Could you just nail full sheets to the bottom of the floor joists? I’ve got a post and pier addition and last winter my floors were so cold in the winter I couldn’t walk on them without socks.
Could u've place the foam board on the floor n go under the floor n trace out a number of the patterns then cut them out ...just a thought I know nothing about this kinda work tbh

or just place full sheets directly on top of joists and use longer screws when attaching plywood.
Jigsaw, that's clever.
It worked well. After doing this with razor knife and circular saw the jig saw works best.

Each of my joists were just off enough that I had to measure and cut each one separately.
