    How long can this run dry or partially primed? I want to use it to keep low lying areas dry while I'm pressure washing (bottom of my driveway, around my pool) and it's likely the pump will outrun the pressure washer, but I need a pump running the entire time I'm pressure washing to keep the nasty water from running into the pool.

    Warning from first hand experience. Don't remove any more screws and try to clean deeper than the video shows.
    I assumed I needed to remove the silver screws to take out the pump and really clean the impeller which was clogged with grass. After getting it open I dumped out clear liquid quick I incorrectly assumed was water.
    If you're reading this after the fact and made the same mistake I did, to replenish, get a hold of some dielectric oil, 15oz , to refill per a customer service response I got.

      I just made this exact mistake. There appear to be a lot of choices. Did they recommend a particular viscosity?

    I’ve used this for less than 2 weeks and it’s starting to not work. It is cold (above freezing) but I’m only trying to remove about 2 inches of water. I’m disappointed I store it indoors and performed the first maintenance tip. I plant to get a new hose but this is just disappointing. Is it not meant to be out in 40 degree weather?

    Being as it does not automatically shut off, if you leave it running after water is gone , how long before it ruins the pump?

      If you haven't discovered it yet, there is a new model out with an auto shutoff. It's the Water Bug Glow. I just saw it at Home Depot.

    How deep of water can you put the water bug in

    • @AnthonyMiyazaki
      @AnthonyMiyazaki 9 місяців тому

      It's not the depth of the water that's the issue as much as it is the height that the water will be pumped. I've put into the bottom of a 9-foot pool and it works perfectly.

      Yes agreed. My old sump pump cost $85 in 2000 and worked for 18 years until I accidentally broke the intake screen and messes it up trying to fix it. I bought this ASSUMING there was a built in shut off. I truly cannot understand how these people can make something so prone to failure. The whole point is to NOT stand there and watch it while it drains your whatever. The idea that a utility pump could destroy itself by running on with no water is incredible. So I’m on my second one and even that one has a shut off triggered by heat, not water level. And it doesn’t self reset either. Shame shame.
