This song helps me feel how much I love my dad, yet I still wish we were closer and had a better relationship.

This is one of the greatest interpretations ever. I mean, it's perfect. What it brings is an incredible feeling, an overwhelming emotion. It brings real, real tears.
And it's amazing how you can feel at the end of the song. Unforgettable.

I'm sure you've seen Thunder Road live with Melissa Etheridge (check her out at the Kennedy Center here doing Born to Run too!) and If I should Fall Behind with Clarence that dear sweetheart. I used to love blasting down the highway listening to Sherry Darling when I was younger....Bruce has covered the gammut of emotions and does it like no other. Clarence will be sorely missed.

This is amazing, and Ben's recorded version of the song is great, but he cuts out a huge portion of the song, and it's most important lyrics, not sure why he did it this way, I assume time constraints.

@jillhbaudhaan Maybe she missed her father, her children, a loved one or friend that has passed and this song brings back memories. There are millions of people that did not / do not have good relations with one or both of their parents and after some years realiize they want to heal wounds or close the divide. Maybe it brings back memories of one's earlier life. There is a good portion left out of these words but you can find the complete lyrics on line. May we all find peace.
