Love my CLS6. Rarer and rarer every year. Everyone in my life begs me not to sell it. My parents bought manuals after driving mine, they took a break from stick when they had kids. My brother loved it so much he bought a manual prelude. my CLS6 personally changed a lot of lives in only two years
I owned and drove a 2003 Acura CL Type-S 6-speed for about 9 years, from 2010-2019. It was Aegean Blue Pearl. It was a beautiful car and I put a lot of money into maintenance and upgrades (shift knob, stereo system, performance tires, etc...). The best part about the CL Type-S was that compared to more modern cars (after 2010), it is just so mechanical and direct. The direct cable-actuated short throw shifter, the high-revving V6 engine, the hydraulic steering. It just makes you feel like you're actually driving a machine and not being driving by a computer. It's the closest thing you'll find to driving an early 2000's era NSX. Regrettably, I had to sell mine in 2019 as I didn't have a garage space to store it. It had around 150,000 miles at the time of sale. No rust. Might have needed a clutch, I'm not sure. Finally, this year, I missed it so much I went and bought an Apex Blue Pearl MDX A-Spec. It's not quite the same, but remarkably the gauges and instruments harken back to this era car in the A-Spec. That and the rev-happy VTEC V6 bring me right back to the joys of my old CL Type-S!
I had one. 2001 automatic. After 200,000 miles needing new paint and seats needing to be re upholstered I sold to the son of a friend. It was junked within a month. I should've kept and the restored. Transmission issue was taken care of before I owned it and car sounded like this one and switched gears seamlessly and powerfully. I'm definitely buying another, probably a 6 speed. First I'll get rid of 2 cars. Still the best car I ever owned.
So excited to get it and drive it 1900 miles home. CeLia (1 of 43) will be missed but CeciLia in silver looks like a great replacement! Definitely the most underappreciated Acura out there. . .
Misunderstood and undervalued car. Folks thought I was nuts flying 1,200 miles to pick one up back in '19. The non-navigation is where its at as the navigation unit is considered a dinosaur by current day standards. Nice looking Satin Silver CLS 6MT!
There were 2 for sale near me at one point. Satin silver one without nav, 140 something thousand miles, had many little dings, and one of the headlights was broken but it was cheap ($3200) Other one was a white one with nav but had a rebuilt title and the guy was selling it for $6500, trying to chock it up as being a super rare and valuable car with the 6 speed and nav lol
These folks didn't realize what a great car it is. I drove one as a daily. 100,000 miles in 5 years. It was so incredible. It's gone now 5-6 years. I will buy another one. Nothing compares and I've owned about 30 cars.
The fact that this car gets rarer and rare and I own 3 with under 90k on the clock is amazing I wouldn't trade not one of them for nothing. Cars were handed to me after family members got older and couldn't drive them no more.
Wow! What a special find for sure. Very clean I've never owned one of these honestly because I've never seen a manual transmission one for sale. I'm sure Eric will enjoy this one! Thanks for sharing this. I think manual transmission cars in general will be more collectable. They just aren't offered much anymore which is a shame.
Back when I bought my old 2003 Accord, I had test driven a 2002 CL Type-S, and nearly bought it. I still wish I had pulled the trigger on that deal. Ah well, glad to see this one still alive and well - the previous owner did a great job taking care of it!
I had gotten a 2001 San Marino Red CL in 2000 but after they released the manual in the 2003 model year I had to get one. Traded it in and never looked back. The manual transmission transformed the car. Got an Agean Blue Pearl with navi (1 of 68 apparently) in November 2002 and it's only got 86,000 miles currently.
Such a beautiful machine! Sadly I don’t know how to drive stick and currently have the auto version of this exactly spec and year. However I am in the process of trying to convince coworkers to show me how to drive stick so I can finally purchase one of these CLS6 ❤
Congrats Eric! I've got your car's cousin 2003 Accord 6-6 in Satin Silver. This car looks beautiful! Enjoy it. Tyson - Production numbers? I'm jealous because I've not found numbers for mine.
This is one of my cars ever. I almost bought an auto CL type S was my first car but the deal fell through. Shame! It was Aegean Blue Pearl!! Love that color. But my personal favorite is the Sundance Gold color which is even rare! Would do ANYthing for one
I have the same configuration except mine is (was) Anthracite , not Silver and I have the dealer option wing, splash guards, and body side molding. Bought it brand new in September, 2002. I have over 256,000 miles on it. I would have had more miles on it than that, but I have a 2nd car...
I had a 2003 CL automatic, trans was starting to slip, at like 80k miles, I would love to found a manual in stead back then... Got rid of it cause of that
SUPER NICE SUPER CLEAN I GOT THE SAME ONE AND RED NON-NAVIGATION WHAT 150 ON THE DASH GO ALONG WITH A 2010 SIX SPEED TL S H A W D, 2011 TL SH AWD.. I JUST LOVE THE WAY ACURAS HANDLE DRIVE AND THE MAINTENANCE
@@TysonHugie need to trim down stable of cars but the C. L. Is too rare to get rid of so I will probably get rid of my Auto T. L. Since those were mass produced
I figured, in fact I originally said something about Canadian-market Legends getting that but later removed the comment because I wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying!
@ Yes it was that one. It just sold yesterday I was the second one in line but I knew it would go quick. Unfortunately I couldn’t get my hands on it! Stay blessed my friend I love seeing all your Acuras. I hope to have a collection like yours one day. I just sold my Samba Green Del Sol SI…
ua-cam.com/video/d6UvviDN9_g/v-deo.html Power steering whining is caused by aftermarket high pressure hose. I used to have same color combo 03 CLS 6sp.

I knew you'd approve of this vid!

What a beautifull, elegant and rare car this is! What a great engine and what a nice design. I would love to own an Acura CL in this nice condition.

The 6MT Legend, CL and TL.
Timeless and bulletproof.
Acura's NOT the same anymore.

Cool car! I had no idea how rare these are. Congrats to Eric!
