It's funny, I just switched to Gboard today. Just switched from pixel 6 pro, and the experience with Gboard is incomparable to Samsung's own. But the fact that I'm bilingual and Gboard allows me to use both languages without having to choose specific language when typing, like Samsung's board.
Definitely a huge advantage!

I have a 6 pro and then got an s22 ultra and what a huge mistake because the jitter and jank all over the UI is unacceptable for a phone over $1000

Hi and tfs !! I see the number row across the top of my keyboard; but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to have the number pad instead? On my Motorola Moto G Stylus, in the lower left corner of the keyboard, there's a "?123" and when I click it, beside the space bar there's a "1234" where I can access a numeric keypad that makes it easier and quicker to key in numeric text. Does the Ultra 22 have this option because I can't seem to find a setting for it. Thanks.

I just wish there was a way to change the keyboard click sound for gboard. I like to hear the key press but for gboard I have to turn it off because it's too loud (even when turning the sound down in settings).

The Gboard keyboard is really cool as well. I use Gboard, and the Samsung keyboard. I also use swiftkey sometimes. A great video brother. Stay safe.

EDIT: nevermind figured it out. It's the "Show button to hide keyboard" option in Samsung settings.
How do you have that bottom layer on your keyboard? Everytime I use the gesture swipe to go back it either presses the . or enter key which is infuriating. Didn't have this problem on the S9.
Great video Jeff I used myself the Gbord too I do like it better special when I talk and text Google understand me better than Samsung I do have some accent because I'm from Italy also I like the number road on the top two !!
Yeah I think Google is much better at voice to text as well as glide typing correction.

I like the GBoard but it won't slide the curser on the space bar like the Samsung keyboard does on my S22 Ultra.
I'm using Samsung Messenging w/ the GBoard because I can really customize my contacts, the contact background, etc. It came pre-installed on my S22 Ultra & Note 10+.
I haven't figured out if Google Messenging will let you customize contact background/ wallpaper like Samsung does.
I know Google is a better messaging app but I like that Customization that Samsung offers 🤟
The great thing about Android is that you can't go wrong with so many great options.

My gboard on my S22 glitches on glide typing. It worked perfect on my pixel 5. It spits out random works as I go instead of what I'm used to. Any ideas?
The only dealbreaker for me is Samsung Pass. I use it a lot for my passwords and the integration that it has with Samsung Keyboard is priceless.
I use the gboard always because the voice to text is better and the exclamation point is where I need it to be lol

I tried gboard but when I was texting in a group conversation it started sending my responses to individual threads of the people in the group and they stopped appearing in the group thread. I Uninstalled and went back to Samsung messages.
Weird , gboard and swift key are not showing up under general management after I installed both. Only the samsung keyboard is listed...

Just received my S22 yesterday, and every time I tried to add gboard & it's never available in the input part that shows either Samsung's keyboard or gboard. Gboard is still not showing up. Anyone have any idea what I'm not doing properly... preciate any answers. I'm fairly savvy with cell phones FWIW. And have tried everything I know
Under the "Keyboard List and Default" settings, make sure the option for Gboard Multilingual Typing is selected to blue. It will request a permission. After that, it should be available to change as the default keyboard. I had the same issue.

If you go into the recent apps view and tap the icon it will offer you the option to open it as a floating window.

It's an awesome keyboard....it understands Maltese lol....some people text me in our mother tongue and dang it spells better than i do lol Maltese is a tough language.
It's an amazing keyboard with a lot of functionality.
Recently samsung made it impossible, no matter what i can't get gbord to pop up, i have it installed and it still doesn't work, ive even tried multiple times. Like samsung has been getting worse, and so being stuck like this stinks. Im not sure if you could provide any information to help, but it would be appreciated.

Ive notived it doesnt do grammar (red / blue) underlines via bboard on s22U.
Unless I'm missing something? It's so annoying. It worked on my other phones but never Samsung.
