Got the pre-ordered book today, Oct 24! Thanks. One of the neat things is not needing to set up a board or an analysis board and play the moves out between diagrams of the board and comments where several moves take place between the diagrams. This new way of presenting the moves is refreshing.
Hey Gotham, really enjoy your channel and especially recently the focus on learning points like you do in this one with five things to learn. Imo it's the perfect blend of your sense of humor as well as chess knowledge rather than other (enjoyable) videos you make that are more on the side of humor
As an Australian, I hope to see your book teach me more about the Australian varient of chess. Where black goes first and we simp for the queen instead of the king.
Hi Levy from one of your U.K. subscribers. A great big thanks for the link to order your book from Waterstones. I love the layout, and the way you “write like you talk”. I agree it will become a classic text to learn and improve at Chess. I will be using it as a refresher to get me back in to Chess, and hopefully play competitively online for the first time! All my competitive chess was over the board at University in the 1980’s(yes I am one of you older listeners!lol). Awesome book! 👍 Great review of that Torch game too!

@6:29 the answer is, you only played a genius level move IF AND ONLY IF you played the correct follow up. No single move is good in chess, its about the artwork after it

I don't care about what the comment section says. Good or bad opinions. Levy has improved his content so much, in a great manner for my liking. The length of the video and the UFC-type commentary makes it more alive, like a chess game should be. Every chess game it's a tense battleground where two strategies collide and merge into each other. Great work Levy. Keep going, in a way you don't burn out, and we will keep watching you!

Chess but a pawn spawns every 4 moves. You start with no pawns. Players choose where it spawns and it can be any empty space in the closest 2 rows.

11:06 I must be missing something. But wasn't this free rook that white offered and was not taken by black (by either their own rook or bishop)?
It is a free rook, Gotham’s just trading the rooks off the board to show that the endgame will be drawn if white trades off pieces
Oh wait... this move was actually not played by bot, but just used to demonstrate trade one move later (while ignoring that it was a free rook).
