- We started our yearly potato crop, this time only planting in bucket. We expanded from our trial last year and hope to have a great harvest, check out this video so you can learn to plant in a container and easily grow your own potatoes on your patio!

Years ago on one of the TV Gardening Shows they used old car tires to plant the potatoes. When the plant was up to the top they added another tire and continued doing that until it was as tall as you want it. I've only planted in the garden and continued to hill the potatoes as they grew. I do like the containers and the tire method.

Haven't tackled portages yet but I'm going to give this method a try. We live in a fairly wet climate and I have always been worried they'd just rot. But I haven't tried lol
