I had this issue where I tried to get in the game and it wouldn’t let me in. It said delete and reinstall so I tried that and it didn’t work. I kept getting the installation stopped and when I deleted it it would just appear when I re load my Xbox. It said my game was corrupted and the way I fixed this was to unplug my hard drive and force install it to my internal. I just wanted to put that out there if this video doesn’t help with your issue.
2025, I plugged in my Xbox one that has been sitting around for several years and tried redownloading one of my old games. At first it would read the disc and stop installing and I thought there was no hope for it left. After trying this method it started downloading my games with no problems again. Thank you so much!

I'd imagine this video got a few dislikes, because what wasn't said in the video is, what is your network speed. these consoles require internet of some kind, but depending on what your using as internet, that will effect download speed. you also have to figure that, even when your not playing a game there are things that run in the background. so let's say your internet is on the slower side, but it's your only option at the moment. well there's only so much you can do, in your home the higher level you are, the stronger signal you'll receive which will help. but the lower you go in the house like a basement for example, well it's tricky getting a connection down. now if you have a router in the home, you don't have too much of an issue since it's strong enough to send data down to a lower level. but mobile data is different, and if your trying to use a hotspot for internet, it's trickier. because most cell towers have a certain range so depending on what you have, that can play into game installs stopping. so even if you do exactly what the uploader said in the video, it may not help everyone watching. plus he didn't say what his network speed was, he's just doing a demonstration, so for a game to stop installing on his end, he had to of used something a little slower. because your not gonna get any game to stop installing if you have normal internet in your home, most speeds now a days are pretty fast. even a 100mb plan now a days would be more than enough for most household, but the reason why you might need more is if more than one person in the home is using it. even then, your phone and someone's phone isn't gonna take much. but your xbox is a bit of a hog when it comes to bandwidth, that's because there are so many things about a console now a days that isn't just built for gaming anymore.

Nope, it should allow you to, it is 7/30/24 and it let me! I have an old gen original Xbox one I got for my 8th birthday, I’m 16 now and this thing has served me amazing, and it let me download it straight off the store! The old Xbox 360 store shutdown yesterday

My disc is in good condition but I deleted the game and when I tried to re download it kept on saying installation stopped and this method doesn’t work since in the Microsoft store they don’t sell the version I have they onlys sell the deluxe edition this is Bo3 Btw

*QUICK FIX FOR ALL MY HOMIES!* just hold your finger on the front of your xbox for 10 sec to turn off console then unplug the power cable from the wall and from the back of your console for minute. Then plug everything back Hope this helped yall!👍

@@bluepickle1948 it didn't work for me too, internet speeds are so low at my native hence bought horizon 4 disc and after 69% it stopped and that's it!! There went 50$ game for nothing!! Only option left is to downloading from internet which I didn't want to, in the first place!!!

It didnt work for me unfortunately, I've tried pretty much everything, I really don't know what to do at this point other than maybe try and get my xbox looked at or maybe try and find a new version of the game, the game is Skylanders Imaginators, I wasnt able to install it from the Microsoft store because it says its unavailable, really dont know what else to do besides scroll through numerous websites to try and find an unused version of the game.

I cant cancel the update. Last time I did that, it deleted the game. The game im updating is Modern Warfare. It took a WEEK to download that game. I cannot go through that again

Just install the disc offline. Take the disc out, disconnect from Xbox live, put the disc back in, and it will start downloading the disc with no updates. Only works with discs tho. And you have to stay offline to play them.

I had this issue where I tried to get in the game and it wouldn’t let me in. It said delete and reinstall so I tried that and it didn’t work. I kept getting the installation stopped and when I deleted it it would just appear when I re load my Xbox. It said my game was corrupted and the way I fixed this was to unplug my hard drive and force install it to my internal. I just wanted to put that out there if this video doesn’t help with your issue.

@@bluepickle1948 it didn't work for me too, internet speeds are so low at my native hence bought horizon 4 disc and after 69% it stopped and that's it!! There went 50$ game for nothing!!
Only option left is to downloading from internet which I didn't want to, in the first place!!!

i don't know what was going on i've just bought a used copy of RYSE which i've never had time to play that and for whatever reason it was stuck at 78% during installation
but i deleted the game and ReDownloaded the app from the store and now it works just fine
Ryse is free is it not with gold wich everyone has

It didnt work for me unfortunately, I've tried pretty much everything, I really don't know what to do at this point other than maybe try and get my xbox looked at or maybe try and find a new version of the game, the game is Skylanders Imaginators, I wasnt able to install it from the Microsoft store because it says its unavailable, really dont know what else to do besides scroll through numerous websites to try and find an unused version of the game.

I cant cancel the update. Last time I did that, it deleted the game.
The game im updating is Modern Warfare. It took a WEEK to download that game. I cannot go through that again

I really slow WiFi and my games taken a week to get to 94% until it’s been saying installation stopped, so for me to cancel it would just kill me
Just install the disc offline. Take the disc out, disconnect from Xbox live, put the disc back in, and it will start downloading the disc with no updates. Only works with discs tho. And you have to stay offline to play them.
