I came here for light fixture tips and am leaving with how I’m going to fix my hair tomorrow!! 💖LOL! 😂Thank you!!
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this upgrade when I first saw the size of the bulbs. The finished product is beautiful!
Haha I hear you! We were a little jarred when we saw how giant they were as well, we definitely underestimated a six inch bulb! But it definitely wound up being quite balanced with the original fixture so we lucked out. Thank you so much for checking it out and I'm so glad liked the final result!
I remember an article some years back where the diy’er flipped the arms 180 degrees and it became an uplight instead of a downlight. I might try that with the big bulbs you got and paint the socket covers. Thx for the video!
Im so glad i found your video! I have this light fixture and I am redecorating my house but did not want to spend $300 on a new farmhouse style light fixture. Thank u!
Letiiciia I am SO thrilled to hear that and I hope you find some light bulbs you love! We have had this for I think a year and a half now and no one can believe it is the same fixture that used to be there. It's such a cheap and simple fix and a total show stopper.
I'm doing this for sure! Thank you for sharing!
I'm so happy to hear that Lynette! Happy light bulb shopping, I hope it turns out amazing for you!
This was a game changer for me. Thank you!
Ahhh I'm so glad! I hope it turns out beautiful for you!
I have this lite fixture. I’m going to paint it and do your diy. Thanks sooo much. Great idea.🥰🥰🥰👏🏼👏🏼
I am sooo happy to hear that Salena! I've been toying with the idea of painting some of my light fixtures as well! I hope you'll let me know how it turns out, I think you are going to love it!
Awesome ideas! Thank you!
Great information ✅✅
Fantastic 🌹
This is great!
I just moved into a house I am renting and it has the exact same light fixture in the dining room.
I came here to get ideas on how to flip it and I love this! Thank you.
My question is what size is the socket covers you used?
I wish you were still uploading new videos. Miss ya
Thanks for this
Thank you so much Raj, so happy you found this and I hope it is helpful!
Home improvement stores still sell these by the way
I believe it!! I'm sure they'll be around for many years to come and in 10 years I'm sure feature light bulbs will look dated and everyone will be putting their shades back on 🤣
@@BuildingHome True. Remember tge old adage, everything old is new again! Lol
❤😊
Hi! Absolutely love this idea. I have the same fixture. Can you tell me where you found the decorative socket cover? Thanks Tonya
Hi Tonya! So thrilled this might be an option for you, Im sure it will turn out beautiful! These are the exact ones we used:

If for any reason that link doesn't work it is also in the description box of the video. This was our first time ordering from Destination Lighting and we were really pleased with the customer service! I'm sure you could grab them on Amazon, at the time we looked last year this was seriously the only option! I think it's a 50 dollar minimum for free shipping so we grabbed out bulbs from them too. Happy shopping and please let me know how it turns out for you!
This is great. I live in an apartment with this same, painted white, ugly light. Would you happen to have info on the socket cover? I'm having difficulty finding any. Guess I could paint it. I'm ordering the bulbs now. Thank you so much
U really great
Sorry to be the sore thumb but I really liked it better before. The point for me is that I can switch out those globe fixtures and have something that looks new. I just wouldn't choose those huge bulbs. Thanks!
Great idea! Do you know what size the bulbs are? I couldn't find them anymore on the link you gave us :(
Hi Angie! That is such a bummer, I even went back to my old confirmation email to look up my order details and that link is dead too. But don't worry, there are plenty others just like it! This is a 60 watt g40 globe, and I believe it was 5 (maybe 6!) inches in diameter. If you look up those specs you'll find plenty of brands, stores, and even styles of glass. Happy shopping, I hope you find something you love and thanks so much spending some time on the channel!
Thank you so much!!
@@BuildingHome I’m having such a hard time finding a bulb with these specs! 😅
What size is the bulb?
