  • In today’s video I am reviewing Kamakura Shirts, a premium Japanese shirtmaker.
Their shirts are made in Japan and they are well known for their quality craftsmanship and fabric selection.
I particularly like their Vintage Ivy line, which feels very strong and durable and has a unique look.

Thanks for being honest with your review Lukas, my shirt arrived few days ago and I must say their shirts are as good as Charles Tyrwhitt. I love the Tokyo fit white shirts though, they give this cool asian look.

      Thank you, Seyi.
Glad you like the shirt :)
I wish I could fit into the Tokyo fit line. The denim shirts are fantastic.

Hi Lukas - thank you for the helpful review. I am interested in purchasing several Vintage Ivy shirts (Oxford & Chambray). When you suggest "one size larger than you normally would" since I am a 15.5" in US shirts, would you recommend a 16" in Kamakura or going up to 16.5"? I have an average build, 5' 10", 165-170 lbs. I have read some reviews on the Kamakura website where people commented that they purchased a size 15.5' and it was short with less buttons than larger sizes. Just want to get this right rather than have to deal with returning the shirts to Japan.

      Thank you.
I agree, it's a bit tricky to get the fit right with their shirts.
I would suggest comparing all your measurements with the ones on their website, because their sizes can be a bit "strange".
For me, I have to go up 1 size, so my chest fits, but then the neck is too large, unfortunately.
For me, only the Vintage ivy line fits pretty well.

@@Lukas_Schanderl Thanks - I did just that, comparing measurements from two of my favorite shirts and ordered a Vintage Ivy in size 16". Kamakura currently are offering free shipping too.

Hi. On the topic of shirts, it would be nice if you can do a review of Emanuel Berg and Stenstroms.
Also, what do you think about shirts (not polos) made of jersey or piquet fabric? 🍻

      Thanks for the tip, Vasil.
I'll put it on my video list.
Hm I've never tried them, to be honest.
I ordered a long-sleeved polo from Natalino that's very similar to a shirt, but it hasn't arrived yet.
