The Sony Security issues wasn’t the main issue, no what really pissed everyone off was Sony selling their products worldwide in 170 countries then revoking the purchases of all customers from for 110 countries without any refunds.
Blatantly violating “International Consumer Protection Laws” on a worldwide scale. It’s basically a worldwide Rugpull from an official Legit Videogame Publisher, so since it’s a clear open & shut case that shows Sony clearly is in the wrong especially since their own internal studio Arrowhead has officially whistleblowed on them telling the public that Sony is responsible for this mess & was facing possible multi trillion dollar Class Action lawsuits from 110 countries realising they were screwed if they didn’t back down from their initial plans to revoke millions of purchases so they backed off & went back to the drawing board.
So, let me get this straight, Helldivers 2 are published in the Steam, without the requirements of signing in into PSN. So, this will make the games available almost in every country.
While it is still in the Steam, Sony decided to make signing in to PSN as mandatory, in which make players can't play the game IF they didn't have / didn't signed in to the PSN account.
Later on, they decide to NOT make them mandatory to sign in. Yet, they remove the game from country that AREN'T PSN ACCESSIBLE.
If i give an analogy of current situation, it's like me owning a car, then they decided to limit my accessibility on a certain region. Beforehand, they just take away my key when i ride beyond that region, but the new policy is they take my car away instead of taking just my key, am i right? Is my understanding the current situation correct?

Too be fair, Helldivers would literally give it community like 2 days to kill a million bugs. That is a pretty massive Coordinated effort, so the reaction to Sony’s announcement was nothing crazy, they were basically doing exactly what the game was teaching them to do.

SO, with the Moist ESports issue started with the DHS-Customs and Border Protection (CBP) denied them ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).
“U.S. Immigration” is actually the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and they do NOT handle the ESTA or visa process. They handle family and employment petitions for alien nationals, green cards, employment authorizations, naturalizations, etc.
Back to Moist, since the CBP denied his team ESTA, they had to apply for B1/B2 non-immigrant visas and so on.
What is EXTREMELY important to note that ESTA is NOT a visa, but is the visa waiver program. ESTA falls under the national and border security discretion.
If they get denied ESTA, that’s a “c’est la vie” moment.
I’ve done enough inquiries to CBP, USCIS, and other DHA agencies to know that fighting the security apparatus is very difficult.
Good luck to Moist, but because he’s in Florida, I can inquire on his behalf with the DHS-CBP, but he’d have to reach out to my office and sign the consent form.

The issue with the psn accounts that people have is both the hacking and the fact that psn isn't available in half the world (geographically). This meant that people in many countries, like Japan, bought helldivers but are now no longer allowed to play the game because psn isn't available to them.

One way EA could implement ads is the "press this, i play a 30 second ad an you get some bonuses" it's a win-win and it promotes an interaction - which basically mean you're consenting to their idea of giving people ads. If you want the bonus you'll be given an ad, if you don't want an ad you don't get a bonus, and you'll be grinding away at the game.
The thing with having ads in games is that it can work very well.
-NFS The Run has Old Spice races with a special vehicle.
-Gran Turismo has Tag Heuer as their time keeper thing.
-Many other racing games have Gran Turismo appear on a window decal.
-Sports games like FIFA would be more immersive having ads where it would appear in real life, on the side of the football field.
-Monster Energy drinks appeared in Death Stranding.
-Some games have real branded apparel like in Tom Clancy's Wildlands with 5.11 gear and Oakley glasses.
Its been done very well before. However, the way EA is putting it, makes me worry why they even have to think about it this hard.

Bro the best example I've seen of ads in games is like in death stranding. There was the monster cans. It was obvious product placement yes but it didn't mess with anything really in the game it was just there. I had no issues with it. Or if like the character drinks a coke or something like no issues.
