    King Leonidas was the kind of leader that you can count on. The kind of man that will fight through the end. Spartans was the badass warriors there ever was. Persia might’ve won the battle but Spartans had the heart of the warriors. No one can fight like Spartans. I’ve watched 300: Spartans so many times n I still enjoy it n cried. Thanks 😊

      heroic yes , brilliant I think not, Alexander the great was brilliant, a brilliant strategic military leader yet even he died very young at 30 but definitely did more than Leonidas ever did...

    Excellent documentary!!! And in my humble opinion, King Leonidas was a man of his time. So firmly believing in his culture and standing that he fought for bravely, to his ultimate death! To say he was a courageous man, would be an absolute "understatement"...

    “Four thousand years of Greek history have produced four Greek heritages, each of which has had an effect on the life of the Greeks in later stages of their history.
    The Hellenic Greeks received a heritage from the Mycenean Greeks, the Byzantine Greeks received one from the Hellenic Greeks, the Modern Greeks have received one heritage from the Byzantines and a second from the Hellenes.”
    From the notable work of Arnold Toynbee, prominent English historian; “The Greeks and Their Heritages”, Oxford University Press.

    00:58 Imagine standing in front of an enemy so vast that their arrows blot out the sun. And what does Leonidas say? 'Then we shall fight in the shade.' The courage, the audacity! This line alone tells you everything about the spirit of the Spartans. Absolutely spine-tingling.

      The Spartan soldier Dienekes said, "Good, then we shall have our battle in the shade". He said this after being told that the Persian archers' arrows would block out the sun before the Battle of Thermopylae.

    • @Athleo1966
      @Athleo1966 6 днів тому

      ... the Spartan Dienekes is said to have proved himself the best man of all, the same who, as they report, uttered this saying before they engaged battle with the Medes:- being informed by one of the men of Trachis that when the Barbarians discharged their arrows they obscured the light of the sun by the multitude of the arrows, so great was the number of their host, he was not dismayed by this, but making small account of the number of the Medes, he said that their guest from Trachis brought them very good news, for if the Medes obscured the light of the sun, the battle against them would be in the shade and not in the sun.

    What you are presenting on this map nothing sound like Greek, the names written of the places don't even present anything Greek, Explain, what Greece has to do in this period of time, Absolutely nothing didn't exist to be mentioned, if you want to talk about Greece start from 1832 AD, then not even a Greek person ruled Greece, here is a prove!
    Greece: (OTTO THE FIRST AND THE ONLY ONE KING OF GREECE. German Bavarian: Otto Fredrich Ludwig von Bayern, 1 June 1815 AD - 26 July 1867 AD) was a first Bavarian Prince as a King who Ruled Greece from the establishment of the monarchy on 27 May 1832 AD, under the Convention of London, until he was deposed on 23 October 1862 AD. Prove me if I’m wrong.
