There are too many other nice antennas out there to recommend just one. And “genuine” Nagoya antennas are good. This video just demonstrates that this one from Banggood is a fake!
Hi. Could you answer a question for me. I purchased a Diamond (NR-77os) antenna from Banggood and also, a magnetic base mount, NMO mount magnetic base for Bus,taxi, mobile radio. 5 meters RG-58 cable. Cable to radio connector is a PL-259. My question is, the outside diameter of the base magnet antenna where it screws on is app, 11/8 in diameter, the inside diameter of the antenna that screws onto this is app, 5/8 diameter. I ordered these thinking they would work, but is there an adaptor that I need to make them fit or do I have to order a different mag base? Thanks. David
450rhino1 the problem sounds like your trying to mount an antenna with an SO-239 to a mag mount with an NMO connector. As you have already guessed that won't work. Fortunately they do make an adapter for this.
CURIOUS to know how your match would be with that coil of coax stretched out? I do believe your results will change.
what other antenna magnetic mount would u recommend instead?

Thank you. I wasn't sure if i would just have to order a new base. I will look for that adaptor.:)
Have you adjusted the length for 2m? Sounds too long maybe...
I have tried adjusting the length of the antenna there is very little adjustment but it did not help at all.
