    Thanks for producing the videos! Regarding the cutouts for the BBQ, Access Door and Drawers... On the BBQ... first I assume that if the cutout depth is 8.5" that you frame subtracting the 1/2" for the concrete board, and I am subtracting 2.25" for the concrete top. So... the actual framed cutout depth is 5.75" is that correct? On the width and height for everything else... if the width is say 30 5/8" for the BBQ to you add an extra 1/8" or keep it to the 30 5/8"? I don't want it to be so tight that the BBQ wont slip in, or to large that it fall thru.

    • @d.i.yeddie6075
      @d.i.yeddie6075  2 роки тому

      Jaime you are correct, because the bbq sits and is supported by the countertop. I checked the installation manual and followed the exact dimensions, then measured actual bbq, they usually leave extra space for slight installation adjustment. Thanks for watching

    Hi Eddie. Great video and awesome job! I am using Durock as a base for my countertop as well and it comes out about 7 inches (not flush like yours). Once the cement cures and I remove the wooden supports, do you know if the cement would have bonded with the Durock? If not, I was thinking of removing it along the outer edges once the cement countertop had cured. Any advice would be great!

    • @d.i.yeddie6075

    • @d.i.yeddie6075
      @d.i.yeddie6075  6 років тому

      Jes Bauman as long as the pavers are installed correctly the weight of the outdoor bbq should be sufficient. I did not secure my bbq to the concrete. I would recommend more composite boards at closer distances to help distribute the load

    • @jesbauman271

      D.I.Y Eddie ok thanks, also do you shime between the composite board and metal frame to level it out and what do you use for shimes since it's outdoors.

    • @d.i.yeddie6075

      Jes Bauman yes i did use shims, the local hardware store has composite shims, i then drive a screw to hold the shim in place.

      Galvanized steel studs, 20 gauge bottom is called a track. Local drywall suppliers should carry these. Big box stores only carry 25 gauge which is way to thin

      For the metal studs I located them locally in my area. Google for "drywall suppliers" and as far as the bbq cut out is concerned each BBQ is different. First you need to buy the appliances, doors and bbq you want to install. Each item should have its cutout specifications. I looked in the user/ installation manual for my cut out
