As a kurd i wonder why nobody is talking about the huge presence of the kurds at that time?
Jerusalem Damascus Aleppo nearly all the cities on the coast has a specific neighborhood named the kurdish neighbourhood because all the kurds that are brought by saladin.
Saladin himself is wearing the kurdish clothes in his image on the Ayyubid dirham.
His uncle shêrko has a popular kurdish name which means the mountain lion 🏔️ 🦁.
The kurds were at least half of the Ayyubid army in the battle of hattin .
The king of crusaders ge de lusinian was caught by a kurdish soldier named darbaz.
This video deserves more likes- God wills it
Seeing this battle helps me to better understand how Temujin (Genghis Khan) was able to conquer the area that he did using horsemen with bows and arrows as their primary weapons. Sure there were siege weapons, but they came at a later time in the campaigns.
Yes but even so the Mongols didn't employ seige weapons as much as other military forces of that time. They would set up camp in front of a castle/fortification and starve them out.
thanks so very much!!! oh total war thanks for the cinematic for each one of warriors and they weapons an horses!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL EMOTIONS THAT AM FEELING 👏👏👏❤️👋👋👋

The Crusaders showed that hubris and stupidity are not a good combo!😂⚔⚔⚔
Actually that wasn't the Crusaders as a whole, it was Guy who's hubris and stupidity led to the downfall of Jerusalem, never should have been King. If he actually listened to Raymond of Tripoli they would have never been in that position at Hattin.

WOW very good graphics for a 2006 game! Excellent content. The battle took place on the 4th of July too. It truly was a critical mistake to march thousands of heavy infantry in those conditions during the day. I bet there were countless crusader troops killed by simply being delusional, exhausted and let the attackers mow them down to end the misery. Once heat stroke starts your body just shuts down. Saladin truly maximized his forces against the bold arrogance of the crusaders.
It's not a 2006 game, it's a 2015 game, Atilla. They modded it for this time period.
look at the bold arrogant Crusaders of 21st century, and what they are doing NOW against the Muslims in holy lands... USA UK FRANCE EU and many many more : fighting against who...
You mean the bold arrogance of Guy alone? Why categorise all of the Crusaders as arrogant when it was merely Guy and a few others who single handedly caused the downfall of Jerusalem?
@@tobiasbourne9073 I believe it was Allah Himself who caused the LOSS of the cross-worshippers. His Mujahedeen was Victorious, same as now Muslims in Afghanistan against the same CRUSADES fighting 2001-20021.... history repeating itself...
@@adopodrinje1499 OK... but if it weren't for bad Christian leadership they would have remained in control of Jerusalem
Most excellent grahics depictions !
Saladin was a powerful leader indeed, he had an endless supply of men power.
He is very overrated as a leader. It is his father who did the work to allow Saladin to have endless reinforcements in Egypt and such, and the only real times he was successful is when he exploited Crusader infighting, which is exactly what happened at Hattin, he got absolutely mullered by Richard I and Baldwin IV when fighting them and only consistently won when fighting weak leaders like Guy.
He didn't have that much manpower, he struggled with getting enough men. This was especially apparent as he had to split his army and leave a lot of it in syria for much of the 3rd crusade because he needed to be ready for the hre forces.
@@tobiasbourne9073 He isn't overrated.
As for the father setting up things, that goes for many great leaders in history like alexander the great, yet that takes nothing from their achievements.
Salah-ad-din also had to actually get to the top of the leadership, he was not sultan in the beginning and had to usurp the fatamids then take over the zengid possessions to fight the crusaders, though he had luck with the latter faction's leader dying so he could just take it.
Furthermore Salah-ad-din was fighting on multiple fronts. He had half of his army with him, the other half had to guard against the imminent invasion from barbarrossa.
Salah-ad-din also had to deal with major disunity in the muslim world and was actually quite strapped for manpower at many times.
He had to literally burn cities and be defensive because he was so weakened.
My final point is that his losses on the battle field don't make him a bad leader. He was far superior in tactics to his enemies, they won battles but lost the war. Tactics far outweigh battle prowess.
People like pyrhuss won battle after battle but it meant nothing because they couldn't cause their enemies to lose heart.
Salah-ad-din's forward thinking let him cause the crusaders so many problems that the crusade was lost.
@Resentfuldragon Do you know anything about the Third Crusade and the final years of Christian Jerusalem? Where are you getting this idea that Saladin had 'better tactics' against his enemies? He didn't win a single sodding battle during the crusade- lost at Arsuf, lost at Jaffa, lost at Acre. The only time he could win during the crusade is when he didn't even fight the Christians due to the logic of Richard the Lionheart knowing that his short manpower couldn't hold Jerusalem even if they captured it. There's no 'strategy' about Saladin, the simple fact is that he had more men, and even then I would hesitate to say he actually 'won' the Crusade given how useless he was as the Muslim leader in it. And mostly the only times he won during the Christian reign is because of such a terrible leader for the Crusades who became king because an idiotic woman thought she was smart marrying him. Saladin's tactics at Hattin would have only ever worked on weak commanders like Guy de Lusignan, so I'd be cautious talking about Saladin as some great tactician. All I really need to say to conclude is that he won only 1 battle against Baldwin IV, won his only major battles against a terrible and incompetent opponent, and didn't win a single battle against Richard the Lionheart.
@@tobiasbourne9073
Man your comment shows that you really don’t know shit about Saladin lol, he had to literally overthrow the Fatimid dynasty on his own and to control all of Egypt to even think about attacking the crusaders.
A 67 year old female came upon this matter really enjoyed something different this marching of soldiers a little more space
great editing and good commentary
thirsty crusaders getting screwed, logistics the death of most armies

The animation is done very well and the events are accurate. But....there is no dessert in the Galilee. There was no "dessert" heat, just the usual heat though on that day, July 4, it was hotter than usual. So the video depicts the kind of ground you find in the summer in the south of Israel. I live in Tiberias and the "Horns of Hittim" are just around the corner from me. Hittim, means "wheat" in Hebrew.
