What I have encountered is customers willing to pay to get a surveillance camera system setup but no willingness to pay reoccurring fees for anything. For me it always been a one time opportunity to make some money but after the system is setup and the client have access to it, that’s all

@@user-jd6zl8ts8v in many cases this is definitely true. There are definitely still customers that appreciate having the ability to access their data and make sure it’s stored in the cloud. It’s just finding those customers.

Would you be doing the cabling for the video surveillance? Cabling gets into an entirely different element regarding liability/insurance / bonds, etc. Also, for video surveillance installation & support, Would that be a different Billable rate situation. Charge less per hour to take care of phone support / on-site support, like instead of 120/hr. for computer services, would you go like $80/hr. for the surveillance rate?

Great question. So if you're not familiar with running cabling then I would sub that out. Otherwise it would be the same rate as computer services for managing the system. Once they are onboarded to the system its SUPER low maintenance and you could charge it as a computer or two per month.

Would you as an MSP do the equipment install or is it a matter of contracting another company to do the actual equipment setup? I can see advantages both ways.

If you're comfortable with it I would 100% do that. If you aren't sub it out and then you manage it as part of their infrastructure.

@@growthgenerators I did a little research in my state (Illinois) and they require individuals or companies installing surveillance cameras to be licensed and you can't get a license without meeting a lot of criteria. Illinois sucks.
