Hey Jay it's Bryan from Lou's Exhaust in Milford. Been checking out the channel and super glad I came across this meet-up. Just picked up a 2006 P71 and doing a good amount of work to it in the next few months. Definitely interested in these meetups and any information would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I wonder if push bars can be added or used on a Lincoln like the Crowns!? 🤷‍♂️

These cars still make good daily drivers if you need something rock solid and fairly durable. They do have a few problems though. The frame and rocker sections ahead of the rear tires can get soft. It’s just the nature of the car however surface rust is no big deal and as long as you remember to blast the crud out of those holes it should keep the frame from rotting. Next is the paint. Some colors and some places seem to have issues adhering. It’s not all the panthers but certain years and certain colors seemed to have an issue only black abd white and whatever colors cop cars came in didn’t. Next issue is the intake manifold gaskets, they seem to have troubles on some years. It’s highly noticeable as you’ll find white dried out coolant or pooled coolant on some parts of the engine. The final 2 problems are finding parts and eating brakes, as these cars get older it’s increasingly hard to get parts almost anywhere things like ABS modules have to be rebuilt now since you can’t find replacements anywhere anymore. As to brakes all fords from this era has issues with under braking, ford made the rotors too small and in many cases they warp from the heating. I typically advise you change them every 3rd oil change however the P71 cop cars addressed this with better pads and larger rotors. While it will reduce the surface drilled and slotted rotors can improve cooling of the brakes on these tanks. Finally I’ll say that for the 4 to 6k price range and if you find one in good shape body wise mileage is not an issue as these cars will do 250,000 easy and if it doesn’t rot out you can get almost half a million out of them. The engine is just so understressed as is the drivetrain that they don’t blow up unless your beating the snot out of it
