    The stuck rings are definitely your problem. We used to see this on car engines when the fueling was too rich causing carbon to buld up betwen the rings, or running the engine with no air filter.

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  10 місяців тому

      I agree, the fueling looks to have been poor, and the cylinders were also out of spec.

      It will come soon, we have a small delay whilst we source parts to rebuild the engine 🙂

    Horo. Cyl. Bore scoring my guess and or low tension on the comp.rings .

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  10 місяців тому

      The cylinders were found out of spec as well as the rings being stuck so definitely a combination of both 😎

    Great work. Question for you. I have a 848evo. i just did a compression test and for the life of me, i cant find what range it should be. I am just shy of 160psi. Could you be so kind and point me into the direction to find this information.

    Is that a Craftsman ratchet? I have them and they are really hard on your hands 😅

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes it is, got as a present many many moons ago, I don't find it too bad personally although the ratchet is a little sloppy now so might invest in something else.

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  10 місяців тому +1

      Some engines benefit from becoming loose on the spec, this one has gone way to far.

    The tire wear suggests the bike is ridden on track. I think the owner would be foolish to not put new rod and main bearings in this now. Especially on an 848

    • @DesmoWerx
      @DesmoWerx  10 місяців тому

      Hi Rob, speaking with owner we may well go down this route to be sure of reliability once re-assembled
