Thanks nick much appreciated 🤝👍
Nice job!
brilliant result and what a team performance, they came well for you, that's is a lot of water to cross if they come straight, at least you can sleep well after a race like that, and glad they are working home for you
Yeah certainly is merv, think if they cross the water in that line you talk about I think that would be around 2 hours 30 odd on just would water!!!
I had my last one reported south of Dublin god love her, she got across which is a great thing!!
Many thanks once again merv 👍🤝 take care you and your better half 🙌

Hi Steven

I’ve been where you were last week, good to see returns were better this week. Lifts your spirits for sure.
Thanks flam!!! That’s very much appreciated! It’s unfortunate that we have to go through these races at times! But we can’t do nothing about the weather 👎 hopefully we see the back of them type of races 🤯😂

What good race birds came well keep up the good work
thanks pal! was happy with them! all in great order! credit to the boys looking after them also on the transporter! 👍
Great returns Steven. Absolutely fantastic. We ourselves in the south we have never lost as many birds as we did this year. Experienced birds lost in tosses and short races not pleasant but we keep going. Any way thanks for the great videos and keep up the great work thanks
Sorry to hear that pal! Nothing more wrecks your head when these things happen...... do you think youve a idea as to why?
just have to dust yourself down and keep moving with the birds in the loft! if i didnt have them i dont know where id be!
I wish you success and more happy racing pal take care 👍🤞
Great returns Steven especially from the channel keep up the good work
thank you pal, worked in well mate 😀
John patterson, what a man, and what a pigeon man. Absaloute legend of the sport, wish him many more years in the sport at the top level. Good result for you and youre Da stephen. I no it was a blow home but they still have to do it, and many cant or just wont. We used to race from talbenny years ago, 121 miles straight across from dublin, and we got better returns from sennen Cove and penzance than talbenny, years before that we raced Oakhampton more inland than talbenny, that was knick named the graveyard, and was eventually stopped. Roll on saturday so are you lads back down land past skib or bqck across the water and down 2 cornwall pal??
Yeah it great to have that wind help him across, problem is they keep getting push inland then having to work into a head wind to make it back home in the last part. Heart of steel pigeons des.
Yeah it’s unbelievable John still at the top of his game. There every week! Unreal stuff!
We go to macroon for another derby race des 225 I think, so here’s hoping 🤞🤞🤞
@ssbrownracingpigeons37 they do big time have hearts of steel, and an unbelievable determination to get home also. When I raced and 1 came back flown out and either fell over or stumbled in on the landing board my ma would say, gonin and make sure that1 is ok and gets a drink and give it a few peanuts from me, she couldn't believe that they where that tired, she new i had the electrolights in the water you see. Sure John has being winning generation after generation, there's a lovely video on Eddie Barry loft videos on here of when he and big Gerry McCourt went up to visit him about 3 years ago, talk about pulling at you're heart strings.
Do you boys not go any further than macroom??, I taught like us in the south road fed you lads went right down to barleycove stephen ??
@@desburke7786 brilliant des, your mother making sure your on your toes with the birds mate!! I have the oul lad for that too!
Yeah I’ve watched it des! Great video of an insight to the legend he is, always enjoy his stories when I see him up at the ballylesson centre! Could listen to him all day 🙌
Normally our derbies are in Skibbereen 254 usually…. The Derek Wishart classic derby has been held from Macroon the last few years I think des… think before than it was pilmore beach but I could be wrong..
@ssbrownracingpigeons37 yes stephen I tink you're spot on with pilmore Beach, as we used to fly from there and barleycove, years before that we flew from valentia also, and years before that the lads flew the ship race's up to 100 miles out to sea I believe, so barleycove to dublin is 200 miles and add another 100 to that, was very tough racing, and reports from fishermen in an east North East wind that the birds naturally would be flying low or as we call it hedge hopping that the birds where seen being taken bye a rogue wave here and there, eventually it stopped, was to much and poor returns also.
Yes my ma loved watching them return even from evening training she would sit there with a cup of tea and a smoke, and watch then hit the sputnik and go in like lightning, and she would say do you feed them at all there F/King starving, so I would have them picking away at linseed and say now look 20 birds 20 ounces and watch them 1 by 1 stop eating there race mix and go 2 the drinker and fly 2 there perch and there would be 2-3 ounces left after there all done mostly barley say, and I'd say now what does that tell you, and she would be at a loss, and I'd say 2 her that's when you no there in form and you have 2 take note of what ones went to the drinker first, and come Saturday she would say there's that lad with the white wings or head thatb stopped eating early all week, they never failed to amaze her. My Da clocked them on a saturday if I was working, he was a little heavy handed do down feathers all over the place lol and the rubber jammed in the timble, because we lived in the line of flight had 2 get a refarees whistle 2 get the birds 2 break over or before the house so they wouldn't get dragged on + my Da had no teeth 2 whistle 😜😜😁😁 great memories pal
@@desburke7786 I certainly enjoy hearing the times of old, I would be done in if I had the rubber rings and the old shuttle cocks 😂😂😂😂 the stories I hear from dad and the other fellas make me regret not starting a lot earlier with pigeons. Memories last a life time des something no one can take from you, that oul saying your mother knows best 😂😂
Thanks des appreciate you watching and commenting 🤝🤝
Bet you got a shock getting 4 together...fantastic!
Our turn for the hit this week, most fanciers have lost about a third of their birds.
We think the strong SE wind might have blown them over from the lib site at Marlborough over into Wales...we live on the West Coast of Cumbria.
Like you we hope a few tow in or are reported
Near sh1t 😂😂😂 we got them all thankfully one reported in Dublin that needs a helping hand!
Oh dear Andrew it’s grim! I can honestly feel the heart ache with it! You think they have just carried on up the coastline?
Sorry to hear pal! Finger crossed some find there way back! Hopefully your bushmills hen isn’t back there!! 😬
@@ssbrownracingpigeons37 she made it home safely 👍
Keep going
Hope all is going with you and the bird Peter… thank you 💪👍
@@ssbrownracingpigeons37 I am forming a new team to race 900 km next year. The results now on the races 300 km / 500 km are good for the goal I have
@@petersymaeys6067 great stuff Peter good to set your targets I hope it goes extremely well for you 🤞🙏
Well done lads cracking video keep up the good work 👍👍
thanks pal much appreciated 👏👍

We done again. Fine performance. this week is our last race. Manfredonia 410 miles to me. sending ten. hope all goes well.
Good luck 👍
That’s George! Hope your well….. that’s great! I wish and hope you get a great race!!! Let me know how you go! And I left you a message on the Facebook, no rush but any questions just firing them there. Good luck and bless there wings for the race 💪💪👍👍
Birds came very well 👍🏻
thanks bill much appreciated 👍👍
Probably get better trapping if you didn't stand near the landing board. Only my opinion.
You kept us waiting this week, I've been looking every few hours since Saturday. Well done on the results, I love ye dad, bleep, bleep reminds me of me when I was racing, defo old school. Glad your getting last week's birds back, knew you would, there too good. Sorry about the one found close to home, do you know what happened to it?
Great returns in numbers from the channel, I remember sending only 2 to Niort, France, a mother and daughter, came 1st and 2nd fed, they both dropped together, never seen returns like yours from a channel race. Looking forward to next week, thanks Chris
Sorry my friend!! im abit late! i love my road racing and might have been glued to watching the isle of man TT 🤣🤣 my apologies 😀
Non Fancier found it in the garden, said no marks or signs of attacked, then he mentioned he had cats lol so abit of a mystery..... maybe give his all??
Yeah as mention not keen on it lol, but do love seeing them come outta it!
Amazing! Clocking out of france is something else!! esp being 1st n 2nd fed! and a mother and dau!!! just class!
Dad says he calm, cool and collective 🤣🤣🤣 untill he sees the first one! out the window! But sure if it didnt get us like that we would have budgies 😂
Thanks again for your veiwing and kind comments :)
Lovely job
cheers ray! hope your well 😀
@@ssbrownracingpigeons37 il be deffo missing racing when ive to stop. Difficult getting my head around it. Im already trying not to surrender and try just race youngbirds next year. I love youngbird racing. Due to my back i didnt have a youngbird season and now 2024 i wont. I could maybe not race oldbirds next year and maybe do one last youngbird season
After race 6 you need a lift by the birds hopefully they gave it to you race 7.
up and downs of it pal! we just try a move forward in the best way! 😁thanks chum
Has the uk ever sent birds to Ireland for a liberation point
Maybe a lot of years ago, but I’m unsure pal, most uk clubs go to France and same as us, uk then France mate 👍
