"comprehensive" doesn't actually include anything about any setup or specific settings used to print ASA, no discussion about build plates aside from what can be seen in slicer section, glue used, type of glue, fan settings, temp settings, speeds......nada
Yeah i am kind of surprised too. I came for nice juicy details from someone whos printed with all materials but got less than what's available on the asa packaging short descriptions.
Just reading info like this straight from wikis is kinda better to do directly from the wiki because we can look around and click what we want. What we want is the meat and potatoes. What you have learned. What mistakes you made. What people usually do wrong. How in detials you should print with it.
How come there are no discussions on the settings in a video about printing ASA?
Just wanted to say thanks for the 10mins saved, just skipped the vid
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah lmao teeeheeeeee poooooooopppyyyy
So for anyone wondering, my print settings for the X1 are no fans on at all for the entire print, bed temp is 90-100°. I print fairly large objects and this has reduced/ stopped warping on large prints. I also tape around the edges of the glass door to prevent heat from escaping. Asa needs to be hot!
does that include turning off the parts fan?
A Comprehensive Guide might include what settings did you use on the Bambu x1c.
The RFID on the roll tells the software what type of filament it is and does the settings. I should have mentioned that.
Love the videos, very useful but I have to agree with AJ on this in that the title doesn't fit. A useful video in that it explains ASA but not much guidance on printing with it. Load and hit print?
I was hoping for info on how to deal with shrinkage, layer separation, and common ASA (ABS) printing problems.
Great vid, I have printed a couple of small things on my ender3 with ASA and had good luck, but anything of any size doesn't work well as I don't have an enclosure. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for watching!
What about the cooling settings ? Did you accept the defaults 10% min , 80% max ? Aux fan off ? What where you chamber temperatures ? This is a bad omission for a tutorial for product known to warp. Your environment cam make a significant difference to the chamber temperatures you can reach
Len you look like your high as kite in this video lol but good review
asa
Thanks for the guides, Len!
Glad you like them!
Is the carbon filter in the Bambu P1S enough for fumes? Or would I need to vent it to the outdoors somehow?
Len, I love the videos and this series! There's so many filaments out there to try out especially now that I have an X1C. After all of your testing, what filament would you recommend for printing blocks to raise a desk up a few inches? It would need to support some weight as the desk is a decent size.
PC, ASA or ABS
Great advice. Thanks for your channel.
Glad it was helpful!
what advice?
How do you keep all those colors available in the slicer? Is there a video on that? Thanks, i have learned allot from you, just started watching the other day and subscribed
2 ams units ?
Do you recommend a brand of ASA? I've never used it before. I need bright neon colors for my project. Bambu doesn't have bright colors of ASA.
I thought that ASA is notorious for not sticking to the plate. Is that so and how to prepare?
great video! I just started using ASA and ABS and my prints will begin to lift up on the corners about a few hours into the process. Do you have any suggestions? Thx

Hi, I'm new to printing and I'll be printing something with ASA, do I need to dry the filament before the print if the filament comes in new in the vacuum sealed bag or when do I know I need to dry any filament?
Follow the manufacturers recommendation. It should be somewhere on their website. Usually on the filament page. What brand are you using?
@@lendizzle77 thanks for the reply! I have an X1-Carbon and I'm using BambuLab's ASA filament
@virtualnk5825 80c for 8 hours.
After drying how long before you redry again can you store in a dry box
It depends on how humid it is. ASA absorbs the moisture in the air so the more moisture there is, the more often you will need to dry
@@lendizzle77 so a dry box will help at 10% humidity
Yes.
Thank you for the video. What brand of asa are you using for an x1c?
Bambu lab
I’ve had great luck with Flashforge ASA in my X1C
sorry bro but where is the guide? You talked a lot and just said that you successfully printed ASA. What about the #1 problem with printing ASA, warping, people came here for probably? thumbs down.
hows the warping
no warping as of now
interesting vid but man something needs to change about the camera focus on the printed parts....
PC is on my list... seems to ""best""
how rigid is it compared to other filaments? does it take paint well? what chemichals should be avoided when using it? this video kinda feels like youre just giving information that bambu has in thier product description and not testing anything. like yes, of course it will do multifilament, but will the filament adhere well to eachother? its a stretch to call this comprehensive, and outrageous to consider calling it detailed like in the description.
What part of this video is a comprehensive guide for ASA? You just explain what the material is and what it's used for, but you don't even mention what settings you've tried and are now using.
Agree. I only got whats on the packaging from the video. Zero experiencebased review of material and settings. Issues experienced etc.
You smokin’ that dank stuff
He's huffing the ASA fumes
Absolutely useless, thanks.
How is this a "Comprehensive Guide" if it doesn't include ANYTHING specific to the material??
