I am new to western riding and was wondering at what point you teach the horse to canter - trot transition instead of canter - stop, and how you teach them the difference between stop and just a transition to a lower gait? That's what I'm struggling with currently, my horse does really well in the transitions but not sure what aids to use to differentiate the stop and the lower gait.
