      You must be joking mate: "Protonmail"! Protonmail is by CERN SwiSSyland, which is like taking a secret SwiSS bank account, and while it's secret and nobody knows except them and you, they have a good option for the most perfect crime and kill you, which SwiSSy has already performed once during the Nazi era harvesting millions of SwiSS secret bank accounts of people, who had been processed through the Nazi concentration camps. Watch the 18 hour pentalogy "The Swiss Beast - Home of the Devil" on channel Giureh; but you must scroll down in the video section, because UA-cam/Google is hiding this series, as they don't want you to see it in order to keep up the Clean & Neutral SwiSSyland myth.

    Thank you so much I’ve been just stressed out about all the data leeks, Bluetooth, WiFi leaks. I’m a new developer, and really that’s all I want to think about. However using public WiFi, WAMP servers, Visual Basic….I feel like I’m placing my device at risk. I purchased an inexpensive computer just for coding but I still have to sign into my personal accounts. The classes I’ve been taking just don’t cover the networking security issues. This is getting overwhelming beyond belief. It makes me want to find a different “new”career.

    This is great! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking for secure email providers that gives you the ability to set up U2F. In your research do any of those 3 provide such functionality? Also did you look at other providers such as Fastmail and Hey?

      @AllThingsSecured  3 роки тому +4

      Protonmail works with U2F. See Yubikey as an example: www.yubico.com/works-with-yubikey/catalog/protonmail/
      As for Hey, that's not really a secure email provider, more of a "new email" type product. I'm not very familiar with Fastmail, so I'd have to look at that more.

    Thanks for the great work, I have found a new internet security guru in you! I have a question for you. On dual email philosophy where you use mail forwarding to forward all sensitive email communication (e.g. OTPs from banks, 2FA codes) from public email to the secure email, I like the convenience of looking at only the important emails. However, if the public email gets hacked, can't the hacker stop the mail forwarding to secure email and start getting the new OTPs, codes etc. How do we protect against that?

    Isn't a better solution to send any sensitive information to a secure server from which the recipient must sign up and also have an account to receive it? This would allow browser encryption to work end to end. Keep the email limited to non-sensitive communication, referring the recipient to the secure server when the need arises.

    I have been using Proton mail for almost two months and like the email and calendar functions. I have found that support is very slow - likely having a hard time with staffing.
    I have a concern with the contacts function on my android phone. My telephone app does not have access to Proton Contacts. So when I add a contact to Proton Contacts, my phone app can't see it and therefore will not display the callers name, etc. when they call. So I am having to maintain contacts in a separate application in parallel to Proton Contacts. Proton encrypts contacts and does not provide a sync function. Don't know if they ever will. So I am looking for another secure email/calendar/contacts app that will allow accessible contacts on my Android phone.
    Any options out there? FYI - I run a firewall program.

      Apple offers secure iCloud solutions, but their email isn't end-to-end encrypted either. I believe they also don't encrypt data stored on IMAP mail servers. It's great for everyday communication, but I would still recommend a secure email for banking, investments and secure communication.

    I wonder if you'd be kind enough to clarify something I don't understand?
    When you talk about forwarding mail from Gmail, or similar, to a more secure service surely that is bolting the stable door after the horse has gone isn't it?
    If it originally came into Gmail then it's already on their servers so the security/privacy has already gone. Have I missed something?
    I do like the idea of a secure email for certain things and non secure for day to day - thanks for that suggestion:)

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  2 роки тому

      It can go a couple different ways. The way I have it set up, my secure email send me a notification when a new email arrives (it doesn't forward the actual email, so the secure emails never hit Google servers). I have to log into my secure email, ProtonMail, to access those emails.
      The second way is to migrate completely over to a secure email address. And yes, in that case if you just set to "forward", all those forwarded Gmail emails will still be on Google's servers. You could set a filter that will forward and then delete all email coming in, but there's still risk.

      I’m sure there’s a way, but once you do that, you void any privacy benefits you get from a service like ProtonMail (or any privacy-focused email provider). Once you download your email onto your own computer and start using that as your primary email sending hub, all security and privacy is on your shoulders.

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  3 роки тому +2

      No need to apologize: good question. For me, the *only* place I use my secure email is with my bank, investment accounts and for any sensitive emails I need to send (such as one that has my social security number). If those are the only places I use it, there’s a low probability that it will be leaked. What’s more important, though, is if somebody were to gain access to my day-to-day email that is readily available, they won’t have instant access to my finances or secure communications. This is the more likely scenario.

On guard duty I just the other night opened my UA-cam and hit my personal info and found that my UA-cam someone changed where notifications were going and the UA-cam user name had ever so slightly at a quick glance I didn't notice. So honestly it could have been like that for months. So I'm going with Proton email, VPN, and mobile app. For veterans they give a reduction I think double check me but I think it works out to the second level is free. But after being hacked now with the UA-cam user name being changed. The real question is what is safe or what hasn't been hacked. For a 63 yr old guy I do t think as quickly as I once did so the thought of moving everything is overwhelming. Sounds like a new business line for someone to help set these up. But there again I wouldn't trust my own mom any more. So I hope that this book of a comment helps some.. DON'T put it off. It doesn't become easier just more mucked up. Thanks

    Have only just come across your channel, but found this episode very helpful 👍
    For many years (~20yrs) I have been using a duplicate domain for all signups (eg. Amazon@domain..., eBay@domain..., Netflix@domain...) together with a catchall email address.
    I then have a separate (private) email address for just family, close friends and more sensitive emails (financial, legal, medical etc.)
    This has worked well, and helped quickly identify some companies that have either been hacked or sold on my email to spammers.
    However in recent years, with tighter email authentication being introduced - I have found SENDING emails (using email aliases) increasingly difficult.
    Do you know of any company offering this sort of service?

    You have not mentioned Thunderbird? Is it not free? Is it not secure enough? Can anyone reply me?

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  2 роки тому

      Thunderbird is not an email provider, it's simply an email software. So it's completely different.

    Interdomain email is still being read by providers. If you want to be secure you gotta send proton to proton. Even then who knows about proton, what if its owned by CIA?!

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  2 роки тому

      Not quite. When sending an end-to-end encrypted email from something like Proton - even when sent to a Gmail address - it cannot be read by Google or Proton.

    No disrespect to anyone But My question who do use and trust that is the question everyone saids to use this one or that one you can see it all over UA-cam and they basically give their opions on the best email providers .that will protect you and your personal or business emails ... But you do not know personally what these people are doing behind the scences Just taking them at their words anyone can put or say anything on a sales page or in video .. ...until the rubber hits the road a matter of speaking Coz the way things are Now .. you do not know who to trust and if you tried one of them and get messed over then it is your fault for believing them ...would you not say?? Most of them are after conmissions
    Now it is over confusing coz if one is bad how do you know ? unless you try one them and if works for you stay with it ... One day there will be no options and basically all this happen coz of the stupid leader we have leading the country this is where the real blame is And we have to do everything we can to protect what we supposed to own But basically we do not own nothing We came in the world with nothing and we will leave with Nothing except what is in our Hearts
