- 6th Orders are known to be windy, but this one being tuned to 19hz in the rear allows it to be wicked low for Demos. Does 157Dbs while doing great demos!

@@JacobViral I didn't catch front port tuning. If rear was so low (19hz) and front is tuned an octave higher (38/40hz), can he play midbass at all? How musical was this set up with that low of tuning?
@@robwithrbk the subs did very well from 45hx and down but had a major slope above that

Always wonder how they figure out the tuning of the top chamber, with the port being totally different than an aero or slot port. It's like a side of the box is missing. I guess that's why 6th orders can be so hard to get right.

I've been wanting to see the skar txl subs in action for years! Nobody is ever running them though. Until now! Sweet
BaSsAholiC the entire line was known to have defective leads and after Skar sold them all off and got their money out of everybody they discontinued the line. This guy hasn’t been playing this system for long because there is no way these subs can take that much power without those leads burning up.
Oh damn really? So those subs are the line from skar I kept hearing about how it's junk and screw skar audio and all that? No shit? They look beefy as fuck though. I was torn between the txl and zvx 15's... so, I bought a HCCA 😂
BaSsAholiC I’ve owned 2 Skar txl’s and I’ve been buying motors for cheap off people sense they keep breaking and I’m planning on building them and running 4. They were monster subs while they lasted but your hcca was the better choice between the three.
Cody Thomas right on man. I would think building those txl motors with some psi soft parts would be badass. I definitely like my hcca sub, but the sub I was running before it I'm still in love with. The massive audio hippo xl 152 was one hell of a sub. I still have it in mint condition too. I actually was wanting to just buy a second hippo when I ended up getting my hcca sub. But the price on the hippos sky rocketed to like over 700 bucks each at the time. So instead I picked between the skar and Orion. Sometimes I think back and wonder if I should have bought 2 zvx 15's instead of 1 hcca. When spending over 1000 bucks at once, what's another couple hundred ya know? I was spending tons of money on car audio at that time. I got over excited and I didn't really plan or budget as well as I could have lol. But I'm happy with my set up regardless. Just need a new box. I want the low lows. Lowest I can hit decently is 29hz
I have no idea why skar stopped producing these subs. A friend of mine had 1 of these txl 15" before he moved away. From my house to the top of the subdivision is about a mile away. And the roof on our garage was vibrating. N only got louder as he came down the hill.
Loud sub but bad design imo. They didnt have that much xmax and there were problems with the leads snapping. Couldve been fixed with a basket change and larger spider. We actually took the motor from the 10inch txl and put it on a 12 inch ti basket. Its a nasty sub now and we don't have the problems from leads breaking under excursion
They stopped making them because they were too reliable?

LooseCannon48 didn’t have that much/enough Xmax? They were Xmax rated at 55 and had a 3.5 inch VC lol that’s a lot man so I definitely can’t agree with you on that comment

So Jacob I'm about to get 4 sp4 plus series subwoofer's. I want to do a 6th order but all I want is lows! What should I tune to the rear to and the front to(I just want to murder the lows)! Thanks! For only lows 20 and 40, but most do 25 and 50hz for bandwidth. Trial and error to your liking as testing is required really. Go with 15s for cone area if you have the space. You're welcome goodluck awesome switch!
Good idea for conserving space with the batt's with them on their edge but is it okay to do that with agm's. If so, i am going to do that as well. Thanks.

What is “unloading” ?? Never heard that term before in bass builds !
Unloading means when the subwoofers are playing outside their mechanical limits or to far outside of tuning range. The reason people put a window up is to contain more pressure inside the vehicle to allow to play at a lower frequency so it won't *Unload* AKA bottom out as easily. Thanks for watching Flappy! Interesting how the basket and motor have a gap. I've never seen subs built that way. How does that work?

Divide the 2 and that’s your ratio. Looks like 2.1:1

Hey Josh, it means the subs won't play the lows nearly as well with both doors open and it contains the pressure in the cabin ALOT Better with one door and window up for the super lows like he was playing. Thanks for watching and being a subscriber!

Newb question what does it take to get them that windy I notice some are louder but not as windy some hit lower but still not that windy
Usually low tuning ported/6th order enclosures make more windy outputs such as this one. What you can tell for the tuning is simplest terms is how big the back port is or how big the port in general for any enclosure is as well as the port length with space used for the tuning of an enclosure. This is just a VERY LOW TUNED 6th order that is made for lows and not play above 40hz well.
What's the front tuning ?
I recall he had it around 36-38hz
