So is it recommended. My buddy has one and he’s trying to get me to get one I had a scrambler 1000 and it didn’t disappoint. Right now I’m debating on a rzr or the highlifter sportsman1k
very nice looking quad. i was looking at the high lifter sportsmans. i dont do any mud riding. the 1 reason i would by a high lifter is because they look like they would be really good in snow. we get alot of that hear in in pennsylvania. was possibly adding a snowplow
Thanks! If you arent doing any mud riding i would recommend the trail package XP sportsmans. 1. Because the HL suspension is terrible for any type of trail riding. 2. the gear reduction has the bike redlined at 50mph, on a normal sportsman thats easy cruising speed in high range. The normal XP 850/1000 can plow great in low range and with a set of tires and maybe a 2" lift will handle snow no problem. Just dont want you to be disappointed in such a large purchase. Thanks for watching!
I couldnt get a straight answer as to if the stock cover was upgraded from previous years or not. The billet ones from cecco eliminated the doubt, and they arent expensive. But in hind sight the pinion shaft snapped anyway even though the cover was intact. So the best move is the Rzr 900 swap. Its just a more sturdy design
so i saw your comment on trail riding with this. next week i am possibly getting a high lifter. the reason i’m getting one is because it is a killer deal that would be stupid to turn down. like 400 miles and they only want payoff because the owner got pregnant Lol. would it be easy (enough) to make it more trail rideable? thanks!
Well, the short answer is yes you can make it more trail rideable. A 2" lift and xp shocks will accomplish the better trail ride as long as you stick to a 30" or less tire. Or no lift just shocks and a 27" or less tire. And its great because the rad relocate and snorkel setup is awesome, cant be matched by aftermarket equip. The issue is the gearing, the motor will be redlined at 50mph, and most "trail machines will ride at 50mph effortlessly and exceed speeds of 70+ for short bursts leaving you way behind on every ride all the time. It gets old. You can do a high gear swap if you are able to or know someone who can do it for you and have best of both worlds, Low low gear- High high gear. I sold mine because the maintenance never ends, weak polaris components like steering stem, rear prop shaft, starter, rad fans, all needing to be replaced multiple times within 1 year of owning on top of normal stuff like axles, bushings, diff seals, not to mention the trash front diff WILL fail and need to be replaced. That over 1k alone just for new diff nevermind labor. In all honesty id stay away from any polaris atv after owning a couple since 2018. My RZR S has been great though. Im not convinced Can Am is much better either. Both brands seem to be money pits. Not to steer you away from either or discourage you, just want to be real with you about what you are getting into. If i was gonna get another atv today id get a Grizzly fwiw. Jap durability is far superior less power but save on your wallet in a big way.
You will love it , I have a 2019 and I’ve put it through some pretty intense shit and it’s never let me down or stranded
Awesome! Im loving it so far!

@@SketchyXC thank you for getting and im gonna take your advice
Excellent purchase. I have the 2019 version and it's pretty bad ass except for all the damn orange on it. These machines are beasts. Congrats.
Thx man! Im def happy with it so far
Beautiful machine but always wonder about the maintenance on Polaris. Definitely curious how you make out
160 miles so far, no issues yet. Seems to be built pretty tough but we'll see. Thx for watching!
why would you do a pinion cover when the 2019 2020 have heavy duty ones vs the other ones?
