The mentality of people is that the car with higher mrp is always more luxurious. When you see that XC40 is the only one assembled in India you understand that all the other cars are just 50 lakhs of tax. All these cars are priced between 60 to 80k dollars in the US market.
Well i would never be fan of these but I've say AUDI does retain that feel of a "CAR" & not a Gadget... These screen & lights and beautifications are just not my type!!!
Compliments for great review. V all have perspectives n varying requirements. Volvo c 40 recharge I understand a good car but can’t be compared in this segment but of (ix1 bmw). A few missing points i observed in bmw ix- the glass roof makes it feel so spacious n the seating for back row ( especially 5th passanger ) is like luxury sofa of living room without any center hump. The doors- try opening them n get the rimless window down -it’s like a convertible door.
These marquee brands have priced themselves out of the market at 1 crore+ for 99% of the prospective customers. The biggest downside is the steep depreciation and the huge battery replacement in the future for subsequent owners. Please bring in a comparison between the more affordable brands and models.
Out of reach, yes but so are their ICE counterparts, depreciation and battery replacement costs are sheer myth, EVs fetch even more resale due to far less moving parts and almost nil wear n tear, also all modern battery packs are good enough for atleast a million kms which is way more than engines of any ICE cars.
@@turbohead2009 sheer myth? Do get a quote for a battery replacement without warranty and be prepared to get your socks blown off.. Speaking from experience.. Anyhow, hope the costs fall drastically as more ev adopters come into the market coupled with advancements in battery tech!
I said this earlier and I'm saying it again... pls make a comparison video on the X5, GLE, XC90, Lexus RX and the Q7😭- there is no comparison video on the latest generations
The only nice thing is the ‘badge’ - the resale value will be abysmal, for several reasons: 1. The replacement cost alone, of the EVs battery, will be more than the IDV of the old vehicle, after a few years, so insurance will be a fraction of the cost of replacement. 2. The cost of damage repair will be prohibitive, since the battery is built-in to the floorpan, hence any collision is likely to result in huge replacement costs (a new battery is prohibitively expensive, as the battery cost is more than 50% of the entire new car). 3. Battery technology is changing so rapidly, that not only will the present battery be obsolete in a few years, but it may be impossible to get a replacement, as the new batteries will probably not be backwards-compatible (to fit into old vehicles). So you are better-off buying a (substantially cheaper) ‘mass market’ EV, that will not only give you the required performance, but can be scrapped a few years down the line, without breaking the bank.

Why don’t you do an honest test, with all of these cars on one side and ‘normal’ people’s cars on the other? Consider Merc, Audi, BMW, Jag and Porsche on the one hand and Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq5, Kona, MG ZS, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 400 on the other. And evaluate them on the following parameters. 1. Actual range on a 100 to 0 charge by driving across different terrain and conditions. City, steep hills, long plains drives, and measure the performance in winter and in summer. 2. Tell us more about the batteries and their life and whether or not they can be repaired on reconditioned in segments or sections. 3. Tell us about the time taken to charge upto different levels, using different types of charging infrastructure. And above all, do all of this transparently and honestly in one place, so that normal people can understand clearly about these Alternate Fuelled vehicles.

Anyone else feel in EVs all these luxe badges have lost their meaning? Aren’t Kia, Hyundai and Volvo EVs better looking and modern? What’s luxurious about these now that the combustion engine isn’t there?
Jaguar all day every day cause of feel
09:35 for features comparison
Merc wins hands down on features!
It is so funny that Volvo xc40 recharge is as fast as all of these while being less than half the price. No one reviewed it seriously.
Yes but it lacks luxury, space, features and wow factor.
XC40 Recharge can be compared to Mercedes-Benz EQA and BMW iX1. But both models haven't launched in India yet.

Merc exterior is the worst, interior is great.
Jaguar is my pic ❤❤
One can easily customize the info screen on the BMW and it is easy to use once you are familiar with it or with any car.
You are right, B in BMW IX stands for Boost mode!
No it doesn’t, it stands for brake regen on so you don’t need to use brakes to slow down
Jaguar love it 😊❤
BMW iX
driving dynamics of jaguar I-pace and interiors of BMW IX. Mercedes has best battery technology it seems in terms of efficiency.
