To be fair it's a different circumstance with sending heroes back home for the US in WW2 and France in WW1, the US in WW2 needed their heroes to sell war bonds to keep America in the fight without bankrupting the country because the supply chains were huge to keep us in a fight an ocean away. France in WWI is playing a survival game, if a soldier can fight he needs to fight. The French foreign legion is a little different because they do get a choice but the necessity is still there
Also you can just look to Japan in WWII to see what happens when you keep them in the fight.. eventually their number comes up, they die.. US sends them back, they sell warbonds, they help train more fighters to be even a little better, grand scheme it ends up being a much bigger benefit to the war.. with the added benefit of if things DO go south and now you are in a fight for survival, you have people with experience and skill still available.
Well there are exceptions when it comes to returning to service after you're wounded in the US military, there's an army special forces guy who returned after losing a leg and a big difference between that France was being invaded and needed everyone they could get
Ok so I admittedly haven’t been subscribed, but I’ve watched for a while now, and I know how Lauren is with giving out shots. When I heard her say she had her shot glass ready, I immediately thought “Oooh today’s gonna be a GREAT day for her.” Lol Eugene Bullard is hands down one of the most amazing individuals to walk this earth.
Nick is great teller and finds great stories... Peeing in the machine gun's water cooler was reality, they needet pure fluid and did not want to waste water . they collected it to a can
That's a crazy thing to say, of course his dad didn't have a lot of money. He was taking care of 7 children alone. Wonder how many times he went days without eating just so his children had something
Merry Christmas Lauren! This react was excellent. His latest video about Burger King is hilarious. Can't wait to see your reaction to how unhinged this company is. Enjoy the rest of your Holidays.
Unfortunately Nick skipped one tragic part of Bullard's life. In 1949 Eugene attended a concert in Peekskill, NY being put on by Paul Robeson. Robeson, in addition to being a famous black entertainer, was a political activist suspected of being pro-communist. A horde of protesters tried to stop the concert. They succeeded on the first night; on the second night security kept the protesters away and the concert went on, but many of the protesters waited outside the venue and attacked concert goers as they left. Eugene was attending the concert that night and was attacked as he left. He was beaten to the ground by a mob including several members of law enforcement. The attack was caught on camera and somewhere there's photos of him being attacked by two policemen, a state trooper and some other a**hole. No one was ever charged with the attack. The event was known as the Peeskill Riots and this happened a decade before Eugene was recognized in the elevator and finally getting the public recognition he deserved.
All I got to tell you look up this gentleman his name is Roy benavidez.. I don't know if you've ever heard of him but he will debunk what you had mentioned about America and how they just send everybody home. The fat electrician has a story on him as well If you have it checked it out maybe you should.
Its strange he ommitted any mention of the Peekskill riot. The one where Bullard attended a Civil Rights concert on September 4th 1949 and was among the persons beaten by police, State Troopers and local racists as the audience was leaving the venue. Though the attack on him was caught on film none of Bullard's attackers ever faced charges. Another point when he says that before WW2 even happened for French resistance, does he mean French Secret Service cause no French Resistance before France was occupied?
Hey Lauren I'm so glad you got my request for this. I knew you would appreciate this badass individual

Monsieur Bullard achieved more in his life than literally EVERYONE else.

The one thing that get me is he basically married a French princess and everyone just like oh

It's not just parents who teach someone to be racist is others who can as well my mom grew up in a racist family but she isn't racist to anyone.
