- New PB and I believe chassis record (edit: since been broken by everyone) at Laguna today. Fairly happy with this time although I certainly think a mid 1:41 is possible with this setup. I drove a bit sloppy and conditions weren't quite optimal.

Looking good Will! Did you move on from the GTI? I've been down to 1:43 on the GLA45 now, and like you, think I can do better! I haven't been on the new pavement, wonder how that is affecting times now?
thank you! Yes sold the GTI about a year ago and got this instead. That is quick! New pavement seems to be about 1-1.5s faster than before, so you could probably crack 1:41 next time out!
@@will_l Pretty ballsy late braking on Turn 2. I was going past 120 on Turn 1 and had my brakes fail into Turn 2! Was able to drift it through.

No oil cooler. I run Motul 5W-40 and do cool down laps when oil hits 255ish.
what's your wheel offset in order to fit those 255s?
17x9.5 ET40. Barely fits in the rear but I run a fairly high ride height. Also the 255 V730s run narrow, they’re basically a 245
As someone who will be on the track in 3 weeks how do you suggest we go about the oil issue? I see many people still track their BRZ’s and 86’s and thankfully have no issues. It is definitely giving me confidence leading up to my 1st track day
Run high quality 5W-40 oil and do a cool down lap if oil temp hits 250F. Otherwise don’t worry much. I don’t mean this an insulting way, but if it’s your first track day you likely won’t be going fast enough to cause starvation issues.
@@will_l I understand completely. I knew that in my head I won’t be going as fast the first few times of tracking.
I am sure that on A052s/Re71rs sub 1:40 will be very doable.

@@DiamondKRacingI have a Stoptech st40 kit on now that I got for cheap from a friend. But the OEM calipers/rotors were totally sufficient with proper pads and fluid
