Ugandan army takes back control of Somali military base

- Uganda says it has taken back control of its military base that was recently captured by al-Shabaab militants in Somalia. Al-Shabaab militants on May 26 claimed to have been about 800 in number, attacked and overran the Buulo Mareer forward operating base manned by Ugandan peacekeepers under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

@skp this is war. Things happen. If you are in a defensive position then anything can happen. So after 10 years you think holding the base for a week is a success then good for you.
Bring back our Army just like the way Americans did remove theirs from Afghanistan
Regular army, especially foreign fighters on a salary, is hard to fight with Al Shabab; fighting with local tribal militias and providing opportunities to those regions would be a better option. Although it's shocking how many Ugandan troops were killed in this war, Al-Shabab were not more than 5000 men determined to kill and die with powerful ideology.
But brother, we came in 2007 alone spent a year, ceared Mogadishu, and statehouse, no one could do that , you can judge when you're not on ground, it's African solutions for African problems
@@katiitimark2363 Al-Shabab are a bunch of murders; they have recruited many young unemployed living, extremely poverty boys into theirs; all I am saying is the only way we can win this war is by showing these boys there is a better way to make a living and helping their communities is a priority.

Remember, the U.S and the West are behind these terrorist agents and are using Africans to kill other Africans. Look up Operation Timber Sycamore where U.S government literally created isis and alqaeda.
Don’t believe these western media and propaganda. Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, the Black Panther Movement were ALL called terrorist by the West. In fact, Nelson Mandela was on the U.S terrorist watchlist until 2008 because the apartheid regime in South Africa along with U.S, Britain, and Israel saw him as a threat.
Africa needs to STOP playing into the western colonials who are literally funding and training our Africans brothers and sisters to fight another under the disguise of “fighting” terrorism when they themselves are the terrorist.
I’ve seen how African leaders now being pushed into supporting lgbt nonsense and other immoral practices on our continent. They’re AFRAID of Somalia 🇸🇴 because Somalis have dragged U.S soldiers for invading their countries with lies.
Africa should unite against FOREIGN colonial powers not fight for their wicked agenda.

Al-Shabab usually attacked Ugandan and Burundian armies. why they don't dare to attack Ethiopian troops in recent years? I hope that the Ugandan head of state will assess the situation, therefore, bring capable soldiers who can confront the opponents.

The UN Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has been remiss in its responsibility to deliver quality training and technologies. Upon arrival, the UPDF should have been properly integrated in the information process both with ATMIS and the Somali forces, which was not done. Practically, as claimed by commanders, there was intelligence failure... But UNSOS run mostly by western africans, will always hide their failures... .....
