Man I miss when Paper Mario was allowed to have unique character designs and fun team mates. You can only push the wonder of paper aesthetic so far when the game world is only populated by default toads and koopas
Disappointed there aren't any scenes of TEC and Peach, those were always my favorite parts of the game, and pretty funny in the Grumps videos. I went through their videos to find those scenes and note them for anyone wondering: parts 21, end of 22, end of 37, 38, beginning of 39, end of 58, 59, beginning of 60, 71, 87, 101, 102, 118, end of 131.
The grump's commentary and voice acting on this series are some of the funniest they've ever done, which is why I love this playthrough. But as someone who's played this game a number of times, it is SO PAINFUL to watch them play this game. Their battle strategies/puzzle solving make me want to scream at my tv sometimes.
Hearing Arin say the name “Ben Quadrinero” from Star Wars Episode I makes life better on its own but him adding the word “podracer” makes it even more delightful.
It amuses me how how unblissfully ignorant the both of them remained to the game's most basic mechanics for the entire playthrough. They were able to brute force all the way up until the shadow queen and then wondered why the game was suddenly so hard....and instead of maybe wondering what they didn't understand, they shunned the well-constructed guides, complained, and eventually just brute forced the shadow queen too! XD classic game grumps! It's a worthwhile sacrifice for the classic bits such as the Frankly voice, the meltdowns, and the Mario profanity and perversion XD A+
i love this playthrough and even more so the game itself but dude, you did such an amazing job! the sped up part and skipping the enemy battles, while keeping the funny banter intact! :D they should hire you for their channel. Thank you for your hard work!
Call me a heretic, cuz I don't like the virus bit. Cuz look, they take this sad, bittersweet moment of Bobbery reading Scarlette's final letter, and they turn it into this hodgepodge of insanity about Podley having the virus and Bobbery having the urge to goon.

But also, some of game grumps' best bits included doing that. Ignoring the story of the e-100 series and just saying "silly robot voice go" in sonic, fucking everything in DG, beating eachother up while trying to catch shield knight. Just how I see it though.
Watching this back after this long makes me realize that their main issue was that they would just go based off their first assumption being correct and then get annoyed when the game required something else that didn't follow whatever logic they came up with to explain their guess. Dan would try like two different things for a puzzle before saying he has no idea what to do and Arin would suggest things that are either a classic videogame trope that hasn't been around in decades since its been overused so much or something that no game has ever once tried to implement as a mechanic and they would only change what they were doing after looking it up. Glad they ended up enjoying it at least a little bit in the end though
This was MUCH more enjoyable to watch than the original uploads. So much of the original was Dan and Arin reading something, immediately forgetting it, and then wondering aloud how in the world to do the simplest of tasks. Thank you! ^_^

You cannot damage the demons second form until they all send you their power. You will know when. Keep tabs on the damage even though there is a badge for that and one of your characters can tattle how much health any enemy has
I don't usually mind them not being good at videogames. I love the show for them. But this one...... It's kinda infuriating to see how Dan was actually pretty good at the beggining and progressively became worse up until the very end. I love em tho
so funny how Dan says "it's just like a jewish name" because there is a german word in the name Petalburg. I wonder wether he even knows the words he knows as jewish are often actually just German :D
I am sad that you cut out the parts with peach but then again considering it's 6 hours long as it is with fast forwards I'm impressed and also it's sad some of the funniest parts of the part of Luigi where he appears in the game and they make fun of him but again 6 hours with what you have and pretty much all the other best parts is amazing

So the reason people where able to figure out is because Goombella acts as a hint mechanic when used in the field.
