also easier to debut...
I got extremely lucky when i snapped one off in the same spot on my 2000 350 wolverine and was able to get it out by hand it was just as bad broken flush with it but i put my thumb on it and it was look enough to twist with the palm of my thumb if that makes since.
If you had a left handed drill bit, you coulda drilled in and it would have a good chance of catching and unscrewing itself out. Otherwise if it didn't, then you could still use the easy out tool. But the way you did it worked out fine in the end lol
+Hayden Stevenson I fly planes and ride bikes. My name is unique to my channel. I also drew up my logo before fry introduced his so that was unique to me as well. Great minds think alike I suppose. So ya, great job indeed :)
You guys got lucky it wasn't cross threaded in there Nut and a mig welder would have made it a cake walk to get the broken bolt out, works well if you are in a bind and want to avoid having to drill it out
hey motonosity if you use blue painters tape when yopu want to protect something or prevent shavings from getting into the engin then there is basically no residue to worry about idk if you knew that or someone else said it so have a good day
Heyy Sir Amazing fender..looks wicked as bee..the rear will help keep your engine part of the bike clean after the first run from rains..kudos..thumbs up.))
What kind of drill bit did you use? I've got some hardened steel I need to drill through, but normal drill bits don't quite cut it (pun intended:). I've heard masonry bits work well.
new to the channel.. first I'd like to thank you for keeping me up all night. I just watched all 10 videos, I'm not gonna lie I got pretty bummed when I saw that screw break.. what I always do is take the cutting wheel on my drimmel and cut a line into the screw and use a flathead to take it out. it may be a little tuff someone times but you could use a impact driver and a hammer to get it out. also what are you asking for your Yami?
I've just got a 350 dirt bike how can I stop the high speed wobble at high speed on the road. I've tryed sitting more over the front but didnt really help. Any advice would be great thanks
front fender looks awesome! good job!
DU ÄR ÖVERALLT
MUCH LOVE
BLDH legendar!!
:DD
I was so glad when you put tape on the fender to use as a guide when cutting it. The OCD side of me was about to go mental.
wow u got really lucky on that bolt. gald that it worked.
we are just bought my wife a buell blast that needs some work. its really fun working on bikes!

great Clips Thank you.
i like how the music is 50x louder then the voices.. thanks for blowing out my speakers
Sorry about that. It didn't play that way when I was editing.
while we are talking about music. What song is that?
I had the Same issue. Bought a reverse drill bit so I wouldn't drive the bolt deeper with tapping the bolt with a regular bit. It's always scary when crap like this happens. Glad you guys got it out. Can't wait to see you rip it up with this thing.

+algot2009 haha thanks bro
I recommend picking up a easy out set. have used mine countless times getting broken bolts out
Was waiting all day for this video so I could watch it before work!
Love that fender. Can't wait to see you drive it.
Front fender and the rest of the bike looks great man!
If you ever find yourself needing to drill through another bolt or hardened steel, what works really well is a masonry bit with the cutting tips sharpened. Used it to drill through a clutch fork pin where titanium bits failed.

Magnet around the area your drilling helps with metal shavings.
Your name is a lot like fry's... and your picture is super similar.... good job man. not

What is the maintenance schedule for your supermoto, i.e. how often do you change the oil and such? I've looked around and I can't seem to find it.

I think the fender looks great. Do you have an estimate how much longer till it's finished?
Hello, great build, you mentioned a fender made/sold in Germany. I am curious to check it out, can you reply with the name of it?
Just needed a reverse drill bit :)
love that fender
I've just got a 350 dirt bike how can I stop the high speed wobble at high speed on the road. I've tryed sitting more over the front but didnt really help. Any advice would be great thanks
My rule of thumb for gaskets; once it has been compressed and engine has been ran/ gotten hot, use a new one. Hope you did. Awesome looking bike.
He's growing the beard back boys
"Sometimes I also put my head between my knees and rock back in forth, that's also how I roll" - Fryriding 😂😂😂
i love how moto replys. most other youtubers neverreply
Which kickstand did you get? I need one for my bike
Wouldn't it been better to put the speed sensor on the rear tire brake caliper just wondering... what happens when if your doing wheelies?
what was the fender from Germany you mentioned? is it still available?
