I love delfayo solo on this one, but I definitely think that Vincent Gardner is playing here one of the most important solo on trombone in the all Jazz History!!!!
With the exception of Gross and Gardner, I know everyone in the band personally. True, I have heard Marlon sound "better" but if you know anything about Marlon and his family, you know that they are always reaching for something beyond the status quo. I think that's what Marlon was doing...some things came out, some didn't...that's jazz baby. Plus, as a trumpeter, the amount of control he displayed was very commendable.
Vincent makes that trombone sound like a baritone sax. He has a great amount of creativity and control of sound, making musical expression rather than a technical display.
seems like we got a marching band player here who just thinks that playing loud and "cranking" makes you good your only really good when you can develop your own sound and master your instrument

Check out Marlon Jordan 2013 playing the tune Cherokee. That was a fun night!
Un placer escuchar este estilo musical! Saludos desde Tucumán Argentina

JLCO is playing in Eugene, Oregon tomorrow night. I hope Vincent Gardner will be with them.
I feel better already
I LIKE IT! I mean I would have personally liked to hear Jordan do something else with this solo; but, it jammed and went with the rest of the piece!

what the hell happened to marlon
This video is incomplete. A shame really.
Are you talking about your existence?
Lol he sounds like a wanne be wynton
the word you are looking for is New Orleans
No one ever says “that sounds like a wannabe miles” or wanna Coltrane or Bird
Do your homework and check more of marlon out. He’s played some shit that makes Wynton look like the wannabe.

Seems like you can't swing
Not really ... if you think it’s too loud, check out more music. Plus that’s referencing the audio engineer not the band
Lol get a load of this poser
Experimentation is good.
