"I dunno how many people were pogging their mind out about Court of Oryx" tell that to my wife, it's all she talks about in relation to the dreadnought.
You mentioned double perks on weapons from Episode: Revenant - as someone who played a lot during this season, these double perk weapons did not just feel rare, they were rare and could not drop on all items. The only place you could get double perks on weapons was from Onslaught Salvation, and only at the end of a 50 wave. This meant that you usually took about 1h+ to get a single weapon with double perks, with the weapon being random, making it not a viable way to farm the weapons. The reason why this season felt so bad with the weapons is that seasonal weapons have 7 perks in both the 3rd and 4th column, so you had a 1/49 chance to get a 2/5 roll on a weapon, something very abysmal for seasonal weapons.

one thing that I think bungie could experiment with is a rogue like gamemode similar to what vermintide 2 has. vermintide 2 is also a looter game with weapons that have essentially the same perk system that destiny has. vermintide 2's rogue like gamemode forces the player to only be able to choose base white rarity weapons to start and then as you go through the levels you gain currency that lets you buy weapon upgrades so that by the end of the run if you have made it to the final level you essentially will have the equivalent of exotic tier items equipped and you earn rewards that help with the progression outside that gamemode. having this style of mode in destiny i think would be really fun because you would be able to put together a build with the gear you find and actually be able to feel the power of your selected upgrades. maybe this kind of thing could happen after the armor rework because the most complex thing to get right about a build in destiny is finding armor. the frontier armor looking way simpler would definitely help this kind of mode work better.
Ive honestly been wishing for something like this for a wild the thing with the boons and simliar effects is that when you go in with a pre ordained build its not like roguelike games where within the run your improvising a build together because you are basically are just forced to pick which one actually somewhat functions with your build.
This would be incredibly fun, and a nice way of testing build-crafing capability. But I really doubt this would ever go over well with the vast majority of the playerbase.
@@cerulean5032 ya sadly you are probably right. it seems like the community likes the idea of rogue like or lite things but don't like it in practice. Wouldn’t mind seeing them for the 15th time if their character arcs didn’t consist of roughish outlaw and edgy Hive expert that only break their character types when it comes time to flirt with one another
Since they didn’t mention it at all. I’m assuming that we’re getting the same old little to no drops per run while not having crafting to compensate. The tonics being gone is a good thing. But would have loved it if they had addressed the problem of not having crafting for seasonal weapons: the fact that there isn’t enough drops. IMO the best part about crafting is that given the little amount of loot we get from the activities. It acts as a safety net for when the rng is just bad. At least some of them would be red boarders.
I hope we get the landing zone as one of the bubbles, solely because I want to know what happened to the Dantalion Exodus, and the last few cabal there
Same. I just really hope the Dreadnaught stays as a location, with the Nether remaining in the game as well. Perhaps they could bring back Shield Brothers. I wish lol.

@@SomeGuyWithTwoCats6066 I agree that unnecessary negativity is detrimental for the game, but the game has been slop for so long and it's genuinely dead now (historically low population count, even compared to D2 vanilla, like, LFG and matchmaking breaking level of lack-of-players) And what we need now is Bungie to hit rock bottom. If this Episode, the next DLC and Marathon fail, Bungie will realise that they need to actually treat destiny like a game and not an ATM. Which is the sole reason I wish they all fail miserably
Considering how the Final Shape Epilogue Animatic has been faithful to the Episodes' events so far, very sure that Xivu's gonna be the central enemy for Heresy. Feel like Oryx's return is tied to her. Would be cool to have all three Hive siblings in the story.
I like things that stay: -Episode 1 was mostly a let down, but I look forward to the 3 battlegrounds becoming GMs. They seem super hard and I can’t wait to suffer with my fireteam. -Episode 2 I’m happy to get 3 more maps and vampire themes for Onslaught (they better add them to the playlist after the year ends) and I did enjoy the Exotic mission. Echos exotic mission was too long and got really tiring to run through Hoping we get something that stays after the year ends with Episode 3
So we're totally okay with Savathun, Alak Hul, Cayde, Fikrul, Nokris, Tankis, Kelgorath, the Barons, and all the hive who we previously killed resurrected coming back from the dead but Oryx is where we draw the line and start bitching. Also we complain about returning to areas we haven't seen but still want Wrath of the Machine to return? Make it make sense.
It's clear that they're only bringing Oryx back for nostalgia, which granted, they did for Cayde, but they were able to send Cayde off really well, and with how these last 2 "episodes" have been, there's no faith that the end of Oryx's arc will have the same treatment.

I've gotten nothin' but toxic replies recently all because I've said something like this, just shows how immature most of the community is, it's just bitching, whining and complaining over anything Bungie throws and gives us. Honestly glad someone else has commented about this situation as well, been like this for a while now and I thought I was the only one being optimistic a little outside my clan tbh. I honestly think half of those people who bitch and moan were the most toxic pieces of shit in the game, those that would kick you out from a raid or dungeon before you can get the loot from the final encounter.
No which side are you on? Because we have people constantly whining hoping the game will change which it won't and they can't understand that for somw reason, but then we also have people "whining" when in reality they're trying to get others to move on from the game. Honestly if you ask me the players that continue to play the game so Datto and others are the real cry babies here because they're afraid to actually try something new because "oh no my channel" or "oh no there's nothing else out there like destiny" when you know there is you're just too afraid to actually experience something new.

To my mind, they have revived and revamped a certain skull from Halo into the patrol. You have to break pots to get health back ?? In Halo theres a skull where you have to melee to get both health ans shields back if at any point you take damage. That's the first thing I compared that too Edit; Black Eye skull, I knew what it was called, the name of which wasn't on the brain 😅
I don't get the complaints about Oryx being back, its clear hes not back for real, more as a ghost form or something like Riven was in Wish, its already been well established since even as far back as D1 that no death is truly forever, even as far back as D1 characters like Kinox were practicing necromancy establishing that reviving dead hive is possible, just hearsay, and would you look at the name of the episode?
I think it has less to do with making logical sense in universe and more people are just sick of Bungie relying on the old guard of characters to try to sell D2 instead of making new cool enemies to deal with. We've seen what happens when they do, we get villains like Eremis and the Witness and on the occasion a good villain like Savathun. Oryx is a popular and well remembered villain, so just bring him back in some capacity, why not. Bungie's really been relying on past nostalgia for a while now and I think people are just getting a bit tired of it. While I genuinely liked Oryx from D1, he's a villain who honestly deserves to have an entire expansion based around his return rather than just being a lil side character in a seasonal story noone's gonna really give 2 craps about.
Hopefully there's some permanent boons tied to story progress that reduces and eventually eliminates the changes to health and healing effects as we progress through each act. I get the feeling that it will be a nice gimmick at first to give the space a novel, challenging experience but I think most people will quickly get tired of it feeling so different than the rest of the game and pushing them to play differently/more carefully that it will eventually end up being criticized like Neomuna... I always thought they should've reduced the difficulty scaling of the Neomuna to match other patrol spaces after completing the Lightfall campaign.
I just can’t wait to put my medic build to the test. If the sources of healing are diminished then I finally have a challenge keeping people alive and topped off outside of GM’s

I hate corporate Bungie as much as the next guy, and you're more than valid to point out the stiffness of these livestreams, but I don't think make any sense at all to say that the devs don't care. They just aren't allowed to express that care outside of tweets on their personal accounts.

I think the season looks pretty solid so far, especially with the Arc update, and especially for the Warlock Aspect. Really like the new exotics and the Strand Support Frame Auto. Though, I wish showcased the new aggressive Fusion Rifle rework. Being able to pull Adepts from the seasonal activity is such a fire decision imo, and makes the grind feel worth it for more dedicated players. However, the Destiny community is insufferable like always, and they'll probably cry and moan over the seasonal weapons not being craftable(ironic, because they removed seasonal crafting because it was a huge point of complaint), or the new Aspects or exotics not being able to one-shot raid bosses, or how everything in the game that has ever existed is a "reskin". I'm just so done with the community man. Having to be part of this cesspool of negativity is awful.
if you looked at the twitch chat while they were streaming it was moaning about guns not being craftable. But the activity looks fire and I really like the rogue-lite system they put in activities
Whilst i agree there are always going to be people ragging just for the sake of it, what saddens me about the state of the game is the star wars collab after all the layoffs at bungie, like they can afford to do that but not pay their staff a salary to work on the game or invest that money into innovation and actually create new things, like the star wars skins despite being a fun surprise, are going to be over priced and will 100% not work aesthetically with exotic armour. The activities introduced people will be bored of after a week or 2, Like i watched aztecross’ stream and the most hype his chat were for the star wars skins, all of that just feels off to me thats where the priority seems to have been shifted too. I dont know maybe im overthinking this, it just doesnt seem right
That negativity didn't just happen for no reason... if you're happy with the work they've been doing, keep eating their slop. The rest of us will complain and criticize until the game changes or dies.
@@fearedbeard7710 Bro, just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's "slop". I've seen that word thrown around everywhere like brainrot. It's no secret that Destiny is in a bad spot, but there's a difference between good critcism and bad. And there's a lot of meaningless and bad criticism, and lots hypocrisy in the community. There's rarely good takes on how to actually improve the game in this community if we're being real. A golden example of is when they revealed the Star Wars Collab. Suddenly... people wanted to spend money. On content worth nearly six times more money collectively than this Episode alone. Yeah, we sure showed Bungie what we truly care about, we're lettin em know all right. The game will totally change if we boycott ingame content but spend money in Eververse on $20 cosmetics You cannot convince me that the community hasn't had it's hand in this game's downfall. I am not entirely blaming the players, it's ultimately upper management who've broken the game. But the loud majority of the community is not in anyway helping the situation, nor are they providing useful criticism other than "game ded", "Lazy", "recycled", "L", "nothing will bring me back", "mid", etc. What if we talked about removing most powercaps in the game, to make power actually worthwhile? What if we talked more about the rebalancing of the sandbox and especially Prismatic? What if we talked more about what works and what doesn't work in Season/Episodes instead of worrying about how one of the seasonal weapons looks just slightly too similar to something else in game because Bungie had the gaul to use ingame assets that work to save more time for the annual expansions. Why do you think Bungie doesn't interact with this community as much as they used to? Do you remember the death threats to devs over not bringing Twilight Garrison into the game? I can go on all day.
I think Devour and Restoration will be are favourite friends when we are on the dreadnought now.... I wonder if Bungie has a surprise for us i wonder if Kings Fall will be affected by these health modifiers put in place on the dreadnought because after all King's Fall Takes place on The Dreadnought, i think it would be kinda cool having the raid take on these modifiers.

The reason why this season felt so bad with the weapons is that seasonal weapons have 7 perks in both the 3rd and 4th column, so you had a 1/49 chance to get a 2/5 roll on a weapon, something very abysmal for seasonal weapons.

one thing that I think bungie could experiment with is a rogue like gamemode similar to what vermintide 2 has. vermintide 2 is also a looter game with weapons that have essentially the same perk system that destiny has. vermintide 2's rogue like gamemode forces the player to only be able to choose base white rarity weapons to start and then as you go through the levels you gain currency that lets you buy weapon upgrades so that by the end of the run if you have made it to the final level you essentially will have the equivalent of exotic tier items equipped and you earn rewards that help with the progression outside that gamemode. having this style of mode in destiny i think would be really fun because you would be able to put together a build with the gear you find and actually be able to feel the power of your selected upgrades. maybe this kind of thing could happen after the armor rework because the most complex thing to get right about a build in destiny is finding armor. the frontier armor looking way simpler would definitely help this kind of mode work better.
i think people would explode if they couldn't bring their invincible build and op guns in an activity
The Nether looks like they mashed Riven’s Lair together with Nightmare Containment
I hope we get the landing zone as one of the bubbles, solely because I want to know what happened to the Dantalion Exodus, and the last few cabal there

My biggest gripe is wtf are new players supposed to latch onto these past seasons...With so much missing content we hardly have any connections to Fikrul or Sundaresh so their appearance and moments were really empty (exception being the video logs of Sundaresh) and with Oryx being back alive AGAIN like hes Tanik v2.0 i just groan. Echoes fanned out and could of found anyone and started stories of new Villans or organizations so why not take that approach?! Sundaresh would have been a great one if her motivations weren't so shallow...

@adam5599 You say that, and there's still people playing it, not exactly dead to me. Hell, I'm thinking on coming back to check out what Heresy has to offer
Unfortunately when I game wrongs it’s community in any fashion that just heavily effects how the community takes things, even after things change for the better, just look at No Man’s Sky (destiny is nowhere near improving that much but still)
@@SomeGuyWithTwoCats6066 I agree that unnecessary negativity is detrimental for the game, but the game has been slop for so long and it's genuinely dead now (historically low population count, even compared to D2 vanilla, like, LFG and matchmaking breaking level of lack-of-players)
And what we need now is Bungie to hit rock bottom.

Fikrul, Cayde, and Savathun have excuses, Kel and Taniks are memes, but I see your point

To my mind, they have revived and revamped a certain skull from Halo into the patrol. You have to break pots to get health back ??
In Halo theres a skull where you have to melee to get both health ans shields back if at any point you take damage.
That's the first thing I compared that too
Edit; Black Eye skull, I knew what it was called, the name of which wasn't on the brain 😅
That’s the Black Eye Skull.
I hope you guys enjoyed my recap and reactions to the episode 3 reveal
Star Wars collab is cause that Sony money
Yeah cuz Star Wars is sooooo popular right now.
No more forced pinnacles levels :(
I want to play but the pinnacle level with the crap system makes me wanna die…
We are literally unkillable right now so the health regen might be a good test to see how to bring some difficulty back.
I think it's a pretty good way to do the dreadnaught, given what they have to work with.
The Star Wars collab is gonna pay for Frontiers...
I hope they decide to keep the dreadnought as a location (and the activity) after the episode ends. even if it takes time compared to there original plans for it.
It looks like the Adept weapons have the kings fall origin trait while the regular ones don’t.

You cannot convince me that the community hasn't had it's hand in this game's downfall.
