There were a lot of shocking moments of Season one of Squid Game and it was hard to decide which ones to include (let alone rank).... so I'm sure there's plenty of disagreement. Where do you all think I got it wrong (or got it right)? What incidents or moments shocked you that I missed? (maybe I'll make a Part 2). Let's hear it in the comments....

Okay, let's hear it. These, of course, are just my personal Top 10 shocking moments.... I'm sure there's lots of disagreements (and maybe some agreements?), so sound off. Any moments that you think I missed? What was your personal #1 shocking moment?

I wish there's a list of players who blamed Mai after the glass bridge, selectively forgot that it is Ashley (278) who actually pushed Trey (301) to elimination.
Anyone could’ve stepped up but people stayed silent because some of them wouldn’t have had to make choices at all since there were more people than tiles. Trey made a choice to make more jumps (which I respect)
But just because she didn’t go when everyone wanted her to, doesn’t erase the fact that she eventually DID make a choice. Mai and others never had to (except for the two people she gave tiles to because they asked)
@@klarfaerie Nah. Whats scummy about her is she says she never agreed to everyone only taking 1 turn each for a 50/50 chance, but then makes a complete 180 after she took her chance. The ONLY reason she took a chance is purely out of fear of getting ganged up on later if she didnt take her turn after what Trey did.
@@allarian8726 she actually had a deal with Purna that she’d go before him and he’d go after since they both gave each other low numbers. I think she would’ve stuck with the plan if everyone in front didn’t get eliminated. As for the whole Trey thing, Trey jumped before anyone could do anything. Chad and Trey both have interviews on UA-cam that talks more in depth about it.

Lorenzo didn’t get eliminated over apples. It was because he had a bad attitude. The Apple situation just revealed it.

Yeah, I showed the whole thing with stealing food in a previous video dedicated to Lorenzo (and also Jada for being a hypocritical hamburglar)
Yes, you're exactly right -- he was a rude asshole and it wasn't really "because of apples". But it's just hilarious to me that he only got eliminated in that specific vote just because he didn't shut up about not wanting the apples!

I was shocked that Ashey called Mai's friend getting eliminated karma for Mai trying to get Ashley eliminated when Mai targeting Ashley in the first place was Mai trying to serve some karma for the bull that Ashey had pulled earlier.
The audacity of 278 to refuse to pass Trey then immediately expect the next person to pass her and take a risk pissed me off.
161 made me feel a hatred I haven't felt in years

Player 232: Was also an unfortunate loss.
Player 198: Got eliminated for getting too greedy
Player 161: Was very annoying and his attitude got him eliminated. Glad he was gone.
Player 432: Too confident, arrogant, but also fun to watch. He underestimated to “weaker” team
Player 301: Was too passive and should stand stood up for himself. I was upset to see him get fooled.
Player 278: The most hated player, she was so selfish and a hypocrite.
Player 287: Is great for being to only one to call out Ashley for being a hypocrite.
I agree with all of this. I have a feeling most people don’t remember the #s though:
200 the first guy to get eliminated in the first elimination vote (by the two in the kitchen)
232 Rick, the older dude in the gganbu gang that got eliminated by Phillasia
198 the dude who picked up the phone twice
161 Lorenzo the anti-apple Italian
432 Bryton “The One” Constantine
301 Trey (teamed with his mom)
278 Ashley who refused to overtake Trey but insisted others overtake her , then claimed to be a team player.
287 Mai who called out Ashely’s shit
I’m just glad Ashley didn’t win. It’s annoying enough that she didn’t take one for the team, but it is even more annoying seeing her facial expressions. Girl, can you not?
It angers me that people just forget she did that in the next round and blame Mai

He was not the smartest player at all. He should have known there could have been a risk to be eliminated but he went ahead and got the phone TWICE!
Yeah he was dumb. I knew the 2nd call was for his elimination. He should’ve just said “since I won once, they what a new player so 1st player to get the phone gets the new prize.” Even if succeeds in suckering another player, he would be on the chopping block next for his deceitful deed. He would be targeted for elimination.

Easily the most shocking moment was everyone’s amnesia of what Assley did to Trey. They were even talking about it amongst themselves and yet they forget once they get to the dorm!
The marbles was nowhere near a surprise. As soon as they said partner up for the picnic, I knew it was marbles. Once it was revealed, I was sad for the mother & son. This was bound to happen either to them or Old Guy Rick with Mullet Head Stephen. It was sad, but not even close to shocking.
229 eliminating 2 of the coolest people in the game pisses me off. Like for what reason do you eliminate them for? No wonder people like 278 and 229 never win
Lol when Ashley 278 refused to move reminded me of the squid game scene where the crazy girl grab the dude and slam them both onto the glass so they both fell. Was hoping for that to happen too but…
198 had the worst Poker face , he could’ve pretended that he was talking about someone there so they would feel the need to pick up the phone. I would’ve just told 432 that a player selected him for either award or elimination then he would’ve had no choice but to pick up the phone to learn more
Totally. He panicked and couldn’t think straight but you’re right- basically any other play would’ve been better than a long pause with a panicked look and then asking the one dude who he’s beefing with to pick up the phone (which then made it almost impossible to convince anyone else). Anything else would’ve been better , like “hey guys, we need 5 people to answer some trivia questions correctly within 2 minutes and the whole dorm gets pizza, let’s go! Who’s good at trivia?” (50 people rush to the phone)☎️
Or he could might’ve been able to eliminate 432 if he said “I now have the power to select one player to answer a challenge question or be eliminated. I select #432. Step right up, you have 2 minutes or you’re out.”
My instant thought when watching was to act like it was some sort of riddle that you had to solve and say something like "is anyone here really smart and good with riddles?"
Would definitely get one of the more egotistical ones.

Everyone talks about how bad 278 was for the bridge incident, people forget how bad 229 was voting out that old man and she shortly got voted out afterwards
This is quite a masterpiece when you look back at the episodes especially being eliminated thanks to apples is such a sad way to leave the show
I forgot about Papa Rick elim 😭 he was too sweet.
It was a great move to take him out though, he was clearly good at games and likely would’ve won marbles and he would’ve likely passed glass bridge due to how likeable he was, I doubt anyone would’ve targeted him from that point onward so he had a really good chance of winning, plus he was the leader of a big male alliance so it was smart to get him out
Best TV moment of 2023: Back-stabbing, gaslighting, anti-social, narcisistic Ashley got kicked out. LOOOOOOOL!!

I know a lot of people hated her for eliminating 243 and 232 but I was so proud of Phalisia for breaking up that alliance and it was a really good strategic move to take out two likeable people who were leading a lot of players
