    David Gilmore would love this gear in 1973. He would of done anything for this setup in 73. Great video Learned something as usual. Ty. Also the music comes out from within you. Playing “Run Like Hell” thinking of flowers and daisies doesn’t work. Think about the sonic sound you want their ears to hear, then play.

    I have noticed a few of these Gilmour tone vids and none of them contain a flanger, it's all chorus pedals. Now, call me dumb, but I believe the flanger was the pedal of the 70's and for Gilmour, it IS his sound. His sounds are far more flanger-y than chorus-y. Am I wrong?

    • @trevorclark7985
      @trevorclark7985  2 роки тому +2

      yes, he did use a flanger/chorus pedal during the 70s. I tried using flange and it just didn’t sound right to me

      Mooer E-Lady in front of the Muff works for me. Cheap and effective.
      For the Pulse tones, Chorus on everything is the way. You nailed that 100 %

      @@mattgilbert7347 Agreed the E-Lady is very nice .

    The Mooer E-Lady would certainly compliment and complete the set up...!?

    No mention of effects loop ?

      For this video, all the pedals are in front of the amp. You could certainly try using the FX loop for some of the modulation.

    Very nice for the components you're using! I've heard a lot worse from people using a lot more expensive pedals.

    For such a competent guitar player and knowledgeable pedal mixer your audio in this vid is needing work! I went from below half volume with your guitar intro to full volume to make out what you were saying.. You've achieved a great tone except when you want to talk about it..

  • @DavidCrites07
    @DavidCrites07 2 роки тому +1

    Your tone for the Time solo is pretty close, well done. David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist..I’m trying to get my tone to sound similar to his with a Marshall Origin 20c, proco rat 2, Ibanez mini chorus, Behringer cs400 compressor, boss dm-2w delay and tc electronic hall of fame 2. I don’t have a Big Muff yet but will probably get one eventually.

    • @davidsisto7694
      @davidsisto7694 2 роки тому +1

      How do like the Ibanez mini chorus? Starting a new project that is heavily influenced by Gilmour(Division Bell & Rattle That Lock especially) amongst others' style and tone. I don't have one yet but the Proco RAT is a must in my opinion but also like the depth of a Blues Driver...I use the Blue Note by J. Rockett Audio. Depending on the recording (studio vs. concert) different equipment is used and am not a fan of fuzz in the mix and have heard great Gilmour emulation without it....depending on the song of course. I highly recommend the Catalinbread Echorec for all eras of Gilmour.

    • @DavidCrites07
      @DavidCrites07 2 роки тому +1

      @@davidsisto7694 I like the tones you can get with the Ibanez mini chorus, it sounds very similar to the Ibanez cs9. The only thing I don’t like is that it’s very hard to see the level and depth knobs. I ended up getting some white paint and putting a mark on them so I could see to make adjustments better. I’ll check out that Catalinbread Echorec.

      @@DavidCrites07 The SONICAKE Fazy Cream is a very nice Muff , to me sounds like a rams head / triangle . Best bit is it's super cheap around $20 and worth a go for your rig .

    Thanks Trevor❗️I too wished I had seen this video before I dropped a boat load of cash on pedals... I found an inexpensive (?) tube practice amp on Craigslist that sounds good. Unfortunately I purchased another practice amp (transistor) that sounded horrible... Oh well, live and learn. 👍

      big muff, chorus pedal, compression, some delay and a good amount of reverb. obviously a bridge pickup on strat as well

    • @mattgilbert7347
      @mattgilbert7347 2 роки тому

      Correct me if I am wrong, but Gilmour never uses reverb pedals, no? Some room Verb on the records.
      It's all delay for Gilmour. From Binson to the modern MXR rack units and now high end pedals.
      However, your tone absolutely rules so wgaf!

    Nice work man!!! Salute !! My mentor David Gilmour for guitar. Always loved his solos ....instead of getting back behind a kit I picked up the guitar in 2018. In a bit of a rutt at the moment but I love the journey so far. The block I have has been about a week. It's been difficult. Time will pass and I'll get it back again. Just been fiddling about. Heheheh. Awesome job here man. Love the gear and the playing.

      you’ll need a proco rat pedal for that one. Although you can use a big muff as well. No chorus. And they recorded that by having david record over the first track to make it sound like a delay
